Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) Director Dr. Mehmet Oz and Deputy Director for Health and Human Services, Jim O’Neill, just released a stunning video from Minnesota. They discuss a former linen factory that was transformed into 400 Medicaid businesses that generated almost $380 million in billing to CMS.
It doesn’t make sense. One industrial building housing almost 400 individual Medicaid businesses that cost taxpayers $380 million in payments for services that are now under investigation. It is almost guaranteed these complex houses fraudulent fake businesses. Director Oz dropped the video on his X account.

As millions of people braced for a massive winter storm to hit two-thirds of the country, grocery store shelves in the South, Midwest and Northeast started to look a little bare.
Two essentials everyone seems to stock up on ahead of winter weather, bread and milk, were hit especially hard. But why do people gravitate to those two items in particular? Milk could go bad if you lose power, after all, and bread isn’t exactly a strong source of nutrition. Accuweather reports the idea of buying milk and bread before a winter storm dates back to the Great Blizzard of 1978, which hit New England.

In 2014, when I wrote the book Liberty Risen: The Ultimate Triumph of Libertarian-Republicans, many reviewers couldn’t understand why I wrote it. I was not (and still am not) a libertarian. So, did I write to support specific Libertarian candidates and/or causes? Or to help further the relevance of libertarian ideology within the GOP?
The truth is that the book was an objective assessment of where the GOP was heading, given the confluence of wealthy donors and frustrated youth who mutually identified as Libertarian—at the time, Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) was even the hip choice for President. Often missed, however,

The Supreme Court on Thursday gave California Democrats a week to respond to the California Republican Party’s request to block the new Democrat-drawn congressional district maps from being used in November.
The request for a response, issued by Justice Elena Kagan, who is handling the emergency-injunction request for the court, surprised many court watchers.
Given that the justices allowed Texas Republicans’ gerrymandered map to stand, most thought the Supreme Court would allow the Los Angeles district court’s ruling earlier this month, validating California’s new map to stand as well.

“The Discombobulator. I’m not allowed to talk about it,” Trump said during an exclusive interview in the Oval Office. I would love to,” the president added, before confirming its use in the stealth operation.

In understandable amusement, Blue Lives Matter wrote on X, “It turns out that ‘report ICE activity hotlines’ had received ‘tips’ about ‘off-duty ICE agents’ drinking at dozens of bars. A day before the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C., 76 House Republicans joined their Democrat colleagues in defeating a measure aimed at preventing taxpayer dollars from bankrolling facilities that perform abortions and “trans” surgeries on children.
The moment came late Thursday afternoon when the GOP-controlled House of Representatives killed an amendment put forward by Rep. Ralph Norman, R-S.C., to a FY2026 government spending bill. The amendment sought to ax Senate-inserted earmarks that allocate millions in taxpayer money to entities that conduct harmful “trans” procedures on minors and abortions.

Texas formally exonerated Tommy Lee Walker, a black man executed in 1957 for the rape and murder of a white woman, a decision the state reached nearly 70 years after it ended his life using the electric chair.
Officials admit that Walker didn’t commit the crime and that his conviction rested on unreliable evidence and racial bias.
This month’s admission didn’t change anything but how history records his name.
A Case Built on Coercion and Silence
Walker’s conviction relied heavily on his confession police received after prolonged interrogation. There wasn’t any physical evidence that connected him to the crime, witness testimony shifted, and his defense counsel didn’t challenge the prosecution’s narrative with meaningful scrutiny.

The entire establishment in Minnesota has mobilized against ICE’s presence here. Renee Good, who ran her vehicle into an ICE officer, apparently on purpose although we will never know for sure what she was thinking, is treated like a second Joan of Arc. Meanwhile, the local, national and international “news” media consistently lie about the men and women of ICE, smearing them as fascist predators.
A classic instance is the five year old boy whom ICE officers saved from possibly freezing to death after his father abandoned him, whereupon the international press falsely alleged that they had “arrested” or “kidnapped” or “detained” the little boy, or “used him as bait.”

In an era when most corporate leaders bend to political pressure, Musk has repeatedly chosen confrontation over compliance when core freedoms are at stake.

A nurse who hoped that Donald Trump‘s White House press secretary would suffer a severe injury during childbirth is no longer employed. This is good news, because someone who wishes grave harm on political opponents should not be treating mothers and babies.
There is a difference that not even all conservatives understand between free speech and explicitly wishing harm or terror on someone. Even the Founders were in agreement that calling for someone’s death or crippling injury is not, in fact, First Amendment-protected speech. And in the case of a nurse, this is particularly relevant if she fantasizes about medical catastrophe

Bills pending in the Virginia state legislature could raise the state income tax a lot. The most likely to pass bill would increase the state income tax rate from 5.75% to 8% on incomes over $600,000 and 10% on incomes over $1,000,000. Another bill would impose an additional 3.8% tax (a “net investment income tax”) on most income above $500,000. If both bills pass, Virginia would have an 13.8% tax rate. That would be higher than what is currently the highest state tax rate in America, the 13.3% rate in California for households with million-dollar incomes.

Since March 2020 there has been an almost continuous refrain that the UK was not prepared for the COVID-19 pandemic – across the mainstream media, at the UK Covid Inquiry and most recently by Dominic Cummings in a Spectator interview. So much so that it seems to have become an accepted ‘truth’ regardless of the actual facts. Nevertheless there are facts, even in the postmodern dystopian world we now live in.Firstly, we did have a detailed UK Influenza Pandemic Preparedness Strategy published in 2011 and it was explicit in saying that it could be adapted to respond to other respiratory virus pandemics,

Distrust “is the new default instinct” in UK society, according to the Edelman Trust Barometer, which examines the trust that people have in business, government, media and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
Its report revealed a deepening erosion of trust as “grievance has devolved into insularity” across the developed world.
It found that some 76% of people in the UK are either unwilling or hesitant to trust someone whose values, facts, problem-solving approaches or cultural background differ from theirs, leaving just 24% open to trusting across divides.
More than a third of Britons (35%) would rather leave a job or move to another department than report to a manager with very different values.

President Donald Trump is predicting that Democrats are gearing up for another government shutdown in order to cripple the economy just prior to this fall’s upcoming midterm elections.
In an appearance on Fox Business, the president was asked by host Maria Bartiromo whether he wanted to see another reconciliation package from congressional leaders.
Trump responded soberly, saying, “I think we’re going to have another problem because I think we’re going to probably end up in another Democrat shutdown.”
The president added, “The shutdown cost us a lot. And I think they’ll probably do it again. That’s my feeling.”President Trump expressed disappointment when talking about economic growth numbers, saying, “You know,

Hilarious Bloomberg interview with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick. The topics are European trade and politics combined with the overlay of Canadian trade and politics. The Bloomberg panelists question Lutnick about the similar “feelings” of the Europeans and Canadians, as it pertains to the outcome of trade discussions. It’s the feelings that make things difficult to negotiate.
Secretary Lutnick doesn’t dismiss the narrative but deconstructs the substance of the topic brilliantly. Lutnick notes the ridiculous nature of the Canadian trade position and their decision to go running to China because their feelings are hurt.

It has been widely reported that the Republican majorities in the Senate and particularly the House of Representatives are at risk in the 2026 midterm elections. This is hard to believe, given recent approval/disapproval polling on the Democrat Party. Last month Quinnipiac and other pollsters reported favorability in the low-to-mid 30s, with congressional Democrats hitting a record low job approval of 18% with 73% disapproval -- the worst since tracking began in 2009.Nevertheless, if the base of the Republican Party is not motivated to vote, there is a possibility that the party could lose its congressional majority.

Beirut has recently become a focal point for a growing network of Iranian-backed Iraqi actors moving money, securing assets, and embedding themselves in an opaque, cash-based economy. In December, Iraq inaugurated a permanent office inside its Beirut embassy, officially to oversee $20 million in reconstruction aid pledged during the Arab Summit in Baghdad in May 2025. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun praised the move as a “gesture of Arab solidarity,” emphasizing the return of Shiite residents to their villages.

Perhaps, like me, you have some people in your life you love who vote Democrat. And perhaps, also like me, you have agreed to disagree on political matters and to just avoid the subject of politics altogether. If your Democrats are like mine, they’re not loons. They’re just misinformed or uniformed, but they are otherwise reasonable. This is key: they are otherwise reasonable.
Well, it’s time to breach that wall and once again talk politics with your reasonable but misguided loved ones. We’ve got a country to save and we can do our part by trying to reach our reasonable loved ones.

For the entirety of the Biden term, Arizona, one of the states abutting the border with Mexico, was an illegal immigration freeway. It’s currently estimated to have as many as 300,000 illegal aliens, although I suspect the number is higher, and Kris Mayes, Arizona’s Democrat attorney general, wants to keep it that way. Not only has she set up an official hotline for doxxing ICE agents, but she’s also promised to prosecute them if they violate state law, and subtly encouraged people to shoot them. This is an amalgamation of illegal, unconstitutional, and downright evil.

Minnesota can’t seem to get out of the news. Once a placid backwater, the state has now become synonymous with bats**t crazy. ICE came to town, and it brought left-wingers, both native Minnesotans and paid professionals, out in force. Things went from bad to worse, and a leftist mob invaded a church on Sunday morning, disrupting services. The mob was led by, among others, former CNN talking head Don Lemon. The Department of Justice, outraged, is pursuing criminal charges against some of the ringleaders.
Ice came to town in a more literal way, too: the high temperature today was -11, the low -22. The far left–i.e.,

Former Special Counsel Jack Smith testified before the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday to field questions about his lawfare against President Donald Trump and egregious investigative tactics. And boy was it a doozy.
Throughout the more-than-5-hour hearing, Republicans pressed Smith on numerous topics, ranging from his questionable appointment to his subpoenaing the phone records of GOP members of Congress as part of his Arctic Frost probe into Trump. For their part, Democrats did everything imaginable to run interference for Smith and obfuscate his abusive investigations.

We reported Thursday on the bizarre trophy FBI officials gave themselves to congratulate their team on the failed Arctic Frost probe, Special Counsel Jack Smith’s Don Quixote-like quest to destroy Donald Trump over alleged “election interference.” Smith himself faced prolonged grilling Thursday at a House of Representatives Judiciary Committee Hearing, and the short version is: he came off looking like a partisan hack who had exactly zero scruples when it came to his maniacal effort to bring down the (at the time private citizen, and now once again president) Donald Trump.

Welcome to "The New Monroe Doctrine," where I give you an update on what's going on in the Western Hemisphere, south of our border, especially as it relates to the United States. First, thank for all the kind emails (yes, I'm still behind on responding) and comments you sent me last week, saying you want more Latin America and Western Hemisphere stuff. I'm actually working on some big stories, but those articles are definitely a passion project and are often research-heavy and, to be honest, not the most lucrative, so I have to balance them out.

A car plowed into a terminal at the Detroit Metro Airport in Michigan Friday night – and the driver bellowed nonsense as he was dragged away from the scene, according to shocking footage and reports.
Wild footage captured the black sedan sitting in the middle of the McNamara Terminal, where startled Delta Airlines employees were working as it smashed through the glass doors of the Romulus, Mich. around 7:30p.m., according to WXYZ.
The driver immediately exited the vehicle with his hands raised and speaking in a daze as security and airport officials rushed to the debris-ridden area.
