Trump considering giving ‘major’ speech,

President Trump is touting a performer who draws larger crowds than “Elvis” to headline the Great American State Fair on the National Mall, after numerous high-profile cancellations — himself. Trump posted about the idea Saturday of giving a “major” speech and holding an “AMERICA IS BACK” rally, after a series of musicians pulled out following the announcement of the scheduled lineup in DC – among them Poison frontman Bret Michaels, country crooner Martina McBride and R&B group The Commodores. “I understand Artists are getting “the yips” having to do with their performance on Wednesday, so I am thinking about bringing the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World,

Does it surprise anybody that the left is going to do all I can to crap all over the 250th celebration of our country. Personally, I think Trump is just an excuse the left uses as an excuse to openly express it.

I've been harping on this, I know, but please bear with me one last time. Our president, the one I have supported and continue to support because I believe he is doing things that are essential to saving our country--presumably a grown man--actually wrote this: "...the man who gets much larger audiences than Elvis in his prime, and he does so without a guitar, the man who loves our Country more than anyone else, and the man who some say is the Greatest President in History (THE GOAT!), DONALD J. TRUMP, to take the place of these highly paid, Third Rate “Artists,” and give a major speech, rallying the Country forward like I have done ever since being President!” I don't think he's kidding, and I don't think he realizes how laughable is all looks "...[S]ome say is the greatest president in history"? Not me. President Trump is indisputably a great man and an extraordinary president in many ways. But there is a line of people in front of him for that honor: Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Roosevelt I, perhaps (yes, despite everything) Roosevelt II, and, probably, Reagan. None of those men displayed the arrant petulance that bedevils President Trump. And all of them managed to be both president and presidential during their terms in office. It's possible to be both, but for some reason this one simply can't manage it. As I said on another thread, I saw President Trump's new presidential portrait for the first time at a passport office this week and literally laughed out loud. Instead of an official presidential portrait backed by the American flag, we have a pouty glamor shot that looks like something that belongs on the cover of a weekend news magazine. It's embarrassing. It's unnecessary. And it sets a terrible precedent for whichever president follows him. I wish he would knock it off.

Donald Trump is multi-talented and sometimes that comes off as juvenile. Comedian, showman, builder, sportsman, financial genious, leader but most of all, a good man who loves America. As long as he keeps coming through for us, he can celebrate in any way he pleases. Any time he irritates you, just remember what trash we had before him.

The greatest service Trump has done is to deny the Democrats a stranglehold on the government so they could further choke our liberties. Before I criticize some of his 'excesses' I am always mindful of that. Would you rather be governed by Hillary and Horizontal Harris??

While accountability Trump rally is always a giant crowd attracting success; having one (in place of a wimpy crowd musical act that canceled) will just cause them all to say: See i was right! It really was just a big political event. They will do it with that usual leftist smugness and self righteousness.

Trump entertains. He turns leftists into foaming at the mouth psychopaths and he knows it. Some people find it undignified and distasteful and I understand that but I prefer his shtick over the smooth talking politicians whose biggest talent is being phony and superb liars. Regarding the musicians. I really question the musical taste of whoever came up with this lineup because it’s pathetically embarrassing. There are plenty of patriotic talented entertainers who would be honored to do these concerts. The idea that they couldn’t find any is bs.

All true, #8-11. I see and have said that. But, "the man who loves our Country more than anyone else"? Seriously? No, I mean that as a serious question. Does he seriously think that's even remotely true? President Trump didn't love our country enough to volunteer to defend it. Neither he nor any member of his family served in the armed forces of the United States before he became president. Let me be clear: it's not a question of physical courage. He clearly has that, and I admire him for it. I also know that many L-Dotters have served in the military and sacrificed for our country in ways that I have not. By that standard, I am no better than he is. However, unlike President Trump, I'm painfully aware that there are better men and women than me, whose decision to serve and sacrifice reflects a greater love for our country than I have demonstrated in my own life. Every one of the presidents I mentioned above except FDR served their country in uniform in one form or another. (But all four of FDR's sons served with distinction during World War II, three of them under fire with distinction.) That some of the others made movies (Reagan) or (Lincoln's words, not mine) only fought mosquitoes doesn't change the fact that they were willing to sacrifice something for their country. So, Trump is not a coward. He is a narcissist. Based on his life before he went into politics, the only thing he demonstrably loved "more than anyone else," was himself. Perhaps that has since changed. His moral courage in running for a second term astonishes me. Vengeance may have been a large part of it, but love of country may have been an even larger party. And, as I've said repeatedly, three presidents with the least distinguished military records (Reagan, FDR, Trump) all demonstrated extraordinary physical courage in the face of death. But, "more than anyone else"? No. President Trump should have been embarrassed to say something so self-serving, and I'm embarrassed that he did

Ohio will be the first state in the country to share its corporate registration records with the Justice Department’s new National Fraud Detection Center, as fraud scandals continue to drain taxpayer dollars nationwide. The first-of-its-kind partnership will give federal investigators immediate access to the state’s public business registration data, which could help expose shell companies, suspicious networks, shared addresses, and other signs of taxpayer fraud. “This is what I consider to be a historic day in our fight against fraud,” Assistant Attorney General Colin M. Who would have thought education dollars were best used when actually directed toward the education of students? Attempting to follow every letter of federal regulation in education is a monumental task. School personnel spend tens of millions of hours (and dollars) each year on federal compliance. What they get in return for this investment is rarely to the students’ direct benefit. Through the new Returning Education to the States Waiver, the Education Department has created a map for reform. As a result, many state superintendents across the country are working with the Education Department to redirect tax money.

The lone dissenter was Justice Clarence Thomas. Telecom companies AT&T and Verizon claimed the FCC violated their rights to a jury trial by issuing fines for an alleged violation of the law. The FCC had found that both companies violated the 1996 Telecommunications Act, which requires carriers to protect the confidentiality of customer data. The commission fined AT&T $57 million and fined Verizon $46.9 million.

New York Democrats’ latest bid to suppress Republican voters launches this week as the Legislature gets the ball rolling on amending the state Constitution to allow it. They claim they’re just countering GOP gerrymandering across the country, but that prompts the question: Why did they start trying to do this before the ink was even dry on the 2020 Census? As we noted recently, New York Dems in fact triggered the gerrymander wars with their relentless efforts, starting in 2021, to undo the voter-passed prohibition on gerrymandering so they could draw district maps guaranteed to shut out the Republicans (who still draw over 40% of the statewide vote).
