President Trump announced on Tuesday that he would scrap his proposal yesterday for a 20 percent tolling fee on cargo transiting the Strait of Hormuz, and would instead pursue trade and investment deals with Gulf states.
Trump made the pitch a day ago as part of efforts to unlock commercial shipping through the crucial waterway.
“Based on highly productive conversations with Middle East leadership, I have decided to replace the 20% United States Reimbursement Fee with Trade and Investment Deals that the various Gulf States will be making into the United States,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“Those Investments will be MASSIVE but, at the same time,

Consumer prices fell sharply in June thanks to relief at the gas pump and a broad decline in inflation.
The consumer price index fell 0.4 percent last month compared with May, the Department of Labor said Tuesday. This is the largest decline since 2020. Compared with a year ago, prices are 3.5 percent higher.
Economists had forecast a 0.1 percent monthly decline after May’s sharp 0.5 percent increase. The inflation index was expected to climb 3.8 percent from a year earlier, a slowdown in annual inflation from May’s 4.2 percent.
Core prices, a measure that excludes food and energy, were flat compared with the prior month.

New York has spent years aggressively taxing its wealthiest residents in the name of fairness, and the results are now in. Suffice it to say, they’re not pretty.
A new study released Monday by the Citizen Budget Commission (CBC) reveals the state’s share of America’s millionaires has dropped sharply since 2010, triggering a nearly $11 billion shortfall in tax revenue in a single year as high earners quietly packed up and left for lower-tax states.
The analysis shows New York’s share of millionaires fell from 12.7% in 2010 to just 8.7% in 2022 — the steepest decline of any state in the country.
As a direct result,

President Trump said Monday that the U.S.’s naval blockade on the Strait of Hormuz will be reinstated as Washington and Tehran fight for control of the crucial waterway after strikes were exchanged over the weekend.
“The Hormuz Strait is OPEN, and will remain OPEN, with or without Iran,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “We are reinstating the THE IRANIAN BLOCKADE, so named because it is only stopping Iran’s ships or customers from entering or leaving.”
“All other countries will have fair and open use of the Strait,” he said, adding that the U.S. will be known as “the Guardian of the Hormuz Strait.”

British counter-terrorism police officers are now leading the investigation into the suspected murder of former British government minister Ann Widdecombe in light of new information, interior minister Shabana Mahmood said on Monday.
Widdecombe, 78, was found dead at her home in rural southwest England last Thursday with what police described as "serious injuries." She was a prominent member of Nigel Farage's populist Reform UK, having left the Conservatives after she stood down from parliament in 2010.
Police arrested a white British man in Rotherham, northern England, late on Saturday on suspicion of her murder, and initially said there was not thought to be a terrorism link.

Police investigating the alleged murder of Ann Widdecombe have said there is "nothing to suggest it was politically motivated" as they continue to question a man.
Devon and Cornwall Police added they are not looking for anyone else in connection with her death, following the arrest of the 28-year-old white British man in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
The former MP, 78, was found dead on Thursday at her home in Haytor, Devon, having sustained serious injuries.
Police activity was seen throughout Sunday at a house in Rotherham believed to be connected to the investigation, after neighbours described officers arriving on Saturday night to make an arrest.

Hollywood has been considered the king of the movie universe for over a hundred years now, influencing world culture, international filmmaking, and even the U.S. presidency (thinking of you, Ronald Reagan).
In recent years, however, the Los Angeles district itself has faced struggles, with the one-party Democrat rule in L.A. and the rest of California makes life more and more miserable for companies trying to actually get things done and make a profit. Production in Hollywood has cratered as more and more studios film overseas or in tax-friendly film havens like North Carolina, Georgia, and Texas. Surprisingly, even

CNBC sounds like a business channel, but it’s really just another liberal channel. When it thinks about the best “states for business,” they’re matching that with what they call “quality of life.” Some measures – health care, crime – make nonpartisan sense, but CNBC adds grades for “inclusiveness,” “protections” against discrimination, anti-gun "reforms," and naturally, “reproductive rights.” They touted their ongoing winner -- Vermont, the Bernie Sanders State: The best states to live in for 2026: No. 1 has a six-year winning streak The best states are the most liberal states? In the aftermath of the 1972 Munich Olympics massacre that left 11 Israeli coaches and athletes dead at the hands of Black September terrorists (bonus question: the Palestinians and which other nation were involved in "Black September?"), Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir unleashed Operation Spring of Youth, a raid on Palestine Liberation Organization camps in Lebanon that killed over 50 terrorists. She also went after the Munich massacre organizers. Operation Wrath of God unleashed Mossad hit squads on Black September terrorists cowering in Europe, under the illusion they were safe there. This operation continued until its final hit on February 14, 1988, in Cyprus. Between nine and 11 key

Many awoke Sunday morning to the stunning news of Sen. Lindsey Graham's (R-SC) sudden and unexpected passing Saturday evening. Among those undoubtedly caught off guard were NBC News and "Meet the Press," who had Graham slated to join Kristen Welker on this morning's program, fresh off his latest trip to Ukraine.
Instead, Welker spoke with President Donald Trump over the phone to get his reaction to the loss of Graham. In their conversation, Trump revealed that he had just spoken to Graham earlier in the evening and wondered if he might have even been Graham's last call:

Rhetoric between the United States and Iran on the Strait of Hormuz is beginning to resemble a championship game of ping-pong, with both sides volleying claims back and forth. In one of the latest, on Sunday, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), which has control over Middle East operations, released a broadside on X, declaring the Strait of Hormuz open despite Iran's claims. The post states:
The Strait of Hormuz is open to all vessels seeking to lawfully transit the international waterway. U.S. forces are positioned and prepared to ensure that freedom of navigation remains available despite unwarranted Iranian aggression,

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) has passed away at 71, and the Senate map just got complicated. Graham had served in the Senate since 2003, having first been elected in 2002, and was seeking a fifth term after winning the Republican primary last month.
Graham's office confirmed his passing in a statement released early Sunday morning, describing a "brief and sudden" illness.
The timing is jarring, to say the least. Graham had just returned from Kyiv, Ukraine, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday. The trip has since become the subject of speculation about whether it was connected to Graham’s passing.
