Backing Off On Deportations Is A Recipe
For A GOP Disaster

Original Article

President Trump and his administration need to see the immigration fight through all the way to the end. Illegal immigrants have to go, every single one of them, no exceptions, no special rules, because they're nice or they have a dog or they're hanging out in the vicinity of a church or it's Tuesday and a full moon. Every single one of them needs to be gone. And if we don't do it, the country is screwed in the long term. In the short term, the Republicans are screwed.

Comments:

When he's right he's right. Immigration enforcement is not inherently disruptive. Dangerous illegal aliens are caught and released on a daily basis. In "red" jurisdictions they are routinely released to ICE without incident. Only in "blue" "sanctuary" jurisdictions must ICE go out into the community to hunt them down and arrest them. Any disruption involved in these arrests is the fault of the demagogues who mandate this nonsense and the insurrectionists who compound it. If demagogic politicians and insurrectionists in the streets can, with media assistance, nullify immigration laws by breaking them, what next? The laws against selling fentanyl? (Crazy? Who would have predicted before inauguration day that congressional Democrats and their media allies would boldly unite to condemn interdiction of vessels transporting fentanyl to the United States? But here we are and so they have.)

Any idea of Trump backing down on deportations must have come from an outhouse somewhere in Minnesota; because it reeks. Or else it is the DNC anti-Trump wing of the Communist party trying to damn-with-faint-praise the most effective American President ever to be elected.

"The shores of Tripoli" Attacks on the United States of America by the pirates of the Barbary Coast commenced almost immediately upon our independence. They would prove to be one of the defining challenges of the Republic, one that would, among other things, give birth to the U.S. Navy and the Marine Corps. As Rush Limbaugh would say, you can never give DemoRoids enough. As more illegal aliens surface, they need to be caught and deported. Also, all who aid and abet them need to be charged, indicted, convicted, and sentenced. This is one zero tolerance policy I approve of.

Want to win in 2026? You are going to need the votes of independents -- and many of those, while they are OK with deporting criminals, do not like the idea of deporting illegals who have worked hard for years and not committed any additional crimes. Those are facts. Why not make a compromise? Propose it in Congress. Here are some things to go into it: Any illegal alien who has been in the US for five years, without collecting welfare, and without committing any felonies or misdemeanors, gets a special green card enabling him or her to stay here indefinitely. Those people cannot become US citizens unless they leave and get on the long list of people immigrating legally. They must pay a fine or back taxes. Only babies born to people here legally are automatically citizens. Only citizens can vote in any federal election; all people are required to provide proof of US citizenship to register to vote. Starting with the 2030 US Census, only US citizens are to be counted for purposes of representation in Congress and in the Electoral College. This compromise will solve some important problems, and Independents will see it as fair, inclining them to vote for the party that proposed it.

Supreme Court justices were stunned Tuesday when lawyers defending Hawaii's so-called "Vampire Rule" -- which restricts carrying guns on privately owned spaces without consent -- pointed to racist laws in their defense of gun control. "I want to understand how you think Black Codes should inform this court's decision-making. It's quite astonishing," conservative Justice Neil Gorsuch pressed attorney Neal Kaytal.

A retired U.S. Space Force colonel, who was forced out of the military under the Trump administration's ban on transgender service members, announced a run for Congress in Northern Virginia. And a senior Navy official removed from her post last year by War Secretary Pete Hegseth launched a congressional bid in South Carolina. Their candidacies highlight a growing political backlash to Trump-era military policies, as former officers removed from service look to re-enter public life through Congress.
