With the support of labor unions, a new bill prohibiting municipalities in the state from enacting “right-to-work laws” was signed into law by Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker last week. The “Collective Bargaining Freedom Act” prohibits local right-to-work ordinances and imposes penalties for violations. Right-to-work laws became a focus for state lawmakers after the village of Lincolnshire, a northern suburb of Chicago, passed one in 2015. A federal court later overturned the ordinance. Right-to-work laws prohibit union contracts from requiring all workers to either join a union or pay dues.

Another nail in Illinois´ coffin. Less freedom for its people. People and businesses leaving. That swirling sound you hear is the toilet flushing down the Land of Lincoln.

The government is now mandating that workers join a union. Illinois is one step closer to communism.

Already going downhill and approaching a sharp turn, the Governor of Illinois puts the gas petal to the floor.
They won´t survive the remaining six years of the Trump administration, so there is no chance of another democrat in the White House to bail them out with federal funds.

Its Illinois. Is anybody shocked by this ruling. In every democratic state which is a failing state, its all about screwing the workers. All they want is your money. All unions do is support the malcontents in every company. Typical of democrats. Wake up.

Democrats should not be allowed legal status, and told to go and mind their own business, instead of seizing other people´s property and freedoms. I hate the party, and very justifiably to do so of a group that wants to enslave and coerce you.

Illinois is run by Chicago - the most corrupt city in the USA. The rest of Illinois is moderate to conservative.

So, to work in Illinois, one must enslave oneself to a union? Didn´t the 13th Amendment put an end to that?

We in Alabama say ´´Thank You!´´ to the politicians in places like Illinois. We will just keep on welcoming Toyota, Mazda, Hyundai, Kia, Honda and Mercedes to the Heart of Dixie with our right to work laws, southern work ethic, low cost of living and low state taxes.

Given that most competent and intelligent workers turn up their noses at labor unions, Illinois will now have the bottom feeders of the workforce doing everything, those that like to work the system and be protected from all penalties. The end is near, get out while you can. I spent one year there in the seventies and it was a corrupt, horrible place to live and work way back then.

The union money-laundering scam: Democrat legislature passes law requiring union membership, members of union required to pay dues, dues are contributed to political campaigns of Democrats whether members like it or not, in office Democrat legislators pass legislation favorable to unions, rinse and repeat.

Shame on them. Wouldn’t you know a wealthy lib like Pritzker who has his and didn’t work a day in his life to get it, would go for something restrictive on the blue collar workers like this bad ban...

J. B. Pritzker:
He is a private business owner based in Chicago and a managing partner and co-founder of the Pritzker Group and a member of the Pritzker family who own the Hyatt hotel chain; he has an estimated personal net worth of $3.5 billion.[1]
Pritzker was the Democratic nominee for governor of Illinois in the 2018 gubernatorial election.[2] He defeated Republican incumbent Bruce Rauner in the general election on November 6, 2018.[3] As governor, he holds more private wealth than any other governor in U.S. history and is the second-wealthiest U.S. politician to have ever held office, after Michael Bloomberg.
And he didn’t build that.

Want to know why productivity is down when you want to plug in that extension cord for your power tool? You have to call a union electrician to plug it in, as no one else is allowed to do it. How long before they get there?
The only people who win are the unions and the politicians.

Somebody forgot the SCOTUS July 2018 decision: "The Supreme Court upended decades of precedent Wednesday and ruled that a public-sector labor union can’t force nonmembers to pay dues, a decision that could drain a major source of money from a key ally of the Democratic Party.
The justices, in the 5-4 ruling, said public-sector unions take political positions and that forcing people to pay dues means they end up funding speech and political activity that they might oppose.
“Fundamental free speech rights are at stake,” wrote Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr., who authored the majority opinion. (WAshington Times)
