Pope Leo XIV, the lamentably political pontiff

But maybe Leo isn’t a fan of Exodus or Deuteronomy. Or the Bible. Maybe he is a cafeteria Catholic. Or maybe he is a closet Muslim. Or maybe he really doesn’t believe there’s a difference. There is a great wall protecting Vatican City. The wall is two miles long and 39 feet tall. It is made of thick, solid brick. Pope Leo IV ordered the construction of the massive barrier around the year 850 A.D. to shield the city-state from invaders. It was deemed crucial to keeping invaders out. But the fortification, stout as it is, isn’t stout enough to keep the staggering and repulsive hypocrisy emanating from Pope Leo XIV in.

Leo destroyed his reputation and that of the church. He joined the political fray, and is now fair game for all criticism, dismissal, and the disrespect he has bought for himself.

Has the Pope not noticed that Christianity is under attack worldwide? And that one large and determined group in particular- Muslims- are determined to kill all Christians as well as all Americans? Does he really think Christians and Muslims can somehow just “get along”? Does he not know history? Who was the enemy that caused Pope Urban II to call for the First Crusade? Who conquered most of Spain and weren’t kicked out for 800 years? The answer to both questions is Muslims. It doesn’t sound as though the current Pope is defending the faith. Scary times we live in.

The Pope has lots to criticize about the US, but none that I've heard about the corrupt nations that cause their people to flee, unless of course most of those coming here are doing so for economic reasons. The US can't fix all of the worlds problems. So Pope, how about some discussion about countries such as Mexico, China and most of the middle east and Africa?

"Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's" ,,,This Pope is forcing himself into the Caesars/Governments realms, not remaining in His. Point to consider: Popes are "Selected" much the way Dem and Leftist political leaders are...behind closed doors, by a party of un elected power brokers, who's information and reasons for the choice are not subject to public disclosure or debate...and once "Elevated" to a seat, they tend to stay for LIFE.

Many of Leo's faithful are now skeptical that his spiritual authority remains uncorrupted by his political leanings. JP2 and B16 were both shaped by their experience of Communism's hostility towards the Church. Francis and Leo have seemed rather more comfortable with the Left's dogmatic humanism.

The Pope is on political matters an ordinary human being with a right to express his erroneous views. At a guess he has no idea what the views are of ordinary Iranians and he thinks he is defending them from being bombed. Lots of people are making the same dumb mistake. His political opinions do not matter any more than anyone else's. In this case he is dressing them p with some dramatic but baseless opinions about whose prayers God listens to. Everyone is rightly ignoring that - as he is trying to justify a political intervention which is not his job and he knows it, and for which he is not graced especially. You might as well lay off him. The Catholics still love him and we know when to listen and when not. Save your energy

Before he was Pope Leo, he was Chicago Cardinal Robert Prevost. He had quite the leftist twitter feed including his TDS bona fides. Whatever he calls himself, he has allowed his political bias to influence his faith. Something a spiritual leader should never do. Add to it that this is coordinated. Recall David Axelrod visited the Pope prior to recent statements of the Pope. It’s apparent that the dems want to present a false choice to American Roman Catholics going into the midterms: pick either Trump or your faith. Shameless? Yes. But we’re talking about dems here.

This week, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas celebrated America’s 250th anniversary by exposing the greatest threat to the Declaration of Independence today—the ideology of Progressivism. “Progressivism was the first mainstream American political movement—with the possible exception of the pro-slavery reactionaries on the eve of the Civil War—to openly oppose the principles of the declaration,” the justice said in a speech at the University of Texas at Austin Wednesday. “Progressives strove to undo the Declaration’s commitment to equality and natural rights, both of which they denied were self-evident.”

Ten House Republicans joined Democrats on Thursday evening to keep roughly 350,000 Haitian nationals in the United States on Temporary Protected Status (TPS) despite the Trump administration seeking to end the quasi-amnesty. The House passed the measure, led by Reps. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) and Laura Gillen (D-NY), after advancing the bill through a discharge petition maneuver, with help from half a dozen Republicans. Essentially, the bill would keep about 350,000 Haitians in the U.S. via TPS just as President Donald Trump fights in the Supreme Court to end the quasi-amnesty. The 10 House Republicans who joined Democrats to defy the Trump administration and move the bill to the Senate are:

Despite an all-out corporate media propaganda campaign using a few marginalized podcasters as “proof” there is a growing rift between President Donald Trump and Republican voters, new polling shows the opposite is true. Some might find this hard to believe, but social media is not real life. To wit… Between March and April in the far-left Quinnipiac poll, support for Trump among Republicans increased from 72 percent to 81 percent. Similarly, a poll from the Economist/YouGov shows an increase in Republican support for the president. What had been an 82 percent approve, 14 percent disapproval rating in March has risen by four net points to 84 percent approve, 12 percent disapprove.

Speaker Mike Johnson initially attempted to tee up a vote Thursday afternoon on a bill that would extend the federal government's foreign surveillance power for 18 months, a plan supported by the White House.
