The former head of a San Francisco homeless charity has been charged with stealing money intended to help struggling locals avoid homelessness — to fund a “lavish” lifestyle that included luxury cars and trunks full of jewelry. Gwendolyn Westbrook, who was CEO of United Council of Human Services, allegedly grifted more than $1.2 million in public funds — after the organization received tens of millions in government grants over the past 20 years. Prosecutors allege the 71-year-old nonprofit boss skimmed funds through cash withdrawals, payments to herself and improper reimbursements for her personal use. She directly stole $91,000 from the organization and additional funds once held by the charity are “unaccounted for,”

The word is out. Our government streets are paved with gold and all you have to do is just reach down and pick it up. Just come up with a nice-sounding charity and then help yourself.

One thing you can safely bet on, the $1.2 million estimate is seriously low. Strip this crook of everything she has and put her out on the street with the rest of the homeless.

It seems like from all the mass fraud that has been uncovered so far, to scoop up big taxpayer provided bucks, all one had to do during the Biden era, before Trump was elected, was set up some sort of leftist Democrat aligned non-governmental organization (NGO), hang some sort of “humane” sounding name on the NGO, and go from there collecting government “big bucks” of course with a big percentage of those “big bucks” ending up in the pockets of the NGO organizers, and being “kicked back” into leftist, progressive, and socialist Democrat political campaign buckets. Clearly all that has just become a normal part of leftist Democrat politics and a major way that those Democrats stay in political power.

If individual suckers want to throw their money away on NGOs and nonprofits, that's one thing, but no government should be allowed to throw away taxpayer money on either NGOs or nonprofits.

The vessel was carrying a total of 10 “armed” people who Cuban officials claim “intended to carry out an infiltration for terrorist purposes The Interior Ministry alleged assault rifles, handguns, Molotov cocktails and other weapons were found onboard the speedboat. growing number of K–12 students are taking part in walkouts and protests against federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations across the nation, raising questions about the activists radicalizing them. The walkouts, which many school administrators say are a legitimate exercise of the students’ First Amendment rights, have seen increasing incidents of violence and lawlessness, ranging from beatings and scuffles to vandalism. The activist group Dare To Struggle instructed students from six downtown Los Angeles area schools to meet at the “Federal Building by 2pm” to protest deportations.

Here's something on which you can rely to be accurate, every time: When Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has an idea about matters of economics, she's wrong. It's as sure as the sun coming up in the morning; it will, in the east, and Senator Warren will be wrong every time. Nowhere has that been more apparent than in examining the record of her brainchild (I use the term 'brain' advisedly), the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, or CFPB. We are generally correct to be a little skeptical about anything with "Bureau" in the title, but this one has been a real mess.

The Cuban regime may have just sealed its fate. It's not yet clear if the people on board were United States citizens, though many are assuming so since the boat was registered in the U.S. The Interior Ministry's full statement reads: Cuba's Interior Ministry announced on Wednesday that four men on a Florida-registered vessel, possibly a speedboat, were shot and killed by its Border Guard after entering Cuban waters near Santa Clara Province. Six other people aboard the boat were wounded. The regime claims that the people on board the vessel shot at the Border Guards first.

President Trump boasted he pulled off an economic “turnaround for the ages” in the longest State of the Union address in history — while using the US Olympics men’s hockey team as evidence that the country was “winning” like never before. Trump played cheerleader-in-chief to a vast TV audience, describing the country as thriving while bringing stability to the world — and dusting off his signature campaign line about voters fearing the country would be “winning too much” on his watch. The president took the opportunity to attack the Supreme Court for striking down his “reciprocal” tariffs — which he credited for bringing America’s economic “turnaround” —

President Donald Trump’s 2026 State of the Union speech gave every American a front-row seat to see exactly who Democrats are — and more importantly, what they refuse to stand for. According to reports, more than 70 Democrats chose not to attend the speech, but most did, and several times over the course of the evening, they made a choice. They sat. They scowled. They heckled. While Republicans rose time and again in applause, the left side of the chamber looked like a group of children being punished. And Trump noticed. He called them out — repeatedly — for refusing to show even the most basic bipartisan enthusiasm for moments

President Trump's State of the Union speech Tuesday night got extra heated when he relentlessly called out Democrats for supporting sanctuary city policies and refusing to stand for the American people over criminal illegal aliens. Literally, refusing to stand. The President challenged Democrats to affirm their support for the American people over illegal immigrants. And they just couldn't do it. "I'm inviting every legislator to join with my administration in reaffirming a fundamental principle," he said, glaring at the Democrat side of the room. "If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support." The principle?

Wild video shows masked ruffians blatantly attacking a police cruiser while an officer was inside during a chaotic street takeover in Maryland. Video and witness accounts show drivers swarming the intersection of East West Highway and Connecticut Avenue shortly after midnight Feb. 22 in Gaithersburg, Maryland, blocking traffic in all directions and performing high-speed “donuts” as onlookers stood in the roadway. Montgomery County police said it started around 12:39 a.m., when a large caravan of vehicles tied to takeover activity was spotted heading toward the Silver Spring central business district. Officers moved to monitor the group and closed several intersections to limit access and protect the public.

By now, the video has gone viral with Trump asking a simple question: “If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support. The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal immigrants.” With great timing and a gift for performance and storytelling, Trump pauses and lets the applause grow. He luxuriated in the moment as the Democrats sat there, stone-faced, thinking it would play well at MS-Now. It probably will. Trump wanted all of America to see it and remember it. He set a trap. They walked right into it. “You should be ashamed,” he said.

Censorship, virtue signaling, and overprescribed outrage have become show-business-as-usual. Studios trip over themselves to inject far-left political messaging into nearly every script, award shows have become lectures, and entire careers can be derailed by a single viral moment that stokes a campaign of indignation. The industry’s obsession has created a climate where self-censorship is the norm and challenging the narrative is a career hazard.
