A White House Correspondents’ Dinner volunteer said the suspected gunman appeared to assemble a “long” weapon in a lightly monitored area near the terrace-level entrance before opening fire and rushing toward the ballroom.
The witness, Helen Mabus, a volunteer working the event who said she is from Harrisburg, Pa., described a “makeshift room” near the entrance where bar carts were being stored and where “there was no security” at the time.
“He was in that room […] he grabbed it out of a bag or something,” Mabus said, adding that the weapon “was long” and “didn’t look like a typical gun.”

As the President just said he is from California. His name is out. 31 years old.

The nut balls seem to be everywhere now. I don't want or need to speculate and I could be wrong but calling Trump Hitler, King, dictator and an enemy of democracy by the press and Democrats every day 24/7 is bound to bring out the loons who think that they are out to save the world.

This is by my count the 4th attempt on President Trump's life. The first was the FBI raid on his home with shoot to kill orders, the second was Butler, the third was the golf course, and now the White house correspondents. May God continue to protect Donald Trump.

Will left-wing media, pols, et al, tone down the TDS hate, or will I hear them blame the right somehow?

There are two fairly common folding long guns which fire pistol ammunition, like 9mm. This would be the reason that the officer's vest stopped the bullet. Actual rifle cartridges require much stronger, heavier vests, which the officer could have been wearing. We don't know what the weapon was, yet, although apparently not a handgun.
And if it was an AR pattern rifle, they can be pretty quickly reassembled from two parts which are shorter.
The fact that many describe the shots as quieter, one even suggesting 'a silencer went off', may indicate one of the folding ""pistol caliber carbines", which usually have 16 inch barrels. Comparing the sound of pistol ammo fired in a 4 or 5 inch pistol barrel to the same ammo fired in a 16 inch barrel, the long barrels are far quieter.

Seems like he had some inside information that the area where he assembled the weapon would have no security.

# 10 is correct. This has a “ very bad smell to it”. Like the Butler attempted assassination, so many things that are in question and have never been answered…..

Yes, #8 - KelTec and High Point both make a folding 9mm 'rifle'. If the gunman fired at least 10 rounds (which someone said they heard at least 10 shots), it was probably the KelTec. The High Point I think has a 7 or 8 round mag while the KelTec sub2000 uses Glock mags, which can have a higher capacity, depending on which ones you buy.

Why was there an unsecured room anywhere near this event? Did I read that right?

Reports coming later said a shotgun... one reporter said it was 'not like a normal gun'.
Given that most media types know very close to exactly nothing about guns, this may mean nothing at all.
California crazy, not just a joke any more.

#2, a firing squad of one using HIS gun. A raffle to raise money toward the salary of the new hire who replaces the fired person who let the nut and his weapon get as close as he did. Better yet, let the agent who was shot, be the firing squad.

The Dem strategy seems to be:
1. Win by voter fraud.
2. If that does not work, find a woke judge and win in the courts.
3. If that does not work, shoot to kill.

It will be worth checking not only Allen's cell phone for any calls/texts/Whats Aps he took or made just before his rampage but also check all of the cell phones carried by the msm, SS, and police - anyone who would have known that the makeshift room was low-security.
