Another member of Congress has been missing a slew of votes without much explanation.
Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-FL), 83, has not voted in the House of Representatives since April 17, congressional reporter Jamie Dupree of the Regular Order newsletter noted on Wednesday night. Posting on Bluesky, he pointed out that Wilson had missed all 10 House votes on Wednesday and has now missed 43 consecutive votes.
Included in Dupree’s post were images posted on Wilson’s X account on Tuesday, but he noted something was amiss.
“Wilson’s X account this week sent out photos of a Service Academy day – but pictures from the same event were posted last October,” Dupree wrote. (X) “I

Babies are proverbially easy to steal from, and California is going to swipe the very diapers off their bottoms.
Of course, California Gov. Gavin Newsom has promised the opposite, announcing a program to provide “free” diapers to newborns. This is meant to appear as a generous and pro-baby plan, and Newsom was even applauded by some pro-life and pro-family writers and activists.
But this is California, notorious for fraud and boondoggles ranging from fake hospices to the high-speed rail train to nowhere. So, in evaluating this program, it is pointless to try to parse the projected cost-per-diaper because California cannot accurately estimate such costs.

A bolt of lightning struck a tree just feet from leftist demonstrators protesting Erika Kirk’s commencement appearance at Hillsdale College Saturday.
Hillsdale history professor Bradley J. Birzer flagged the strike in a post on X near the demonstration site. “Lightning hit this tree during the anti Erika Kirk protest. No joke. Just feet from the protesters,” Birzer wrote. Conservative commentator Josiah Lippincott seized on the moment in his own X post, invoking the memory of the slain TPUSA founder. “Yeah, Charlie is keeping an eye out for us,” Lippincott wrote. More than three dozen protesters rallied outside the Hillsdale County Courthouse hours before the ceremony began, with participants arriving from Macomb,

In a refreshing display of backbone, Tennessee House speaker Cameron Sexton delivered a clear message to the Democrat caucus: Political terrorism will not be tolerated in the Volunteer State. As Sean Davis of The Federalist reported Tuesday, every single member of the House Democratic Caucus has been stripped of all standing committee and subcommittee assignments following their disgraceful conduct during last week’s special session on congressional redistricting. The offenses? Coordinated disruptions inside the Capitol, including setting fires, attacking law enforcement officers, and turning the legislative chamber into a circus.

Critics of “diversity, equity, and inclusion” (DEI) policies often focus on issues such as their Marxist, racialist motives and implications for university admissions policies. However, CIA director John Ratcliffe’s recent decision to release several rescinded biased analyses to the public shows that DEI policies also have practical effects on national policy decision-making.
Ratcliffe announced on February 20, 2026, that the CIA had rescinded 17 analytic reports that contained DEI-related biases and revised and re-released two others. The CIA declassified and released three of the recalled publications to show the kinds of biases embedded in the others.

In the latter half of 2019, just before the world came to a screeching halt for an extended period of time because of COVID-19 and the left’s attempt to do everything it could to destroy our country, I took two trips that left a lasting mark on my sense of patriotism and pride in this country. One was a trip to Nashville for pleasure; the other was a trip to Washington, D.C., for business.
When I was in Washington, in the morning before I left for home, I decided to get up pretty early to beat the traffic. But before doing so, I wanted to swing through the capital

In the final weeks of Joe Biden’s presidency, FBI agents tied to Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation memorialized anew their belief that President Donald Trump broke the law in contesting the 2020 election and secretly arranged to preserve their evidence until 2030 in memos that raise alarm they could revive their prosecution after Trump leaves office.
The FBI memos and emails closing out the controversial Arctic Frost investigation – obtained by Just the News – show the bureau chose not to relinquish the evidence it gathered after Smith went to court to dismiss charges against Trump, even though that is the normal practice for agents. Instead,

During the Biden era, Microsoft was a leader in Big Tech’s push to eliminate fossil fuels and power the world with energy from wind and solar farms.
In January 2020, the company set ambitious goals to become carbon negative within a decade. This meant it would not only power all its operations with energy that produced no greenhouse gas emissions, it would also reduce some of the carbon emissions that other sources produce.
While the company has regularly promoted its commitment to anti-fossil fuel policies since announcing the plan, reports in the past few months suggest its easing back on some of those ambitions. It turns out carbon-negative pledges

Happy Thursday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. (Snip) While this is specifically about the Los Angeles mayoral race, it's also about being in the political minority for a long time.
Even though California remained perfectly blue for the purposes of the 2024 presidential election, there were some redward shifts in precincts similar to those we saw elsewhere. It may not have been a revolution, but it was encouraging.
To the surprise of none of us on the right, California keeps swirling down the toilet while the Democrats are in charge. That's led to some very faint hopes for the Republican Party

Well, friends, if you support President Donald Trump and oppose the left, the game is up. He’s done it. Zohran Mamdani, New York City’s bright young communist mayor, has balanced the city’s budget without raising taxes or cutting a dime from social services. Leftists already loved him for being a Muslim, a migrant, and an America-hating Marxist, and now they love him all the more, for don’t you see, he has proven, in the teeth of racist, xenophobic, far-right opposition, that socialism works!
If you believe that, I have a very fine bridge that would make a lovely addition to your backyard, and it’s extremely reasonably priced. But over at Threads,

Former MLB star Noah Syndergaard advised the New York Mets to “stop hanging out with” New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, in response to their performance this season.
In an interview with Outkick’s Tomi Lahren, Syndergaard spoke about the New York Mets, and how the team’s performance this season did not make sense to him, given its “payroll.” Currently, the New York Mets are in fifth place in the National League East and have a 16-25 record.
“What advice would you give the New York Mets right now? Looking from your position, you know, it could be better,” Lahren said.
“Stop hanging out with socialist mayors, I guess,” Syndergaard responded.

I have a couple of friends who are liberals -- not those liberals who have reached what I call “the incurable terminal stage.” Nor are they the psychotics who, the moment they are exposed to facts or viewpoints different from theirs become wild-eyed and hysterical. Even so, on certain topics their ability to reason seems to break down.
A couple of months back, the issue of illegal aliens came up. They voiced the usual talking points on the topic: the aliens are just trying to build a better life, they pay taxes, only a few commit crimes, etc. They did not state they are being kidnapped and put in concentration camps.
