The Minnesota Fraternal Order of Police (MNFOP) released a statement Thursday with the heading "FOP Stands With ICE." The statement said, in part: "The Minnesota Fraternal Order of Police stands with the men and women of law enforcement across this country. Over the last month, while Federal law enforcement has been doing their job in Minnesota, political and community leaders have condemned and vilified them. The hateful and anti-law enforcement rhetoric by Mayor Frey and other politicians have made their jobs an those of state and local law enforcement more difficult."

A righteous shooting is a righteous shooting. The FOP knows this.
And it can also be a very sad and unnecessary tragedy at the same time.
If those woman hadn't been so stupidly playing deadly games, none of this would have happened.

FOP is the union, independent of the asshat Mayor's control, so they can say the truth. On the job, MInn Police are ordered to disappear and not do any policing by the idiot Mayor.

Just today Minneapolis Police Department retreated when challenged by Antifas. Regrettably Police in this country are in it for the Golden retirements. I know that here in Los Angeles the homeless and Illegals are sacrosanct to the LAPD.

Walz: "ICE is out of control! They are a bunch of racists who want to harass our voters! Send in the police!".
Aide: "Sorry chief, they said no."

I certainly wish they would have been that bold in the backing of Derek Chauvin. . .

This is a great time to keep the mayor in the spotlight for his rush to judgment after seeing only 1 video. No one can defend his instant and very dangerous accusations of murder, exposing him as an immature, unstable elected official.
Reasonable people should defend the Ice agent by explaining the Rashomon effect---a scenario where multiple eyewitnesses view or experience the exact same event but describe it in contradictory ways. They reach completely different conclusions about it---all of them accurate, but appearing very different because they are seen from different angles. How can anyone know which one is correct or reliable?
If Noem defends her agent using the Rashomon effect she can't lose.

I haven't seen a video yet that shows Minnesota police in action, so where are they? Statements don't always mean actions. The top cop in Minnesota said they would not work with ICE, so who's winning that argument?

The PD works for and under the orders of the mayor. The mayor says 'stand down', and any good police department will stand down. They don't have to like it, but they do have to follow his orders.
Their only recourse is individually, they can quit. Frankly, If I had 18 years in towards a 20 year pension, I'd have a lot of trouble tossing that away for some moron mayor.

I wonder if the police are required to follow an illegal order.
If I were a Minnesota police officer and ordered to arrest ICE personnel, I think I would suddenly come down with a debilitating mystery ailment that would put me out of work for a few days, or until the squabble had blown over.
