Donald Trump has ordered his special forces commanders to draw up a plan for the invasion of Greenland - but is being resisted by senior military figures, The Mail on Sunday has learned.
Sources say that the policy 'hawks' around the US President, led by political adviser Stephen Miller, have been so emboldened by the success of the operation to capture Venezuela's leader Nicolas Maduro that they want to move quickly to seize the island before Russia or China makes a move.
British diplomats believe that Trump is also motivated by a desire to distract American voters from the performance of the US economy before the mid-term elections

WASHINGTON — The killing of a Minnesota woman by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer is reverberating across Capitol Hill where Democrats, and certain Republicans, are vowing an assertive response as President Donald Trump’saggressive deportation operations spark protests nationwide. Lawmakers are demanding a range of actions, from a full investigation into Renee Good’s shooting death and policy changes over law enforcement raids to the defunding of ICE operations and the impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, in what is fast becoming an inflection point.

Bill and Hillary Clinton are facing contempt of Congress charges if they don’t appear before a House committee next week to testify in the Jeffrey Epstein investigation.
The couple was originally scheduled to testify before the House Oversight Committee in December but those appearances were moved to January 13 for him and the 14th for her at the request of the couple, who cited a conflict.
But now they haven’t confirmed they will be there next week. And Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), the chairman of the panel, said he’ll slap them with contempt if they don’t show.

President Trump on Friday night called on credit card companies to cap interest rates at 10 percent.
“Please be informed that we will no longer let the American Public be ‘ripped off’ by Credit Card Companies that are charging Interest Rates of 20 to 30%, and even more, which festered unimpeded during the Sleepy Joe Biden Administration. AFFORDABILITY!” the president wrote in a post on Truth Social, using a term he has frequently referred to as a “hoax” pushed by Democrats.
Effective January 20, 2026, I, as President of the United States, am calling for a one year cap on Credit Card Interest Rates of 10%. Coincidentally,

Delegate Karen Keys-Gamarra (D) introduced legislation to create a $500 tax on suppressor sales in the state of Virginia.
The bill, HB 207, “Imposes a firearm suppressor tax equal to $500 per retail sale of any firearm suppressor by a dealer in firearms.”
Keys-Gamarra’s bill directs monies from the tax to “be deposited in the general fund.”
A long-standing $200 federal tax on suppressors was wiped out by President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill which took effect January 1, 2026. This means suppressor sales around the nation are now hundred of dollars lower than they were even one month ago. But HB 207 will force Virginians to ante up $500, on top

Philadelphia County Sheriff Rochelle Bilal unleashed a blistering attack on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Thursday, branding the federal agency “fake, made-up law enforcement” and threatening that any ICE agents who set foot in her jurisdiction will face arrest and prosecution.

Minneapolis police officers, including Chief Brian O’Hara, were attacked and chased out of a downtown area by violent anti-ICE rioters on Friday night.
Officers were seen in video footage from the riot abandoning the streets, leaving the area under the control of leftist anarchists who have been protesting federal immigration enforcement operations.
Riots have escalated in the wake of the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good, a radical anti-ICE activist, who nearly mowed down an agent with her vehicle last week.

ROSEVILLE, Minn. — More than one thousand people crammed into a Minnesota church Saturday for “training” in how to deal with ICE in the wake of Renee Nicole Good’s fatal shooting — during which the radical leftist organizer urged participants to annoy the agents like “mosquitoes.”
Program sponsor Monarca trains so-called “upstander legal observers” to follow, track, report, and record Department of Homeland Security officers while they are in the midst of operations, and urged the mostly white, middle-aged and elderly attendees to attend protests with gas masks, sunglasses and phone chargers. “And a pencil,” they said. “In Minnesota, bring a pencil; a pen will freeze.”

A harrowing eyewitness account from a Venezuelan guard who was on the ground when Operation Absolute Resolve hit — the mission to nab illegitimate then-president Nicolás Maduro — describes an unknown sonic weapon used by the U.S. against his security forces. According to the guard, the sonic blast caused them to experience headaches, disorientation, and vomiting of blood as they were completely incapacitated.
But is this report true? Did we unleash some heretofore unknown powerful weapon that literally floored much of the enemy before any shots were even fired?
In a Saturday social media post, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt seemed to imply that the answer was “yes.”

Portland Police Chief Bob Day became emotional Friday as he confirmed new information showing that two people shot by a US Customs and Border Protection agent in Portland who allegedly tried to run over the officials with their car have ties to the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. He then apologized to the Latino community for “victim blaming.” Day confirmed a Department of Homeland Security statement identifying the two individuals[snip] as Venezuelan nationals believed to be in the United States illegally with suspected links to the violent Tren de Aragua gang as well as a prostitution ring.

A Somali refugee has stepped down from Lewiston, Maine’s City Council just days after being sworn into the seat, after reports revealed that his nonprofit received tens of thousands of dollars from the fund set up to assist people affected by the October 2023 mass shooting in the central Maine city that killed 18. It has also been revealed that the refugee has been charged with a felony.
Iman Osman resigned from the Lewiston City Council after it was revealed by NewsNation that his organization, the Lewiston Auburn Youth Network, received $65,000 from the fund established after the shooting. Overall, $1.9 million of the funds raised,

President Trump’s call for Sen. Susan Collins (R) to be ousted in November tossed a monkey wrench into the high-stakes Maine Senate race, raising further questions about the GOP’s most vulnerable incumbent and whether she will be able to pull off another high-wire act in the blue-leaning state this year.
Frustrations at the White House boiled over on Thursday after Collins and four other Republicans sided with Democrats on a war powers resolution that would block further military action in Venezuela. While Republicans were miffed at the attack on the handful of members,

The Brave Browser's AI Assistant confirms that the EU administratively imposed these sanctions on Mr. Baud and provides the following additional information. Mr. Baud was accused of "information manipulation" linked to Russia regarding the Ukraine War. The charge was brought by something called the "European External Action Service" and was part of a larger sanctions package targeting a total of 12 persons. Baud is a Swiss citizen and Switzerland has thus far declined to implement the sanctions. Yet another example of the workings of the censorship regime imposed by the EU's German-dominated bureaucracy.
