JD Vance has Iran completely backward:
Continuity is chaos

During a recent appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast, Vice President JD Vance laid out a familiar fear about Iran: that a U.S. push for regime change could turn into another Libya, with state collapse, terrorist infrastructure, mass migration, and pressure for America to manage the aftermath. That concern should not be dismissed. Americans have lived through Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and the long hangover from promises that the fall of a bad regime would quickly produce a better order.

Comments:

What i see here is effort to dump Vance, and dumb people thinking the Iran effort will go better without him. Please recall Nixon would not have been ousted had Agnew been in place. Minus the VP, line of succession goes to House Speaker, which will be Jeffries within a week of it really mattering, a few murders and a dash of blackmail, or else to VP who must be acceptable to Democrats in the Senate and that done Trump to be disposed of like Nixon. The two step way they got rid of Nixon after the biggest electoral win in history You forgot, right? yu were supposed to. Dumping Vance looks righteous and fun and tasty? Recall Nixon, recall what happened, see it being done again. No NO n O

Re #2. Same poster for both. Not your routine erroneous double posting. There is something weird that sometimes happens when posting that puts out two posts when you try for one. I haven't had it happen to me for a couple of years, but at one time, it happened to me several times. Probably some strange timing issue with certain mixes of internet providers and browsers.

US and Iranian officials are due to meet in Qatar’s capital on Tuesday after Tehran “requested talks” following days of reciprocal attacks that threatened their interim deal, according to President Donald Trump. However, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei says the Iranian delegation is not currently scheduled to hold talks with the US and is only visiting Qatar to advance efforts to secure the release of frozen assets.

Donald Trump’s reputation and political career were built on his dealmaking prowess, yet the president keeps demonstrating that he is a terrible negotiator. Repeatedly over the past nine years, Trump has gotten rolled by counterparts during high-stakes exchanges. Religious leaders and pro-life advocates are raising alarms about changes to abortion laws in Britain after the House of Lords advanced legislation that would remove penalties for women who terminate their pregnancies. [snip] "The clause would change the law so it would no longer be illegal for women to perform their own abortions for any reason, including sex-selective purposes, and at any point up to and during birth," Right to Life said in a March 18 statement.

Two weeks into Operation Epic Fury, the dominant narrative has settled into a comfortable groove: The United States and Israel stumbled into a war without a plan. Iran is retaliating across the region. Oil prices are surging, and the world is facing another Middle Eastern quagmire. US senators have called it a blunder. Cable news has tallied the crises. Commentators have warned of a long war. [snip] But this narrative is wrong. Not because the costs are imaginary, but because the critics are measuring the wrong things. They are cataloguing the price of the campaign while ignoring the strategic ledger.

President Trump said Thursday that the US has an “armada” headed toward Iran — but that “maybe we won’t have to use it” — as he remained coy about his intentions after authorities slaughtered protesters this month. “We have a lot of ships going that direction just in case. We have a big flotilla going in that direction. And we’ll see what happens,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One as he returned from the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

The whole of Virginia's General Assembly has approved four constitutional amendments — on abortion and reproductive health care, the automatic restoration of voting rights, marriage equality and mid-decade redistricting — after the state Senate's Friday vote. With the draft amendments passing both chambers in consecutive years, with a House of Delegates election in the middle, Virginia voters will now have the last say in a multi-year process on whether to enshrine in the constitution: A fundamental right to reproductive care, including access to abortion, contraception and fertility treatments

The Labour Party chairman has repeatedly refused to rule out delaying the next general election after scrapping council elections next year. Anna Turley MP left Sky News host Trevor Phillips stunned as she was given repeated opportunities to rule out the idea.... Mr Phillips pointed to this week’s move to scrap up to 63 council elections next year, on top of delaying votes on new mayors. Labour has blamed the delays on reorganisations of local government, prompting the interviewer to ask whether Sir Keir Starmer may find an excuse to avoid going to the polls in 2029.

Justice Secretary David Lammy is proposing to massively restrict the ancient right to a jury trial by only guaranteeing it for defendants facing rape, murder, manslaughter or other cases passing a public interest test. An internal government briefing, produced by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) for all other Whitehall departments, confirms plans to create a new tier of jury-less courts in England and Wales. The new courts would deal with most crimes currently considered by juries in Crown Court. But the MoJ said no final decision had been taken by the government.

The Prime Minister is set to approve plans for a controversial Chinese "super embassy" in central London, Sky News understands. A final decision on the planning application for the former Royal Mint site near the Tower of London is due on 10 December, after numerous previous delays. The proposal is highly politically sensitive due to concerns about Chinese espionage activities in the UK, inflamed by the collapse of a recent court case involving two men accused of spying for China.

For 33 days, a wounded Ukrainian soldier lay trapped behind enemy lines; a tourniquet the only thing keeping him alive after a landmine shattered his foot. Six rescue missions failed. The escape vehicles were destroyed in the “kill zone”, where drones and mines make undetected movement nearly impossible. But his comrades did not concede defeat. On the seventh attempt, an armoured unmanned vehicle crawled over 40 miles along enemy lines in a meticulous five-hour-and-58-minute mission – battered by blasts, slowed by a damaged wheel – emerging against the odds.

UPDATE: NBC has officially called the Michigan Senate race for far-left Democratic Socialist Abdul El-Sayed. Islamo-Marxist Abdul El-Sayed appears on track to defeat the so-called moderate Democrat in the Michigan Democratic Primary for Senator. Stevens was backed by Michigan Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Senator Chuck Schumer. El-Sayed will now face former Rep. El-Sayed has denied that he is a socialist, but he’s attended and spoken at at least six DSA events over the years, according to Fox. “I’m not technically or practically DSA,” he claimed in an interview last month. “I am not somebody who is a socialist.

The repatriation of illegal aliens from the United States to wherever they came from is still ongoing, and it seems to be picking up. In July, reports indicate that Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrests broke all previous records: 51,000. Bear in mind that this number also includes people arrested for interfering with ICE operations. Color me skeptical on that last item, especially coming as it does from a nameless immigration attorney. Here's the interesting part: At least one ally of President Trump on this issue is calling for a change in focus.

The U.S. will reach what good deal, bad deal or no deal. And 48% said no deal. What’s your view?” Pence said, “Well, I have more confidence in President Trump than that. There’s a controversy in the Woman’s National Basketball League. The controversy is whether a transsexual man-to-woman player should be allowed to play. This controversy is currently a purely hypothetical one – there are no actual transexual players in the WNBA. But the question has been posed, should there be? We know that men have inherent physical advantages over women. They’re bigger and stronger. They have denser muscles, due primarily to their much greater testosterone levels. That muscle density makes them not only stronger but also faster, quicker and able to jump much higher.

When Texas Children’s Hospital’s “detransition clinic” opens in Houston, it will become the first facility of its kind, giving patients who regret life-altering procedures a chance at restorative care. The facility, which has yet to announce an opening date, is part of an agreement with state and federal authorities to halt “gender-affirming care” at children’s hospitals while offering help to those who transitioned medically. A 10-page settlement term sheet, recently obtained by The Epoch Times through an open records request to the Texas attorney general’s office, showed that services at the clinic will focus on multidisciplinary care.

Last week’s stunning border break in Ceuta, a North African enclave that has been part of Spain for over 400 years, should be a wake-up call for all of Europe and the U.S., too. New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s socialist dream of government-run grocery stores is off to a bad start. He’s already had to admit that customers will have to carry proof of residency to shop in them, that private companies — not the city — will run the stores, and that the first one won’t open for more than a year, and others not for three years. But Mamdani’s likely to face an even bigger problem if no legitimate grocer wants to get into bed with him. The “request for proposals” tacitly admits that his idea of government-run stores was stillborn, since he wants bids from private companies that have extensive experience
