Police in Fairfax County, Va., responded to a “swatting” attempt at the home of Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett on Wednesday evening, authorities have confirmed to National Review.
“Yesterday evening at approximately 9:02 p.m., officers responded to a swatting call at the residence of U.S. Supreme Court Justice in Fairfax County,” county police said in a statement to NR. Swatting refers to the practice of making false emergency calls to draw a heavy police response.

Though I find it pretty amusing that there are various "political experts" out there among the Commentariat™ who are now suggesting that the seat currently held by the departing Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) might be flippable, I'm not yet ready to declare any race a "sure thing" one way or the other, considering the current political climate, where things you once thought would never happen have actually happened.
It's hard not to, though, when one considers the goldmine of material Texas Democrat Senate nominee James Talarico has put out there over the years for Trump-backed Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, the newly minted GOP Senate nominee, to exploit.

Yes, John Cornyn may have been a slightly safer bet than Ken Paxton in a general election. Given the relative difference between how the two would have voted over the next six years, the gain from nominating Paxton probably doesn't justify the assumed risk of dethroning the incumbent Cornyn. It might take more money to fight for the seat in the general election, but that assumes that Democrats would have left Texas alone had Cornyn eked out a win over Paxton.
