Irony: Conservatives Won in Hungary

Original Article

Conservatives were down in the dumps about Viktor Orbán's loss in the parliamentary election in Hungary. As Beege wrote last night, perhaps that sentiment was a bit premature, based more on the European Union's desire to replace Orbán than any real reason to worry about his successor, Péter Magyar. Magyar, after all, was not some socialist opponent of Orbán, but until recently his right-hand man. He defected from Orbán over what appear to be legitimate concerns about massive corruption in the Orbán regime, rather than over policy differences with the political platform of Orbán's party, Fidesz. The European Union may have made noises about corruption in Hungary, but its real gripe

The Mystery Sweeping D.C.: Who Executed
the Political Hitjob That Destroyed Eric Swalwell?

The same eagle-eyed journalists who were gobsmacked — gobsmacked, I say! — to discover that Joe Biden’s brain was AWOL are now feigning disbelief over the Eric Swalwell sexual assault allegations. Who knew this young, promising, handsome politician, who was elected to Congress in his early 30s and was poised to become California’s next governor, had such a dark side? Well, apparently everyone: If true, it sets a peculiar timeline: Swalwell joined Congress in 2013. For over a dozen years, he was a powerful member of the political elite. A popular presence on cable TV shows, Swalwell always made time for the mainstream media.
Peter Schweizer: Eric Swalwell’s Sudden
Political Death a Strategic Hit Job

Rep. Eric Swalwell’s sudden political death was no accident, but a strategic hit job by an unethical California Democratic Party and its media enablers. “Swalwell was pushed out for strategic purposes,” says investigative journalist Peter Schweizer. Call it the law of the jungle. In this case, Swalwell was running strongly in the leadup to California’s June 2 “jungle primary” election for governor, which will eliminate all but the top two vote-getters of either political party who then advance to the November election. With so many Democrat candidates splitting support, Republican Steve Hilton was leading in state polls, so someone had to go.

With the allegations of sexual harassment and assault against now-former Democrat Congressman Eric Swalwell (CA-14) that have been reported over the last week, we've been asking a lot of questions about Swalwell's bestie, Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ). As RedState reported, the bromance between the two has been well documented, going back to the days when Gallego was also a member of the House of Representatives and the two were roommates. Swalwell, in fact, called Gallego his "best friend in the world" as recently as November, a characterization the first-term senator seemed to cheerfully embrace. Swalwell and Gallego are close enough

WASHINGTON – President Trump claimed Thursday that the US and Iran have a “good” chance of finalizing a peace deal in the coming days after the Islamic Republic agreed to two major demands put forward by the White House — and teased that he may go to Pakistan himself to seal the agreement. “It’s very important that Iran does not have a nuclear weapon, and they’ve agreed to that,” Trump told reporters as he left the White House for a two-day western trip. “Iran’s agreed to that, and they’ve agreed to it very powerfully.”

Israel and Lebanon have reached a ceasefire, President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social on Thursday, after Israel’s continued bombing of its neighbor emerged as a major sticking point in the U.S.’s talks with Iran over the broader conflict. “I just had excellent conversations with the Highly Respected President Joseph Aoun, of Lebanon, and Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, of Israel,” Trump wrote. ”These two Leaders have agreed that in order to achieve PEACE between their Countries, they will formally begin a 10 Day CEASEFIRE at 5 P.M. EST.”

n recent decades, it has become an accepted feature of American national politics that the party in power will lose seats in both the House of Representatives and the Senate in mid-term elections. There are many reasons for this, not the least of which is that the party that is not in power has a wealth of adherents who are upset and therefore motivated to vote. There are other factors, but the one thing that always looms over every election like a huge, predatory bird is the economy. Now the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) has provided to our sister site Townhall some polling numbers

Asia-Pacific markets rose Wednesday, tracking overnight gains in U.S. stocks, as oil prices fell amid rising hopes of a diplomatic solution to the Middle East conflict. A White House official told CNBC on Tuesday that a second round of negotiations between Washington and Tehran was under discussion. Nothing has been officially scheduled yet, the official said, who asked not to be named to discuss the administration’s internal plans. “We’ve been called by the other side,” President Donald Trump said Monday. “They’d like to make a deal very badly, he added.

US President Donald Trump tells ABC News reporter Jonathan Karl he was not thinking about extending the ceasefire with Iran, because it most likely won’t be necessary. “I think you’re going to be watching an amazing two days ahead,” Trump says amid renewed talks with Iran for a deal. “I really do.” “It could end either way, but I think a deal is preferable because then they can rebuild,” Trump tells the reporter. “They really do have a different regime now. No matter what, we took out the radicals. They’re gone, no longer with us.”

There have been some panicky recent reports emanating from Russian sources about a new Ukrainian drone. The Russians call them "Martians" and the seem to be a significant upgrade over the drones that Russian forces have become used to dealing with. Sergei ‘Zergulio’ Kolyasnikov, military correspondent for pro-Putin newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda, warned of a “qualitative change at the front”. He admitted: “Ukraine has introduced a new generation [of drones], which is creating serious logistics challenges.”... He added: “From what we currently know, these drones operate day and night, and are inaudible — except in the final seconds, when they dive…. “They are undetectable

WASHINGTON — Lebanon and Israel held their first direct diplomatic talks in decades on Tuesday in Washington following more than a month of war between Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah militant group, with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio calling it a “historic opportunity” but making clear that no breakthrough agreement would happen right away. In a statement after the two-hour session ended, the State Department praised the two sides for what it called “productive discussions on steps toward launching direct negotiations between Israel and Lebanon.” Hezbollah opposed the direct talks and was not represented, appearing to step up its fire on northern Israel as the discussions began.

One of the fundamental tenets of Christianity is that Jesus is the Son of God and that he is the Messiah (or Christ) — God’s chosen deliverer for His people. Jesus’ role as the Messiah fulfilled God’s promises of redemption. “In the Bible, the Messiah is the anointed king through whom God establishes his rule over the world,” explains the Lexham Theological Wordbook. (Snip) There’s apparently still some confusion about Jesus’ Messianic role — that is, if you get your theology from The View. Joy Behar, that brilliant theological mind, said something that was as ignorant as it was blasphemous.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu is handing out $500 vouchers to migrants so they can enjoy haircuts, massages and other self-care benefits, despite the city's budget plunging nearly $50 million short. Applicants who are 'low-income, isolated queer and trans migrants, asylum seekers and refugees' are prioritized for the 'wellness allowance.' The initiative, called 'Boston Matters', was created by OUTnewcomers, a nonprofit that advocates for LGBTQ+ migrants in Boston alongside the Mayor's Office for Immigrant Advancement, Mass Daily News reported. Applicants get $250 to $500 toward 'non-clinical care' completely funded by the city agency, which is run by the Democrat's administration.

There’s a MeToo reckoning happening on the Hill, and it’s going to shake up both parties, honestly. For now, Democrats are left taking it on the chin as former Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) steps back from public life in disgrace. The California liberal, who was leading in California’s gubernatorial race, saw his career destroyed in less than 72 hours after multiple sexual misconduct and rape allegations derailed his campaign. He withdrew from the governor’s race and later resigned. His resignation came hours after another accuser claimed the former congressman had violently raped her in 2018. This follows a previous allegation by a former staffer in 2019. Former pharmaceutical executive

(X) "Anybody with an elementary school understanding of foreign policy could have told you that the Strait of Hormuz was going to get shut down," Hogg said. "That is exactly what happened." "And who controls it right now?" Jennings asked. Instead of answering the question, Hogg deflected. "Why are gas prices so high then?" "Why were they high during Biden's administration?

Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger has, since her election as a “moderate” Democrat last fall, quickly proved that she’s neither a moderate nor even remotely intelligent. If she were, she’d never have agreed to sign Virginia onto the left’s unconstitutional scheme to bypass the Electoral College. With Spanberger’s signature this week, Virginia became the 18th state to join the “National Popular Vote Compact.” States that do so agree that, regardless of how their state votes for president, their Electoral College votes will go to the winner of the national popular vote. Justice Brett Kavanaugh is accustomed to unrelenting personal attacks from the left that began with his nomination to the Court. This week, however, the ad hominem insults came not from cable programs but a colleague. Justice Sonia Sotomayor used an appearance at the University of Kansas School of Law to level a personal dig at Kavanaugh as an out-of-touch elitist. I have long criticized the growing number of public statements by justices on controversial subjects and cases, including Justice Sotomayor. However, this appearance represented a new low in lashing out at a colleague as effectively blinded by his own privilege. In her comments, Sotomayor raised Kavanaugh’s concurrence in

Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor is widely known as a liberal jurist who can reliably be expected to vote with her leftist colleagues, Justices Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson, on virtually every issue, as the three mostly march in lockstep. Ketanji Brown Jackson, in particular, seems to decide cases based on her own personal opinion, not relying too much on that pesky old Constitution. But now Sotomayor can add a new adjective to her profile: “obnoxious.” The Obama-appointed jurist took the unusual step of making a personal attack on a fellow justice, Brett Kavanaugh, at an appearance at the University of Kansas School of Law on April 7.

He is, as one might say in the otherwise awesome Lone Star State, as useless as mammaries on a bull. Today, Cornyn is a non-player timeserver; it’s tomorrow that we need to worry about.

The woman was part of the city's 'Are You Okay?' program, where participants agree to get a daily welfare check call, and she wasn't answering those, either. Police showed up at her house to find her garage partially open and her car in the garage. When they entered the home, however, they found a plot twist they did not expect.
