On one hand, we are winning the war with Iran. This week, bombings greatly accelerated and are not likely to end without real capitulation and surrender. On the other hand, the Vice President seems to be at odds with the administration, unhappy that we are in a (winning) war and casting blame for the failure of his peace effort, which is really only Iran’s fault. On one hand, the President has declassified documents credibly showing foreign influence and interference with our elections. For now we are stuck in democrats bizarro world. We need to keep revealing the truth until they can't hide any more. You might end up with a lot of democrats in straitjackets, but that's OK with me. The next 2 years should be fun to watch.

The MSM could have claimed this was all “old news” if they had ever bothered to report it in the first place. Instep they buried it. The President’s address is still buried.

JD Vance is talking himself right out of the next presidency and clearing the path for Rubio. Anybody, and I mean anybody who believes that one can negotiate in good faith with the murdering mullahs of Iran or their IRGC is a prime candidate for the purchase of the Brooklyn Bridge. We are doing now what we should have been doing all along, pounding Iran until the last drone, missile and boat has been destroyed, then aid the people in their revolution. JD is a good man but he has a lot to learn.

FTA - "The Vance negotiations allowed Trump more time to work with Iran’s neighbors to encourage them to join us and offer them protection from anticipated Iranian aggression while setting in play steps to keep oil flowing to prevent a worldwide economic catastrophe. Vance willingly but naively believed in his mission. No one else in the Administration did, although they did nothing to undercut him. If he succeeded, it was good. If he failed -- and he certainly did because the task was futile from the outset -- he bore the brunt of it." It is unfortunate that JD apparently thought the mullahs and irgc and the negotiations were honorable. He learned a hard lesson here. Or he actually did regard the negotiations as a farce and was willing to be the fall guy to advantage his boss and our military.

VP Vance was a combat correspondent in the USMC; just another journalist trained to spin things. He has little experience in elected office; couple years as a Senator. Private sector experience; wrote a best selling autobiography and advised on the movie adaptation and that’s about it. Maybe some corporate attorney experience-great just what this country needs is another attorney as President. No I am not keen on Vance. DeSantis or Rubio (presuming Rubio doesn’t fall for the pathways for illegals to be legal).

What is going on with J.D.? Has he become peace at any price, a peacenik? And for him to blame Israel for Iran's aggression is downright crazy. Israel is out for self preservation, not an expansionist like Russia. BTW we don't have to agree with Israel's policies like mandated clot shots to be supportive of the right of Israel to exist.

(1) Jeff Childers posted an excellent takedown Friday of the New York Times' "fact check" of the President's speech on his Coffee and Covid substack. Notably, the same media outlets that are valorizing the refusal of California and other blue states to submit their voter registration data to the U.S. Department of Justice for analysis are now contending that it is no big deal that Communist China has already stolen the same data. (2) The cease-fire framework was a roadmap for developing a final agreement if Iran demonstrated good faith, principally by ceasing its attacks on vessels transiting the Gulf of Hormuz. Iran unsurprisingly failed that test, conclusively demonstrating that the United States has no alternative to resuming attacks until Iran surrenders. That is by no means a failure of the framework.

The Fourth of July was not only a day to celebrate our country’s independence. It marks the date of a new kind of investment account for children of citizens who are under 18 and who have Social Security account numbers. The Trump Accounts (530A accounts) are a brilliant idea. Often compared to “starter IRA accounts,” the children are the owners of the accounts, which are to be managed by a responsible adult -- guardian or parent. (Snip) Consider the genius of this program. It encourages millions of people, many of whom are not investors, to become actual stakeholders in our economy.

I've been watching reports all Friday and Saturday, tracking reports of events in Iran. It seems to me that those who know what’s happening aren’t talking, and news outlets like Axios and Reuters, who can’t possibly have inside information, are. I disregard as unlikely the accounts of terms of any agreement which do not come from official sources. Yes, there are some credible signs that we are reaching a critical juncture in the negotiations: The President abandoned his plans to attend his son’s wedding in Florida to return to the White House. The Vice President made an unscheduled return from Ohio to D.C.

Rep. Tony Gonzales, R-Texas, abruptly announced his decision to resign from Congress Monday evening amid calls for him to step aside after admitting to sexual misconduct with a staffer earlier this year. The embattled lawmaker was facing an anticipated expulsion vote that could have occurred as early as this week. "There is a season for everything and God has a plan for us all. When Congress returns tomorrow, I will file my retirement from office," Gonzales wrote on social media. "It has been my privilege to serve the great people of Texas."

The attention of those less politically minded is focused on the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy -- always fodder for the would-be Colombos and Miss Marples -- and the Olympics. Yet this week saw some victories for the administration along with some serious unfinished business. The ousted dictator Nicolás Maduro seems isolated, depressed, and devoid of funds sufficient to hire teams of lawyers to defend him. Any claims he might have for immunity seem destined to fail. The evidence establishes he was born in Colombia; his claim falls because only a native Venezuelan is entitled to hold the office of president.

Here’s a sample of the tremors this week which promise to undo the near past. Martin made his first comparison on X, expressing support for both protesters in the U.S. and Iran for rising up against "systems that wield violence without accountability." "From Tehran to my birthplace of Minneapolis, people are rising up against systems that wield violence without accountability. In Iran, brave protestors confront a far-right theocratic regime that crushes dissent and denies basic freedoms," Martin wrote.

Much of the mainstream news this week has been, in my opinion, partisan or devoted to less-than-significant matters. Does it really matter if the Trump-appointed board that saved the Kennedy Center from going to wrack and ruin has added his name to the building? Were you really surprised that Bill Clinton, not Trump, was pictured in the released Epstein files cavorting with women whose faces were blacked out because they were either minors or victims? (Snip) I think the important and underreported stories of the week, are different -- the growing fractures in the European Union and the Administration’s lowering the boom on richly rewarded migration sponsors.

To my mind the two biggest stories of the week for their domestic impact are Senator Chuck Schumer’s threatened government shutdown and the indictment of former FBI head James Comey. Neither of them bodes well for the Democrats, whose favorability ratings are already scraping bottom. Both revolve around the magic date September 30, that is, this Tuesday. If the Congress does not pass a continuing resolution this Tuesday, the government will shut down. Schumer insists that he won’t vote for a stopgap bill, something centrists in his party like Senator Jeanne Shaheen are seeking.

President Trump pointed out Canada’s forestry mismanagement and failure to follow through with their previous promises of investment have led to catastrophic wildfires now producing smoke streams making U.S. Northern cities and states live under dangerous conditions. Prime Minister Mark Carney was asked about the U.S. government position, and he immediately hit back by saying the cause of Canada’s wildfires is ‘climate change’ and President Trump’s unwillingness to support the Paris Climate Treaty has created the problem that Canada is now dealing with. In short, according to the official policy of the Canadian government, their wildfires are caused by Trump’s refusal to accept global “climate change” policies. WATCH:
