The House approved a war powers resolution Wednesday that would halt the US military action against Iran, defying President Donald Trump as a handful of Republicans joined with Democrats to end the three-month-long war that has reordered politics at home and abroad.
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) had tried to prevent an outcome that would show the mounting opposition to the war, abruptly shutting down floor action two weeks ago when the war powers resolution was on the verge of approval. But displeasure has only grown as the conflict drags on and as Trump struggles to negotiate a quick resolution.
The roll call Wednesday was 215-208,

Article does not say which traitors joined with democrats. I wonder how many of them lost their primary and this is just petty retaliation.

I had to go to Newsweek to find the 4 Republicans - Warren Davidson of Ohio, Thomas Massie of Kentucky, Tom Barrett of Michigan and Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania

But of course they'll never be able to override Trump's veto of this pointless exercise. And 4 RINO turncoats along with the entire Rat coalition doesn't signify "growing opposition."

The reason we have almost lost this country is Rino's. The leaders of the Senate and House have got to get some courage and punish the traitors with no committee assignment, no earmarks for their district, and an office way in the back.

Not only can some people fail to see the big picture, they seem to think there isn’t one. I guess ‘small minded’ sums that up.

Nancy Pelosi would never have allowed a vote not in her party's favor to even come up. Just sayin'.

Trump totally blew it here. He had a 60 day window before this vote could happen. And he foolishly let the Iranians run out the clock. They were smarter than him. 100% disappointed in him

Will not get very far and certainly not into the court system. It would be interesting to see if the WPA stands up to constitutional scrutiny.

People in various Nations around the World have been injured or dying for years due to terrorist Iran and these despicable fools want the mayhem to continue; Cannot say what I would like to happen to these Trump haters. Trump is trying to save the citizens of Iran from terrible hardships by delaying further kinetic
action and trying to reach a deal with the Iranian fanatics.

Had the president chosen to do so early on in this conflict, and in recognition of the Constitutional role of Congress in committing and sustaining the US military to combat action abroad, I believe the president could have obtained from Congress an authorization to use military force in Iran. His cause and original stated goals were in our national interest. Throughout the current war with Iran, the president has struggled with his own changing statements regarding the expected outcomes and timelines he has posted on Truth Social. He apparently has gamed the War Powers Resolution's mandatory timelines for looping in Congress by stopping and starting the clock, depending on whether or not US bombs were actively falling on Iran and their assets in and around the Persian Gulf. The protracted negotiation's trajectory is not favorable to the US achieving the objectives stated at the start of the conflict and his threats are having little effect on the hard-liners of the regime. After the first two weeks of combat operations, with little to no apparent planning or preparation for keeping the sea lanes open in and out of the Persian Gulf, time was on the Iranian's side. The Senate's passing their own resolution a month ago should have been a clue that the full Congress was on the brink of taking War Powers action. If he thought he had a case, the president could have also challenged the constitutionality of the WPR but chose not to do so, in spite of mixed but generally favorable Supreme Court rulings during his current term. I'm hopeful that something positive for the US can be salvaged out of the current situation. Losing Congress in November would be a clear tragedy, not only for the president but for all normal Americans. I'm also hopeful that the president can better address and deter the growing communist insurgency and the foreign invader fraud in our cities, state houses and our national government. I'm in a largely rural Texas county that went over 80% for Trump in 2024, with many precincts at 90% straight Republican; however, the talk in the shops, diners, and VFWs reflects growing disappointment in the conduct of the conflict, including the structure and viability of the "peace talks."

#5 said it well.
My understanding is that in 1968 the North Vietnamese were on the point of giving up, until they realized John 'Effin' Kerry and the Leftist media-led antiwar movement in the States. They hung on and persevered.
The mullets are doing the same thing. As long as the ideologue mullets and the IRGC Thugs are in control of Iran, nothing will change. They are playing for time, wearing down the TV-induced short attention span of the American public, just like they have done ever since 1979. Their 'negotiations' remind me of the stereotype of the Arab rug merchants, haggling, haggling, haggling, never reaching an agreement. I hope that President Trump is building up for decisive action that will bring this to a satisfactory conclusion, as what is presently visible to the public looks like the mullets are playing him like a cheap fiddle.

With a bit of good fortune, after the elections, perhaps we will be able to stop worrying about the RINOs in the house because they won't have enough votes to matter.

Anyone who wondered who's side the Democrats are on know now.
The Iranians are on their knees and the Democrats are helping them up.
Democrats gave Iran the money to build their nukes and fund their terrorism in the first place ,now they want to call of Trump's battle to defeat them by halting the bombing so that Iran can keep their nuclear supply they need to build their bomb.
