The ‘Disease’ That Drives The Democrats

Argentina President Javier Milei recently had some sharp words for the political left. But his observation is backed by more than his experience. Research makes it clear that the various strains of leftism, from today’s American Democratic Party to Democratic Socialists to green radicals to the tens of millions of voters who are attracted to progressive candidates and policies, are fueled by an emotional crisis. We beg our brothers and sisters on the left to consider why they do what they do. Milei, a defender of laissez-faire economic policy, said he once “thought being on the left was a mental problem.”

Assuredly, we already have known about the pathology of liberalism. It’s good to see somebody put it in text like this article. We’re not alone.

Michael Weiner, a.k.a. "Michael Savage", formerly host of the 'Savage Nation' radio show and now podcast, long said that "Liberalism is a mental disorder". I agree, and this article backs that up.

One can no more negotiate with liberals than one can negotiate with bacteria. Ideologies are irrational, by definition. Power is the only thing hat matters. The struggle for Freedom against totalitarian socialism will not be resolved until the former totally destroys the latter.

#3 Savage was right when he also talked about the 3 Major themes: Borders, language, and culture. This is what the Left is trying to change with the millions of illegal aliens that poured into our country during the Biden years. The evil Left wants to destroy everything our country, Americanism, stands for. We're praying for our national preservation.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a correlation between mental health and church attendance. A lot of clergy might be liberal, but "Look not upon my sins, but on the faith of my Church". Our bishop is liberal, but my parish priest is pretty conservative. There was a very liberal priest at my former parish, but he kept his politics out of his sermons. He was my wife's favorite priest, despite his politics, but I always thought he was a little too glib in conversation. Still, I don't know how many times he came over to pray over my wife and give her the Sacrament of the Sick while she was on her death bed.

"For the sake of our republic, don’t be crazy." I might point out that asking the Left to do something for the "sake of the Republic" is spitting into the wind. Part of the source of their great unhappiness is that they are self focused. When they don't get what THEY want, they become incensed. While they might claim they are going something "for democracy", they really are not. They are after personal goals that they claim are required for democracy. When all your losses are taken personally, they become an assault on YOU. That is more painful and harder to set aside, creating higher levels of unhappiness. This is all wrapped up in the great sense of entitlement that has become common. Society has been told that everyone is entitled to their own viewpoint and that all viewpoints are equally valid and valuable. That is a lie. There are many, perhaps most, things that can be shown to be correct or better vs. wrong or worse. Here is a simple one. Overeating and becoming overweight is bad for your health. So many people struggle with this problem and feel bad about themselves that we decided to "fix" it by telling people that they are "big and beautiful" and therefore "OK". But the reality is, they are NOT healthy. If someone tries, lovingly, to tell them they are risking their health, they can get angry. They blame the people that are concerned for their health. They are unhappy because they feel that the people they trusted are "against" them. The same thing happens with so many Leftist issues that have been tried and clearly fail, but Leftists are angry that others won't accept what they want because they have personalized the issues.

I grew up in an independent, real American area where family, hard work and accomplishment in honest endeavors was valued above everything else. I did not run into serious Liberalism until I began spending some time on various college campuses. Many professors were ravaged by the disease and they spread it to the more gullible students. Now it seems like it has spread to nearly one hundred percent of those "teachers" and their delusional mushbrained product. The trending philosophy is not in building something, it's tearing things down.

I might be straying a bit far from the OP's subject...but here goes:. In addition to being focused on intentions instead of results, I've noticed that libs seem to think consequences for their (bad) decisions should fall on anybody but themselves. That includes taxes/other peoples' money, justice for wrong-doing (source of much hypocrisy!), and abortion (can't be inconvenienced).

At the behest of abortion activist groups, the Biden administration’s Department of Justice weaponized the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act to disproportionately prosecute and jail pro-lifers for exercising their First Amendment-protected right to protest, a new report reveals. The 882-page report released on Tuesday details, with five key findings, exactly how the DOJ under Biden executed its years-long lawfare campaign that put nearly two dozen of its pro-life political opponents in prison. The investigation was triggered by President Donald Trump’s February 2025 “Eradicating Anti-Christian Bias” executive order and former Attorney General Pam Bondi’s simultaneous “Restoring the Integrity and Credibility of the Department of Justice” memo.

The issue is no longer whether the regime in Tehran is under strain — it clearly is — but whether Washington is preparing, consciously or not, to replace a brutal clerical dictatorship with a brutal military one. The idea that a military structure could serve as a "moderate" transitional governing authority in Iran seems to rest on the fragile assumption that professionalism leads to moderation. Regional history says otherwise. From Egypt to Pakistan, militaries that stepped in to "restore order" entrenched their own authoritarian rule. Iran offers no reason to believe it would be different.

The Strait of Hormuz in the Middle East is hardly the only waterway on President Donald Trump’s mind at the moment. While Trump and the international media may be talking about the Strait of Hormuz nonstop, the broader questions about other sea lanes and shipping waterways have very much dominated the geopolitical discussion worldwide upon Trump’s return to the White House and have been at the center of tensions between the U.S. and China, set for a worldwide primetime showdown when Trump visits Beijing in May. Equally disturbing is the role of Al-Jazeera itself. Owned, funded, and controlled by the government of Qatar, Al-Jazeera, particularly its Arabic-language channel, has long provided a platform for Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood movement. Its coverage frequently echoes Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood narratives, and amplifies anti-Israel propaganda and antisemitic rhetoric. Reports by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) have documented Al-Jazeera providing a platform for guests who assert that Jews are "enemies of Muslims and all humanity" or that they control global affairs.

By blocking Iranian exports in retaliation for the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the Trump administration is poised to strip the cash-strapped regime in Tehran of one of its last streams of revenue. President Donald Trump ordered the blockade to begin on Monday after negotiations in Pakistan between U.S. and Iranian officials ended in a stalemate. In those negotiations, Iranian officials steadfastly refused to drop their demand for a new role in governing the vital waterway. Iran, which has effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz since the beginning of the conflict with the U.S. earlier this year,

Whoever’s calling the shots in Iran wasted yet another chance for peace over the weekend, and now President Donald Trump will again call Tehran’s bluff. Iran’s negotiators refused to satisfy America’s demands Saturday in talks in Pakistan, as regime leaders bet that playing the Strait of Hormuz card would get Trump to blink. Instead, he played it right back at them — announcing his own blockade, so that Iran’s oil exports (which had continued despite the war) will also be blocked.

In peace, there’s nothing so becomes a man as modest stillness and humility (nothing personal, you understand), but when the blast of war blows in our ears, then imitate the action of the tiger. Stiffen the sinews, conjure up the blood, and disguise fair nature with hard-favored rage. You might also want to lend the eye a terrible aspect and let it pry through the portage of the head like the brass cannon and blah blah blah. I’m sure you can improvise all this. Just set the teeth and stretch the nostril wide, hold hard the breath, and bend up every spirit to his full height.

Before he launched a daring military capture of the dictator Nicholas Maduro, President Donald Trump brought the Venezuelan economy to its knees with a naval blockade that strangled the nation’s oil revenues. If Iran refuses to accept the final deal the United States offered Saturday, Trump could bomb Tehran back to the “Stone Ages” as he vowed. Or he could reprise his successful blockade strategy to choke an already teetering Iranian economy and ratchet up diplomatic pressure on China and India by cutting them off one of their key sources of oil.

Why? Because Americans who are not die-hard leftists “can no longer live with radical, extreme, self-destructive, communist SUICIDE BOMBERS.”

Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger (D) on Monday signed into law a bill eliminating tax exemptions for multiple organizations connected to the Confederacy. Democrats in the Virginia House and Senate passed HB167 with vote totals of 62-35 and 21-17, respectively, earlier this year. The bill specifically removes the Virginia Division of the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC) and the Confederate Memorial Literary Society, among other similar groups, from the list of organizations exempt from state property taxes. The UDC, a nonprofit, was founded in 1894 by women “seeking to honor their family members and ancestors” who served in the Confederate military or contributed to the Southern war effort, its website states.
