Democratic presidents behaved a lot worse than Trump in the White House

Progressives claim President Trump marks a new low in American political and presidential history, personifying a singularly odious message. But if we examine the present pantheon of progressive icons, and strip away their reliance on liberal-media protection and transfer them instead into the present age of tabloid promiscuity and cyber omnipresence, would we now have a very different view of their presidencies? The progressive Woodrow Wilson administration likely would never have completed its two elected terms had it operated on media protocols common just a half-century later.

This is adapted from Hanson’s new book The Case for Trump.
Hanson seems to dwell on Trump negatives - even when comparing him with other presidents - and rarely speaks of the good he is doing. What has been accomplished in two short years, while being bombarded by the media and the #NeverTrumpers and having numerous obstacles placed in the path of his reforms by the judiciary and others.

True. Demoslut presidents should be rotting in jail at this moment if not shot on charges of treason. I´m still trying to figure out what exactly Trump has done in office that is so bad. Except for winning the 2016 election, what has Trump done that equals Clinton´s allowing missile secrets sent to China, and sexual acts in the Oval Office. Or Obozo´s apology tour, IRS investigations of U.S. citizens, billions of dollars sent to Iran, gutting of the U.S. military, and so on and so on.

VDH never disappoints! As he said, President Truman was often rude, crude and out spoken, but he was a GREAT President. The right man at the right. If one looks at the accomplishments of POTUS Donald Trump instead of the caterwauling of the Dems´ and the media, I believe President will also be judged a GREAT President, the right man at the right time. Thank You Dr. Hanson.

I don´t plan to read Hanson´s book, because smart as he is, he doesn´t seem to "get" DJT. Maybe he spends too much time in the Hoover Tower. He accepts the premise that Trump´s admittedly eccentric personality is somehow defective or immoral, and not just different. He says nothing (in this piece) about the warmth Trump displays with ordinary people, the playful good humor with which he jibes the press, and his incredible capacity to soldier on in the face of the Left´s scurrilous resistance. Not to mention Trump´s unprecedented commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises. Hansen comes closest to the mark in his comparison of Trump with Truman, but fails to highlight important differences (Trump has a business plan for the country, for example, and he does not lose his temper).
Hanson is very good at historical outlines, but I just don´t see evidence here that he has good insight into DJT.

What #7 said.
Question no one asks: Has Hanson ever met President Trump? Has he ever had a conversation with him, sat down and talked, met him in a social or professional situation?
Or does Hanson, like all the Democrats, get his information from the left-wing media?

Am loathe to say anything positive about a demoncrap. But Harry Truman had some personal traits that are rare and commendable. He was totally faithful to his wife and had no affairs. He refused to appoint people to his cabinet who weren´t faithful to their wives. Morality had nothing to do with it. He felt that if someone would lie about their marriage vows they wouldn´t have any problem lying to him and he didn´t want liars working for him because he wanted honest opinions. Flawed as he was I´d take him over any of the current dims.

just starting to read this book..so far, I think it is going to be pretty good.he did say he had never been to the WH. talked to the WH..and I am pretty sure he has not met POTUS.
the thing that ticks me off about writers, the press..is..when they say he is coarse and says vulgar things WTH are they talking about???..just keep pushing that narrative MSM..push that into the low info peeps and hope that it sticks..
