"60 Minutes" correspondents Sharyn Alfonsi and Scott Pelley's vocal pushback against CBS News editor in chief Bari Weiss's moves to shake up the outlet have put the duo at risk of being fired, The Post has learned. Both veteran correspondents could get the boot as Weiss, who has run the network since October, works to revamp "60 Minutes," said sources with knowledge of the matter -- who the ongoing intrigue to "Game of Thrones" - style drama. "It's going to be a war," a network insider told the post.

Comments:

When a group of Conde Nast employees noisily protested a layoff outside the firm's human resource director's office, he immediately declared them redundant as well. Ms. Weiss should consider making him an offer.

It would raise the reputation of 60 Minutes from minus 100 to minus 50, if this pair is fired. 60 Minutes lost all its reputation 30 years ago.

Most of the 60 Minutes "Correspondents" are arrogant Lefties. Pelley is one of the worst. Firing him would be well justified, and a good move overall.

Alfonsi and Pelley volunteered to be crash test dummies for Weiss' control of CBS by mouthing off. Given the Leftism in media, there was always going to be a test to see if Weiss has the full support of corporate when the "talent" goes to their Leftist wall. Weiss had to know this. Corporate had to know this. Now we will see if the move to the "center" was really meant or lip service. Remember that Weiss is not a right winger. She is more a centrist and committed to reporting stories accurately with less bias. That, of course, puts her in a head on conflict with the heavily tilted "talent". Management cannot afford to lose this battle and a decisive strike now could set the tone to reduce continual squabbling. This will be interesting to watch.

Bari Weiss should fire them both, immediately. She should also fire the insufferable Lesley Stahl and Bill Whitaker forthwith. Then cancel “60 Minutes”. It’s nothing but leftist lies.

The only remaining good thing about 60 Minutes is that there is a stop watch counting down until the show is over. You know how much longer you need to suffer through the leftist slam the right /US hour.

I am with #3. I haven't watched CBS since Cronkite was there. This sort of thing wouldn't happen if the network had just stuck to straight reporting. It's fine to air reporters giving opinion pieces on either side but make it plain that it's opinion and not insert propaganda into straight news. I don't watch CBS so can't really know what they are up to now but I do see comments about their false and biased reporting on other sites.

When Renee Good drove her car into an ICE agent earlier this month, the left tried to gaslight us into believing she was just some innocent bystander who was just at the wrong place, that she’d just dropped her son off at school and wasn’t supposed to be there. That narrative fell apart fast. Good, we soon learned, was a trained anti-ICE agitator who was absolutely there to obstruct law enforcement. Now we're watching the same playbook unfold with 37-year-old Alex Pretti, the armed agitator shot dead by Border Patrol agents on Saturday in Minneapolis while confronting agents. The talking points are already circulating.

Accountability is coming” to Minnesota, Attorney General Pam Bondi declared as Democrats try to shift public attention away from large-scale government fraud and towards the chaos they have created in Minneapolis. The promise comes after an ICE officer shot a person dead during a Saturday street scuffle while Democrat-allied activists were trying to disrupt a federal law enforcement action. The shooting prompted Democrats to escalate their claims of murder by ICE and their demands that ICE leave the city amid the expanding federal investigation into what many Republicans say is statewide, migrant-enabled, Democratic-backed taxpayer fraud.

In just one sentence, the Minneapolis police chief tacitly endorsed violence against federal immigration officers, and made it clear why the violence continues to escalate without police interference. President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance partly blamed Minnesota authorities and police after an armed and violent protester ended up getting killed in a struggle with Border Patrol yesterday. After all, Minnesota Democrats are totally on the side of the criminal illegal aliens and rioters, and local police refuse to back up the feds. It seems Trump and Vance were even more right than we realized, based on shocking comments from Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara.

One hard-and-fast rule that leftists obey is this: Always accuse political opponents of committing the same transgressions that you are preparing to commit. Accusing innocent people of doing terrible things is dirty politics, but it muddies the waters of public perception just enough to protect the guilty from accountability. When Democrats commit electoral fraud, they accuse Republicans of trying to steal elections. When leftist revolutionaries burn down cities, ambush and murder law enforcement officers, and demand that state and local governments “defund police,” Democrats accuse grandparents and veterans of being “insurrectionists.”
