My soon to be married son and his future bride both thought the solomoon concept was weird and sad. I agreed.

Worse yet is if these ununited pairs survive as a pair to have children who learn to play one independent parent off the other and become master manipulators.

The product of shacking up for oh say a couple of years then deciding for whatever equally irresponsible egocentric/manipulative/controlling reason to get married before getting a divorce after an abortion or two.

Sounds like something for modern day arranged marriages for leftist types--the types that lead to leftist jobs after leftist educations from the results of leftist entrance tactics.

That is because so many of these couples have already been having sex for years, have been living together almost that long, and probably have a few kids running around.
They are probably ready for a break from each other after all that plus the stress of putting on a wedding.
But, hey, at least they got married. Most young people have no interest or intention to ever do that!!!! Which is just another sign that our society is quickly going down the drain!!!!!

If you don’t want to honeymoon with someone for. God’s sake don’t marry them. It’s only going downhill from there.

If you live together for years before marrying, why would a honeymoon be meaningful?

I cannot imagine being so "trendy" or such a lemming, that if others think this is a good idea to be a # me too idiot, I would follow along.
People should really go back to having hobbies and give up electronics.

I’m reminded of my parents’ next-door neighbors back in the Seventies. The couple got married in Vegas after having been shacked up for several years. The husband had no interest in honeymooning, he preferred to do some gambling. The “new” bride complained about it. His answer was, “We’ve being doing it all these years. Why go through this ( the honeymoon)? I thought he had a point.

How sad for them. Self centered pukes, pretty unlikely to be married long.

I’m old but I still believe that, if a woman is not willing to take her husband’s name, she doesn’t love him enough to marry him.

We went on a canoe trip years ago with others. One paddler was just married but her husband stayed home. She badmouthed him the entire trip and needless to say, they were divorced soon after. Marriage is teamwork, and if they can´t work together to resolve their issues there is no reason to stay together.
