The poll, taken from May 26 through May 28, has a +/-2.7 percentage point margin of error.
But there might be an asterisk on the poll, at least as far as the demographic breakdown goes.
For instance, as a matter of politics, one group is far more proud to be American than others: Republicans. They tip the scale at 89% proud vs. just 9% not proud. Democrats are least proud (but still a majority): 62% proud, 36% not proud. Independents are slightly more: 64% proud, 29% not proud.
What’s behind this? The real dividing line isn’t party affiliation, but ideology.

I don’t watch much Women’s National Basketball Association games. Apparently, most Americans have not in the past. In fact, the only WNBA action that I have ever seen is clips on X that I scroll by, mostly without watching.
But even I know who Caitlin Clark is and why she is so popular among basketball fans. She is the person who put the WNBA on the map, whose jersey sales, along with her now-famous teammate Sophie Cunningham, outsell those of every other WNBA player combined by a whopping 2-1 margin.

Congressional conservatives are slamming the Supreme Court of the United States after it ruled to strike down a request from the president to redefine birthright citizenship.
The 6-3 decision comes after President Donald Trump’s administration argued that the birthright citizenship clause of the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution applied to descendants of slaves in the 1800s, and not to the chain migration the United States has been subject to in recent decades.
