One day after announcing he was scrapping his re-election bid, Democratic Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota vocally pushed back against calls by Republican state lawmakers to resign amid the state's sweeping fraud scandal. "I'm not going anywhere. And you can make all your requests for me to resign. Over my dead body will that happen," Walz told reporters as he answered questions for the first time since his stunning re-election announcement. CIA turncoat Aldrich Ames, who betrayed Western intelligence assets to the Soviet Union and Russia in one of the most damaging intelligence breaches in U.S. history, has died in a Maryland prison. He was 84.
A spokesperson for the Bureau of Prisons confirmed Ames died Monday. Ames admitted being paid $2.5 million by Moscow for U.S. secrets from 1985 until his arrest in 1994. He admitted disclosing the identities of 10 Russian officials and one East European who were spying for the United States or Great Britain. His betrayals are blamed for the executions of Western agents working behind the Iron Curtain and were a major setback to the CIA.

You may have seen the news story about an attack on J.D. Vance’s Ohio home. Someone smashed windows with a hammer. There was no danger of physical injury, as Vance and his family were not at home. Still, this is the kind of thing that not long ago would have been unthinkable.
The perpetrator, no master criminal, has been apprehended. William DeFoor is the son of left-wing parents who are Democratic Party donors. Also, he is a “trans” who now wants to be called Julia. (X) The “trans” segment of the population is vanishingly small. Nevertheless, it has been involved in a vastly disproportionate series of violent political acts.

The Senate confirmed journalist Sara Carter in a party-line vote Tuesday as the United States' new "drug czar," who will help with the administration's efforts to curb the fentanyl crisis in the country.
President Donald Trump nominated Carter, an investigative journalist who has covered the fentanyl crisis and border security, for the post last year. She will officially serve as the director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy.
Carter was confirmed in a 52-48 split. Kentucky GOP Sen. Rand Paul voted against the confirmation.

The United States Mint released into circulation on Monday the first of five newly designed quarters to commemorate the nation’s 250th birthday, and this one focuses on America’s Christian heritage.
The Mayflower Compact Quarter features on the front side two Pilgrims, a man and a woman, under a banner that reads “E Pluribus Unum,” which is Latin for “out of the many, one.”
It also includes the national motto, “In God We Trust.” The other side depicts the Mayflower ship, in which the Pilgrims traveled to the New World in 1620, with the words “Mayflower Compact” and “Liberty” beneath it.

Sens. Rand Paul (R-KY) and Mike Lee (R-UT) have balked at the billions of dollars included for refugee funding in one of the nine appropriations bills for fiscal year 2026.

Paul, the chair of the Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee, said, “The big spenders in Congress are back in DC, hoping to pass a bill that spends billions on refugee benefits despite widespread reports of fraud.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio has sought to calm alarms among U.S. lawmakers over recent statements from the Trump administration about Greenland, clarifying that aggressive rhetoric does not mean an imminent military action to seize the Arctic island. Rubio told congressional leaders that Washington’s goal remains negotiating a purchase of Greenland from Denmark, not undertaking an invasion, according to people familiar with the briefing.
The remarks come amid increasingly combative comments from the White House, where senior officials including President Donald Trump have publicly refused to rule out force as an option in securing control of the semi-autonomous territory. White House spokespeople have framed

President Donald Trump says the U.S. needs Greenland for national security, ostensibly to counter Russia and China. But Trump’s interest in the sparsely populated island appears to be as much about hemispheric dominance as homeland defense.
According to two people familiar with private high-level discussions and granted anonymity to share their details, the White House has shown little interest in an overture last year from Denmark’s prime minister offering the U.S. the option to increase its military presence in Greenland, where it already operates a base and has long deployed troops at liberty.

"How the mighty have fallen" is a phrase that could be aptly used in describing former Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, who was only recently mimicking Trump’s signature dance moves and acting as if he were untouchable. Now he sits behind bars in New York City.
So too has the once-proud country of Cuba fallen mightily over the last century. Once a thriving island renowned for its beauty and vibrant people, it has, after 67 years of Communist rule, become a stuck-in-time shell of its former self, with rampant poverty, frequent blackouts, and pervasive political oppression.

President Trump has made clear he wants to revitalize Venezuela’s oil industry so he can use the cash to make the country great again — but the sector is in shambles after decades of plunder, talent flight and negligence as a result of socialist rule.
After capturing Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro over the weekend, Trump vowed that US companies would soon tap into the nation’s rich oil reserves, which Caracas says hold about 303 billion barrels worth of petrol, roughly 17% of the world’s supply.
Production has plummeted since hitting a high in 1997 — and the country produced just 900,000 barrels of oil per day in 2024,

On Monday night, I was scrolling through X when I saw talk about something happening in Caracas, Venezuela's capital city. I follow a lot of Latin American journalists, including many exiled Venezuelans who live in the United States, and they were kind of freaking out over what appeared to be some sort of military action around Miraflores Palace, the Venezuelan version of the White House.
Initially, there was talk of shots fired and explosions. Videos showed armed men in the streets carrying weapons. People were reportedly evacuated from several nearby buildings.

There is some good news within this announcement as Justin Trudeau’s former Deputy Prime Minister to Canada is well known to both President Donald Trump and North American political followers for a decade.Chrystia Freeland was the former lead of the Canadian trade delegation when Trudeau realized he needed to try and offset the economic damage within the renegotiated NAFTA agreement known as the USMCA. Freeland was also the lead attack agent behind the debanking effort against Canadian truckers who opposed the vaccine mandate.
In addition to holding Ukraine roots, the ideology of Chrystia Freeland as a multinational globalist and promoter for the World Economic Forum’s ‘new world order’ is well documented.

Last Friday Dept of Homeland Security (DHS) began surging roughly 2,000 federal agents and officers from Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s deportation branch and Homeland Security Investigations, the agency’s investigative arm tasked with fighting transnational crimes into Minnesota.
The investigative objective appears to be utilizing the massive and systemic fraud throughout Minnesota as an entry gate to expand the investigation into other states. The key takeaway is that Minnesota simply reflects the tip of the iceberg and multiple Democrat run states likely have the same or worse fraud ongoing.

Driving down Snelling Avenue in St. Paul yesterday, I had a flashback from days gone by. Several protesters were flashing “No blood for oil” signs at Snelling and Grand. They took me back to 2003 and Bushitler — how quaint. Perhaps the signs were recycled.
One of the protesters even sported a full face mask. I should have stopped to ask whether the mask was to scare off Covid or to conceal his or her identity, but I passed by.
Today I read that an organization named The People’s Forum is spinning up protests against the extraction of Nicolás Maduro from Venezuela to face American justice.

Following an investigation, Byrd was cleared of any wrongdoing, although questions remain about the escalation to lethal force without attempts to subdue or detain Babbitt.

Trump, in December 2025, directed Health Secretary Robert F. China has never been more trade-dependent in its history. Xi Jinping's only hope for an economy that is probably contracting is to increase exports. He knows — or should know — that he is in no position to disrupt international commerce.

It’s an excruciating economic lesson for the ages.
How can one of the most resource-rich countries on the planet, with trillions of dollars of energy and mineral reserves, beautiful beaches, and beautiful people, become impoverished in just 25 years?
It should have per capita wealth equal to Saudi Arabia and tourism like Bermuda. Yet half of its citizens now live in “extreme poverty.”
The simplest explanation? Venezuelan communist leaders Hugo Chavez and Nicolas Maduro abandoned free markets and “rugged individualism” in favor of the “warm embrace of collectivism.”

After the United States military intervention in Venezuela, the Mexican government and analysts discounted the likelihood of unilateral U.S. military action against Mexican drug cartels, despite threats from President Donald Trump.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum’s administration has been complying with Washington’s demands and the economic ties between the two countries are vital, they say.
Nonetheless, many expect more such threats as a way to extract more concessions from Mexico. No one dares rule out completely an unexpected move by the U.S. president.
Sheinbaum downplayed the possibility of U.S. military action Monday. “I don’t see risks (of that),” she said. “There is coordination, there is collaboration with the United States government.”

The Bolivarian regime seems to be eating itself, now.
Monday night erupted in heavy firefights in Caracas, more specifically in areas of Miraflores, where the presidential palace is located.
This comes a mere hours after the interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, was formally sworn in.
Rumors have been circulating that Maduro’s right-hand man, Diosdado Cabello, was planning a coup d’état against Rodríguez. Apparently, her first decisions were not to the liking of the generals of the highly ideological Bolivarian Armed Forces of Venezuela.
Diosdado controls many of the ‘colectivos of Venezuela’, far-left, heavily armed paramilitary groups operating independently of the Government.

As we reported, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), who had been running for reelection in 2026, decided to throw in the towel in the face of the massive fraud scandal exploding in his state.
Even in quitting, Walz tried to make it not about his failures, including the failure to stop the fraud, but about President Donald Trump. Walz, in a statement he released, said Trump wanted to make Minnesota a "colder, meaner place.” He's now released video comments through his daughter's account. It was something else as he tried to spin his achievements like "feeding our kids" — without talking about the "Feeding Our Future"

Few people are more upset about Nicolás Maduro's arrest than the descendants of the Fidel Castro regime in Cuba. (Well, except for maybe the Democrats in Congress and other white leftists in the United States.) Current Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel has come out swinging against the Donald Trump administration's recent actions both in person and on social media. But while he talks a good game about "imperialism," his demeanor is anything but tough. The man is obviously terrified, and rightfully so.
"The imperialist desire is Venezuelan oil, it is the lands and natural resources of Venezuela," he said during a speech this weekend. He continued:

With this being a crucial midterm election year with a lot on the line, including who controls the House and Senate, Republicans, especially those in what are considered "battleground" states, are going to need to be on their "A" game as Democrats and their mainstream media allies pull out all the stops to thwart President Trump's "America First" agenda. While I can't vouch for other battleground states, in North Carolina at least, Republicans are doing something right if the latest numbers on voter registration in the Old North State are a reliable indicator.

President Trump predicted Monday that in less than 18 months American oil companies will have an increased presence — and could already be “up and running” — in Venezuela.
“I think we can do it in less time than that, but it’ll be a lot of money,” Trump said in an interview with NBC News.
“A tremendous amount of money will have to be spent, and the oil companies will spend it, and then they’ll get reimbursed by us or through revenue,” the president added. Shortly after the successful US military operation Saturday to capture Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro,

Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei reportedly plans to escape to Moscow if his security team falters or turns on him amid ongoing unrest in his country featuring protesters chanting for his death.
Khamenei, 86, will catch a flight with his inner circle, including roughly 20 aides and members of his family, if the Islamic Republic’s army is overwhelmed by the swelling protests – or if the security forces decide to defect, an intelligence source told The Times.
His son and “nominated heir apparent” would also flee, the source said. Khamenei’s general escape plan mirrors that of fallen Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad,

Nicolás Maduro and wife Cilia Flores wore matching straw hats during a rally in Caracas last month.
Now they have matching handcuffs and a floor separating them at the notorious Metropolitan Detention Center jail in Brooklyn.
While Maduro, the now-toppled dictator of Venezuela, has been indicted in the US since 2020 on drug trafficking and narco-terror charges and is widely known to have ignored the results of his country’s 2024 election and seized power, much less is known about his wife. However, the 69-year-old First Lady has been described by a former head of intelligence in Venezuela as being “behind the curtain, pulling the strings.”

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) has announced that its board of directors has formally voted to dissolve the organization, marking the end of its 58-year role as the federally chartered steward of public broadcasting. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting called its dissolution “an act of responsible stewardship to protect the future of public media,” emphasizing that it was the board’s final effort to defend the system it was created to serve. “When the Administration and Congress rescinded federal funding,” said CPB President and CEO Patricia Harrison, “our Board faced a profound responsibility:

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) is reportedly considering a run for Minnesota governor after Gov. Tim Walz (D) announced the end of his reelection campaign, but her track record is a mess of political scandals. Walz, who was the Democrat party’s vice-presidential candidate just over a year ago, dropped out of the race in shame with a Monday morning statement whining over the growing Somali fraud scandal, Breitbart News’s John Nolte detailed Shortly after the news broke, the New York Times reported that Klobuchar is weighing a bid for gubernatorial office—

The dramatic change in Venezuela's leadership is going to have impacts around the world, but probably most significantly in Cuba, which has relied on Venezuela for fuel for decades.
For decades, Venezuela provided the communist-run island with the bulk of its fuel and financing in exchange for Cuban doctors, teachers and security personnel. Without those programs, the island’s already devastating energy woes will worsen and its shortages of food, medicine and basic goods will become even more pronounced.

Tim Walz is, in himself, not a particularly interesting man.
He has always been rather petty and stupid, with the intellectual and political depth of a puddle after a spring drizzle. Like many a petty and stupid man, he likes to puff up his resume, pretend to be more important than he is, and use decibels and large gestures to simulate passion and leadership abilities.
He is, literally, the assistant coach who tells everybody he coached his team to the big game, or the soldier who bails from deployment while claiming to be a war hero.
Yet the career of Tim Walz is, in fact, interesting. Very interesting, actually,
