With the wall still in the works, President Trump isn´t sitting idle as 1.5 million illegal migrants prepare to storm the U.S. border this year. He´s moving swiftly to get some kind of handle on the migrant surge by strengthening the U.S.´s loophole-filled system of laws that have made immigrating here illegally more attractive to would-be migrants than following U.S. law. He´s pulling up the drawbridge. OANN reports that Trump´s new package of measures, which should be complete by this summer, may just be the invisible architecture to deter illegal immigration as effectively as a wall.

A 10% tax on all remittances would amount to about $5 billion a year, more than enough to pay for a wall. If we only taxed money sent to Mexico, it would still be over $2 billion a year. Why aren´t we doing this?

It´s really hard to believe that some of these ´new´ criteria for granting asylum haven´t been in place all along...whatever happened to common sense?!?
This is terrifically encouraging, but what´s to prevent their undoing when the regime changes (as it inevitably will)?

As usual, we´ll have to wait and see what the ACLU and some 9th circuit judge decides. It will only work if PDT can get a conservative judge to rule in his favor before that happens.

Gee, I sent an email to the President suggesting that he fire Neilsen and replace her with Kris Kobach.
The next day, she announces her resignation and now we hear Kobach is being considered for her job. He would be outstanding, I know him well, personally since his first campaign for city council, when he was a REAL university law prof. He is very intelligent, and very honest, and a true conservative, through and through. We have talked about how to stop the illegals and he has always had several good ideas, but many politicians, and judges, even here in KS working to block him.
Of course, I assume that my email couldn´t have hurt, but not likely that was anything like the deciding factor. Grin. but who knows?

He could probably stop remittances without legislation but not the rest of it. Piglosi and her commies in the House would put an immediate stop to any immigration reform. PT will have to wait until 2020 and hope the House gets turned back Republican and RINOs get tossed out.

Community organizers stir up trouble, they do not resolve troubles. They are, in fact, just smart alec troublemakers. The invasion of of people at the southern U.S. border is organized and funded essentially by “community organizers”, by troublemakers. However, these organizers abandon their crowds once those crowds reach the border.
There is a moral imperative for the organizers to provide financial and humanitarian support for those they have enticed to the border. Taxpayers have no duty to provide such support. To do so would be to surrender to the socialist imperative of forcing taxpayers to provide financial aid to irresponsible people. Sadly, many people are suckered into accepting the mantra “we are a good and kind people who are our brothers keeper”. Then, as a matter of self-esteem, they forfeit the rewards of their labor to what will ultimately turn against them. Submitting to abuse is not a noble objective of life.
The socialists seek power using underhanded “community organizing”. This is a claim against all such organizers, including the likes of George Soros, and it is not directed solely at the pretentious Obama. Frankly, Obama is nothing more than a trained seal. He may or may not be a participant in the border crisis (are not crises a hallmark of socialist strategy?), but it is the type of activity by which he made his living.
The Trump administration needs to make an open and direct attack against these organizers and it needs to make publically clear the intensions and tactics of the organizers. The organizers are fomenting a crisis. The public has a right to understand this and they have a right of protection for their wealth. At a minimum they need to know that an effort is being made to expose the villainy behind the border crisis.

If they´re going to be released into the country anyway, why not give them all a bus ride to a sanctuary city or state? Let those fools bear the burden?

There are positive changes over which Pelosi has no control. A military or police force sent to their home countries to eradicate the gangs that are running things would remove the safety claims of the people. Medical care should be limited to ER only and not include child delivery. All residents at an address receiving welfare or EBT cards should be identified. Ten people can easily live on the income of seven and you know that citizen families harbor their illegal members.
Our public school systems could have their government support reduced by a certain percentage and that percentage could be charged directly to parents of students, ergo, nobody receives free education. Even California would go for this move given their suffering economy.
All of the bloated police departments that have grown due to drug enforcement should rotate twenty percent of their personnel to border patrol stations to control drug entry at the source instead of waiting until the stuff hits their streets. The Nixonian "War on Drugs" has been a fifty year waste of time and money.

Require SSN, address in drivers license, and Everify each and every remittance. No welfare or FoodStamps until after refugee status is granted by a judge. If an illegal produces false information generate a warrant for their arrest, if ever caught deport immediately.

When I came here there was NO HANDOUT of anything! You had to be sponsored by either family or a company and they were responsible for you till you got on your feet. No food stamps, S.S., nothing! You did not cost the country nothing. There is nothing wrong with that And we should go back to that again. I don´t know when or why the laws were changed!! It needs to be changed back again.
