Pope Leo XIV, the lamentably political pontiff

But maybe Leo isn’t a fan of Exodus or Deuteronomy. Or the Bible. Maybe he is a cafeteria Catholic. Or maybe he is a closet Muslim. Or maybe he really doesn’t believe there’s a difference. There is a great wall protecting Vatican City. The wall is two miles long and 39 feet tall. It is made of thick, solid brick.
Pope Leo IV ordered the construction of the massive barrier around the year 850 A.D. to shield the city-state from invaders. It was deemed crucial to keeping invaders out.
But the fortification, stout as it is, isn’t stout enough to keep the staggering and repulsive hypocrisy emanating from Pope Leo XIV in.

Leo destroyed his reputation and that of the church. He joined the political fray, and is now fair game for all criticism, dismissal, and the disrespect he has bought for himself.

He's quite a disappointment, as a person and as a Pope.

Has the Pope not noticed that Christianity is under attack worldwide? And that one large and determined group in particular- Muslims- are determined to kill all Christians as well as all Americans?
Does he really think Christians and Muslims can somehow just “get along”?
Does he not know history? Who was the enemy that caused Pope Urban II to call for the First Crusade? Who conquered most of Spain and weren’t kicked out for 800 years? The answer to both questions is Muslims.
It doesn’t sound as though the current Pope is defending the faith. Scary times we live in.

The Pope has lots to criticize about the US, but none that I've heard about the corrupt nations that cause their people to flee, unless of course most of those coming here are doing so for economic reasons. The US can't fix all of the worlds problems. So Pope, how about some discussion about countries such as Mexico, China and most of the middle east and Africa?

Leo was openly anti-Trump before becoming Pope. He's a total leftwing nut just like other recent Pontiffs who have stacked the cardinals tasked with choosing a Pope with Leftists.

"Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's" ,,,This Pope is forcing himself into the Caesars/Governments realms, not remaining in His.
Point to consider: Popes are "Selected" much the way Dem and Leftist political leaders are...behind closed doors, by a party of un elected power brokers, who's information and reasons for the choice are not subject to public disclosure or debate...and once "Elevated" to a seat, they tend to stay for LIFE.

Many of Leo's faithful are now skeptical that his spiritual authority remains uncorrupted by his political leanings. JP2 and B16 were both shaped by their experience of Communism's hostility towards the Church. Francis and Leo have seemed rather more comfortable with the Left's dogmatic humanism.

The Pope is on political matters an ordinary human being with a right to express his erroneous views. At a guess he has no idea what the views are of ordinary Iranians and he thinks he is defending them from being bombed. Lots of people are making the same dumb mistake. His political opinions do not matter any more than anyone else's. In this case he is dressing them p with some dramatic but baseless opinions about whose prayers God listens to. Everyone is rightly ignoring that - as he is trying to justify a political intervention which is not his job and he knows it, and for which he is not graced especially. You might as well lay off him. The Catholics still love him and we know when to listen and when not. Save your energy

Before he was Pope Leo, he was Chicago Cardinal Robert Prevost. He had quite the leftist twitter feed including his TDS bona fides. Whatever he calls himself, he has allowed his political bias to influence his faith. Something a spiritual leader should never do. Add to it that this is coordinated. Recall David Axelrod visited the Pope prior to recent statements of the Pope. It’s apparent that the dems want to present a false choice to American Roman Catholics going into the midterms: pick either Trump or your faith. Shameless? Yes. But we’re talking about dems here.

I read somewhere that it's estimated that two thirds of the members of the College of Cardinals are gay. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Leo was, too. That would certainly explain his affinity for the reigning Ayatollah.

Another Iranian woman is about to be, or has already been executed for not wearing a diaper on her head. So, popie, are you going to say anything about that, sweetheart? And I ask this question as a practicing Catholic and Eucharistic Minister.
Just another Marxist, worse than Francis. How I long for the days of JP2. Now that was a Pope.

Pope Commie II hails from Chicago - and a more depraved US city would be hard to find. Naturally, as am American, he's a rude buttinsky with a big mouth that he shoots off at inopportune times, which is any time. . And he hates Trump, so he punched that ticket . How original. The scary part - he is allied with Obama, the most evil creature ever to take up space in the White House. Is he the Anti-Christ?

After the in your face (stupid) comments by this Pope, I will begin to worship God somewhere other than the catholic church. I'm done. I see that President Trump is also finished with the Italian PM Meloni. She's a user. When she needed support Trump was there. I hope Trump is learning that some of his choices in the political world are not very good.
My only advice to Trump is, don't go after this Pope. Let the people in the catholic church see him for what he really is and they will leave as I have.

Reply 18 thinks this will call a lot of Catholics to leave the church. I don't think so. I only contribute to my local church and I will continue to support it unless the pastor violates his responsibilities. Then I'll look for another church or attend mass online, but I won't leave the church because of some ninny.

The Pope is not God but acts like it. Back in the 70's, my mom was ex-communicated (divorce or remarriage?) and guess how I felt when hearing about all of the pedophile priests taking advantage of young boys?

The pope is either a fool or has ulterior motivations (I can think of several but don't know which are valid).
