Dems propose bill to classify 70% of Washingtonians
as 'Socially Disadvantaged'

Democrats in the Washington state legislature are pushing a proposal that establishes a list of demographic groups that are presumed to be “socially disadvantaged” for the purposes of state business certification. Based on the breadth of those categories, roughly 70 percent of Washington state residents would fall under the bill’s definition of “socially disadvantaged.” Under existing statute, the Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises (OMWBE) defines a “socially disadvantaged individual” as someone who has experienced racial or ethnic prejudice or cultural bias within American society due to group identity, stemming from circumstances beyond the individual’s control. The agency may also determine social disadvantage on a case-by-case basis.

Define 'socially disadvantaged' Can anyone say - Civil Rights Violation!! Basically WA State will claim anyone, (excluding whites), are automatically disadvantaged - because of skin color, although they don't say that, but their determination is country of origin. This is nothing more than reinstating Affirmative Action/DEI for all minorities, (excluding whites). It's another method of redistributing wealth - take from me and give to you, because your skin color is darker than mine. WA is basically blaming white people for being white. I can't imagine this would pass legal muster, but if it becomes law, how many lives will be ruined before the Courts catch up to it?

The Canadian province of British Columbia (BC) has ended its experiment with legalizing hard drugs, and the consensus among both public officials and citizens is that the program was a complete failure. “This pilot was designed as a time-limited trial with ongoing monitoring built in so we could understand what was working, what wasn’t and where changes were needed. However, the pilot hasn’t delivered the results that we hoped for,” BC health minister Josie Osborne said on January 14 when announcing the impending end of the program. BC legalized possession of up to 2.5 grams of nearly all drugs, including “hard” drugs like heroin, in 2023.
