No one who’s kept up with U.S. politics even minimally over the last four decades should be surprised that the Democratic Party has been the launching pad for a wave of socialism. The party has long been rooted in socialist principles. It was inevitable that what the Democrats have long covered up is now out in the open and its zealots adherents are threatening our republic. Granted, the wave is not overwhelming and our country has survived previous flirtations with socialism. But the boldness from the outright socialists, who are hiding behind the label of “democratic socialists,”

"Moderate" dimocrats are upset that the radicals have let the cat out of the bag. It won't be long before they are all loud and proud. That's just fewer things that have to lie about and keep up with the lies. It must be a huge burden lifted.

Dems have been forced out of the closet. They have always been sympathetic to Castro's Cuba and the old Soviet Union, and recently covered for the CCP on the origins of COVID.

The Fourth of July is usually a time for fireworks, picnics and, for some, quiet reflection on what it means to be an American. But this Fourth is special, marking the 250th anniversary of the United States. Are Americans still proud of what they’ve built? A solid majority says yes, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. The national online I&I/TIPP Poll asked 1,589 adults: “As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary, how proud are you to be an American?” The response was strong: 72% said they were either “very proud” (48%) or “somewhat proud” (24%), while 24% said they were

The left, to no one’s surprise, is freaking out about the Supreme Court’s ruling that a president can fire an official who works in the executive branch. They are freaking out not because the ruling favors President Donald Trump, but because it will return the federal government to its constitutional roots. Liberal Justices on the court spoke for the freak-out crowd when they said that the conservative majority in Trump v. Cook “reshapes our government,” and that “dozens of independent commissions are now likely to become purely executive agencies, shifting tremendous power over broad swaths of American life into the President’s hands,” Justice Sonia Sotomayor wrote in the dissent. Scary sounding, right?

Crude prices exceeded $110 a barrel in early April but now, at less than $70 a barrel on Thursday, are within a few of bucks of where they were before the bombing campaign against the terrorist regime in Tehran began. They have not fallen fast enough for the president, though, so he’s ordered the Justice Department to dig into oil companies’ business affairs. Please, Mr. President, don’t be Gavin Newsom. “The big oil Companies are not dropping their price at the pump commensurate with the sharply lower prices they are paying for oil,” President Donald Trump announced Wednesday on social media.

Although neither of them intended it, two recent news reports combined to make the case that federal fuel economy standards are killing people. And neither article mentions that President Donald Trump has a plan that will save lives. The New York Times this week featured an article looking at the rise in pedestrian deaths, which had been trending downward for decades, but then steadily turned upward after 2009. “While speeding and poorly designed infrastructure have helped fuel the increase, many safety advocates have also drawn a connection to the growing portion of the U.S.

To commemorate America’s 250th anniversary, we will post next week an op-ed from Pepperdine economist Gary M. Galles, who reminds us of the inspirational words left behind by those who won our liberty. One statement, a warning from George Washington, stands out in a time when this nation is electing some of the worst candidates imaginable. “Government,” Washington said, “is not reason. It is not eloquence. It is a force, like fire: a dangerous servant and a terrible master. Never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action.” We see irresponsibility in government all

By the end of this year, there could be 10 socialist mayors in the U.S. That’s the most since the 1910s, when socialism was the shiny new object embraced by educated elites. But what excuse do Democrats have today – after 100 years of socialism’s miserable, murderous failures – for embracing this toxic ideology? Back in 1911, according to one historical count, members of the Socialist Party of America won office in 74 towns and cities, and another 32 in 1913. Fast forward to today. As NBC News put it, “Democratic socialists are on the rise in Trump-era mayoral races … fueled by a backlash to Trump policies, economic strain

How do Americans respond to the economic and political system known as socialism? For a decade or two after the collapse of socialism in Eastern Europe countries and other nations, the idea became untenable. Now, however, socialism has regained popularity among many, in particular Democrats, as the June I&I/TIPP Poll demonstrates. In the latest online national poll, taken from May 26 through May 28, 1,589 voting-age respondents were asked the following question: “In general, do you have a favorable or unfavorable view of socialism?” Those answering the poll, which has a margin of error of +/-2.7 percentage points, were

It’s heartening to see foreign soccer fans, especially the Europeans, marvel at their U.S. discoveries. They’ve been awed by Buc-ee’s, Waffle House, and Bass Pro Shops, the best examples of Americana. But what we’re seeing also makes us wonder how long America will still be America. “Soccer fans like Freddy from Germany are embracing U.S. culture as they crisscross the country — and going viral,” says Danielle Shapiro of the Manhattan Institute. “Thousands of Europeans are seeing more of America this summer than many New York Times staffers ever will,” tweets Jimmy G. Say what you want about Democrats, but they sure know how to stick to their talking points. When the IPO for SpaceX made Elon Musk the world’s first trillionaire, Democrats were primed. Almost in unison, they cried about how “Americans are struggling to pay for groceries and gas,” how the economy “is rigged,” and how the rich “don’t pay their fair share of taxes.” It’s all out of the politics-of-envy handbook. But the latter claim is particularly galling, especially when it’s being made by lawmakers who know better. Ohio Democratic Rep. Greg Landsman, for example, penned an op-ed complaining about how

Democrats put everything they had in their effort to shut down President Donald Trump’s border control plans. And what exactly have they achieved for their often-infantile antics? Well, let’s see. This week, the House passed a bill that funds ICE for three years. Deportations are near all-time highs. Oh, and it looks like Trump’s border wall will be completed next year. On Tuesday, the House passed a “budget reconciliation” bill that provides enough money ($38 billion) to fund ICE for the rest of Trump’s term, plus $28 billion for the Border Patrol, and another $5 billion for border security technology and screening.

The Supreme Court is expected to rule Tuesday in Trump v. Barbara, a high-stakes challenge to President Donald Trump's 2025 executive order that seeks to restrict automatic birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment for children of illegal immigrants and temporary visa holders. In the event the court rules against Trump, a number of Congressional Republicans have legislation pending that could practically accomplish what a different ruling would have done. "American citizenship is a priceless privilege that must be protected, not exploited. We must restore integrity to our immigration system, uphold the rule of law, and protect the value of American citizenship for generations to come,"

Justice Clarence Thomas, in a lengthy dissent, took the majority to task for interpreting the Constitution to mean that citizenship is automatically conferred on anyone born in the United States, regardless of the legal status of the parents. Thomas argued that the ruling “devalues” what it means to be an American citizen. In a 6-3 decision on Tuesday, the majority held that an executive order President Donald Trump issued on the first day of his second term violated the Constitution. The order directed that only children born on American soil to legal residents are automatically citizens of the United States. The Fourteenth Amendment states, in part, “All persons born or naturalized in

After US tourists mocked France over the lack of air conditioning across the country amid 104 degree temperatures, Audrey Pulvar, deputy mayor of Paris for international relations, claimed the situation was partly America’s fault. “Dear American journalists and social media ‘influencers’: for days, some of you have been criticizing and making fun of Paris because the city does not have A/C in every room…OMG, this is so rich!” Pulvar wrote on social media. “As the second-largest emitter of greenhouse gas emissions in the world,

The Supreme Court announced its final opinions of the term today, covering some of the most high-profile issues of the term. BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP: The court rejected President Donald Trump's executive order ending citizenship at birth for people born on U.S. soil. The court ruled that the executive order ran foul of the Constitution’s 14th Amendment, which has long been interpreted to bestow birthright citizenship on almost anyone born in the United States. TRANSGENDER ATHLETES: The high court, in a ruling that combined two cases, upheld state laws that ban transgender athletes from participating in girls’ and women’s sports. Two student athletes in West Virginia and Idaho sued to overturn the bans.

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Tuesday blocked President Donald Trump’s contentious attempt to limit citizenship at birth for those born on U.S. soil, delivering a major blow to his agenda. The court, divided 6-3, ruled that the executive order Trump issued Jan. 20, 2025, the first day of his second term, was unlawful. Five justices said the order fell foul of the Constitution’s 14th Amendment, which has long been interpreted to bestow birthright citizenship on almost anyone born in the United States.

Conservative figures are torching a Supreme Court justice after her vote helped defeat Donald Trump's push to restrict birthright citizenship. Amy Coney Barrett, taking office in 2020, was the final of three justices appointed by the President during his first term. But she sided with Chief Justice John Roberts, also a Republican appointee, and the Court's three liberals to overrule the dissent of justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito and Neil Gorsuch. Justice Brett Kavanaugh, Trump's second appointee, concurred with the judgment but disagreed with the majority's argument. The court cited the 14th Amendment to hold that 'children born in the United States to parents unlawfully or temporarily present are "subject to the jurisdiction"

A spate of rulings from the Supreme Court couldn’t be more of a mandate if they were handed down, gift-wrapped, and sealed with a kiss by God: The mass deportation of illegal aliens is legal and imperative if there’s any hope of saving this country. One ruling declared it within the president’s authority to interpret the word “temporary” as the opposite of “permanent” with regard to migrants who have been permitted to live within the U.S. for what is understood to be a finite period. He can order their removal. (Good!) A separate ruling, on the other hand, affirmed automatic American citizenship to babies born

The result comes on the heels of Mayor Zohran Mamdani's socialist sweep in New York City's congressional primaries and shows that left-wing radicalism is not confined to the East Coast. Kiros led DeGette by nearly 10 points with 93 percent of the vote counted early Wednesday morning. Her victory comes a week after a slew of socialists, all backed by Mamdani, swept the primaries in the Big Apple. Like in New York, Kiros will almost certainly secure the House seat,
