The red-state counteroffensive is underway. Tennessee Governor Bill Lee announced Friday that he is calling a special legislative session next week to review and redraw Tennessee’s congressional districts after the U.S. Supreme Court delivered a major ruling that struck down race-driven mapmaking schemes and weakened one of the Left’s favorite redistricting weapons. Lee said the move is necessary to ensure Tennessee’s congressional districts “accurately reflect the will of Tennessee voters” and to comply with election qualifying deadlines. The special session is expected to begin Tuesday, May 5.

I think all this gerrymandering crapola would end if they would just make districts follow county lines...simple solution....

The democrats always loved gerrymandering because it invariably favored their interests while they hid behind the voting rights act. Now the democrats are whining because the playing field will be more even. This is a classic example of finding out what FAFO means.

Expanding on 1, then let the most populous county alone award the state's electoral votes. Hey, it works in Illinois!

The South has been oppressed for decades with the VRA which forced them to have racial districts, allowing the Democrats to pick up 12-15 seats in the House. Even after re-districting, Texas still has 3-4 racially gerrymandered districts that should be eliminated. The Democrats win at the ballot box, because they have set all the rules, gerrymandered all the voting districts, count all the votes in the major metropolitan areas, mail ballots to everyone on the dirty voter rolls, and continue election day until they are ahead.

What would be unpardonable is if US President Donald J. Trump simply replaced a brutal Islamic dictatorship with an equally brutal non-Islamic dictatorship -- as seen in other adversaries of the West such as Russia, China, and North Korea. At the height of the violence in mid-January, Trump memorably told the Iranian protesters that "HELP IS ON ITS WAY", while calling on the anti-regime activists to "seize control of your destiny." Iran is still drawing out negotiations as it reconstructs its nuclear and missile sites. Meanwhile, concerns are growing that Trump is losing interest in the plight of ordinary Iranians. He has recently been stating that he no longer regards regime—

MILAN, Italy — While President Donald Trump and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni may have been somewhat feuding over Trump’s criticisms of Pope Leo XIV and NATO during the Iran war, there remains deep ties between the movements that elected both of the leaders in their respective countries. Matteo Salvini, the Deputy Prime Minister of Italy and leader of the Lega or League political party that rounds out the coalition that put Meloni in as Prime Minister, held a huge rally a couple weeks ago in Duomo Square here in Milan alongside other major European conservatives like Jordan Bardella from France and Geert Wilders from the Netherlands.

A senior Iranian military official warned Saturday that a “renewed conflict” with the United States is “likely” after President Donald Trump said he is “not satisfied” with Tehran’s latest proposal and signaled military options remain on the table, saying he “can’t imagine” the offer would be acceptable given Iran has “not yet paid a big enough price” for its actions over the past 47 years. Speaking to reporters before departing West Palm Beach, Florida, President Trump said he would review the proposal after being briefed only on the “concept of the deal,” noting, “They’re going to give me the exact wording now…

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., is receiving backlash from GOP lawmakers for pushing former President Biden's Justice Department to block the merger of JetBlue and Spirit Airlines. “The 14,000 employees at Spirit who’ve lost their job loss, the travelers who will now pay higher fares, and the shareholders and debt holders who have been wiped out can thank Elizabeth Warren,” Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) wrote on X on Saturday. “Electing left politicians, who have ZERO business experience, has consequences.” Texas Sen. Ted Cruz reposted a critical Warren post and wrote, “Stunning.” Warren defended her advocacy against the merger by blaming a federal judge for stopping it.

new report from the U.S. Government Accountability Office found that several major U.S. weapon systems are becoming significantly more expensive to operate and maintain, with some programs seeing steep cost increases and missed opportunities for savings. In the report, the GAO found the department identified 14 weapon systems with what it classifies as “critical” operating and support cost growth out of 36 systems reviewed in fiscal years 2023 and 2024. The report defines the critical threshold as “at least a 25% increase” over recent estimates or “at least a 50% increase” over original baselines. Fresh off the news that over 62,000 federal jobs have been eliminated or relocated out of Washington since President Donald Trump took office for his second term, another 200 jobs will be relocated from the swamp to Iowa and Georgia. “Consolidating support operations in Iowa, strengthening scientific work in Georgia, and aligning staff with mission needs will reduce duplication and improve accountability,” Deputy Secretary of Agriculture Stephen A. Vaden said about the recent shift. The Trump USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) is relocating roughly two-thirds of the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) National Capital Region (headquarters) workforce from the Washington, D.C. area.

During a press briefing in the Oval Office on Thursday, the media asked about the White House Correspondents' Dinner shooting on Saturday. They asked President Donald Trump if he was "nervous" about it happening again, another assassination attempt. There have already been multiple efforts. Trump said, "I don't think about it... If I did, I wouldn't be effective." That's a pretty astonishing answer, but at this point, after Saturday, he seems to have adopted a very zen approach to it. He was remarkably calm about it on Saturday, even giving a briefing right after it happened. He seemed more concerned about checking on and reassuring everyone else then.

A large Roman Catholic diocese pushed back at criticism Friday after Pope Leo XIV appointed a former illegal immigrant as a bishop amid heightened tensions between the Vatican and Washington over refugees and ICE enforcement. Leo nominated Bishop Evelio Menjivar-Ayala as bishop of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, which covers all of West Virginia. Menjivar-Ayala originally arrived in San Ysidro, California, smuggled in a car trunk after making several prior attempts as a teenager to flee guerrilla war-torn El Salvador. The bishop has also been critical of increased immigration enforcement measures, calling them a human rights concern and responding directly to critiques of the church from fellow Catholics in the Trump administration ...

From 1946 to 1964, the U.S. Census Bureau tells us that more than 76 million babies were born. Why 1964 as a cutoff point? That's the year that the birth control pill was introduced in the U.S., and the birth rate began to decline. Today, we're simply referred to as "Boomers." We grew up in a period of massive wealth creation, painful social change, and the specter of nuclear annihilation hanging over our heads. All of that impacted our worldview and led to a mixed record of accomplishments

Yet the constant drumbeat continues: there are jihad attacks around the world virtually every day, and increasingly in the United States. All of their perpetrators insist they acted in accord with Islamic teachings. There is a distressingly

The threat elevation signals that a terrorist attack is now considered highly likely, per Counter Terrorism Policing. On April 30, the UK’s Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre raised the national threat level from “substantial” to “SEVERE.” Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood confirmed the change,
