Democrats have been losing their minds over President Donald Trump's actions in Venezuela to capture and arrest the dictator Nicolás Maduro, who was wanted in the United States and had been under indictment for five years.
We saw Democrats calling it illegal and claiming that Trump needed Congressional approval to effect Maduro's arrest. Their hypocrisy is something else. Do they recall how many civilians Barack Obama in foreign countries reportedly took out with his drone actions, which led to some referring to him as the Droner-in-Chief?
Obama embraced the US drone programme, overseeing more strikes in his first year than Bush carried out during his entire presidency.

Nicolás Maduro will be exchanging the trappings of power in Venezuela for an orange jumpsuit in New York.
President Trump capped an extraordinary pressure campaign against the Venezuelan leader with an audacious, technically proficient snatch-and-grab operation in the predawn hours.
That Trump pulled the trigger after months of what many believed was a gigantic bluff sends a message about the seriousness of his threats that will be duly noted from Havana to Tehran. The leaders of Mexican drug cartels, in particular, have to be anxious about their own futures

It’s been over a year now since her humiliating loss to President Donald Trump, yet for some reason, Kamala Harris still hasn’t figured out that she’s a joke and should fade away into the sunset rather than subject herself to future embarrassment for opening her mouth.
Like many other Democrats who have decided that opposing the capture of a dictator is the hill they want to die on, Kamala took to X on Saturday to condemn Donald Trump's successful military operation that captured Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores.
I guess she’s still on the DNC email list for the latest talking points. "Donald Trump’s actions in Venezuela do not

The Department of Homeland Security pushed back Thursday against claims that Venezuelan migrants are being encouraged to apply for refugee status in the United States, stating instead that hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans can now return home following major policy changes under President Donald Trump.
The clarification came after an online post by Leading Report claimed that Venezuelans could apply to become refugees in the US, citing remarks attributed to DHS Secretary Kristi Noem. DHS publicly rejected that characterization, calling it inaccurate.
“This is not what Secretary Noem said,” DHS wrote in a statement posted to X. “President Trump is bringing stability to Venezuela and bringing to justice an illegitimate narco-terrorist dictator

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is fundraising in protest of the Trump administration’s capture of Venezuela’s illegitimate socialist dictator, Nicolás Maduro, and his wife, Cilia Flores.
“Another day, another unconstitutional war from Trump, who thinks the Constitution is a suggestion,” an email from the DNC reads, per Town Hall. “Congress has war powers — but Republican cowards are hiding under their desks while Trump orders an unauthorized attack against Venezuela. Trump promised peace, but has delivered chaos.”
“The most important thing we can do is elect more Democrats who will check this administration’s power,” the email continues.

A large part of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro’s security team was killed during Saturday’s US operation, the country’s Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino said Sunday, Anadolu reports.
In a televised speech, Padrino accused the US military personnel who carried out operation of “cold-bloodedly murdering a large part of (Maduro’s) security team, soldiers, and innocent citizens.”
He did not give further details about the number of victims.
Padrino also called Maduro the country’s “authentic and legitimate leader.”
His remarks came a day after President Donald Trump said US military action on Saturday resulted in the capture of Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores, pledging to assert American control

It is no secret that the Democrats, and many Republicans!, aggressively blocked President Trump’s desire to protect the American people and build a border wall on the southern border with Mexico during his first term. Democrat attempts to block the wall in spite of significant evidence that it was obviously needed indicated there was an unknown reason for their defiance.

Former President Joe Biden’s long career in politics allowed him to retire with the largest taxpayer-funded pension of any ex-prez in US history — $417,000, or more than his presidential salary, an expert says.
Biden, 83, was in line to rake in the massive amount from two pension funds in his first year as former president, according to an analysis by National Taxpayer Union Foundation Vice President Demian Brady.
“It’s pretty unusual, historically unusual, to have such a large pension amount,” Brady told The Post.
“I would have to say that it’s the largest,” the taxpayer advocate said when asked to compare Biden’s pension to his predecessors.

The Trump critics are out again, criticizing Trump’s use of the military in Venezuela to depose Nicolás Maduro. The critics cite Congress’s power to declare war under Article I, Section 8, Clause 11 of the Constitution as proof that Trump acted “illegally” and “unconstitutionally.” The critics are wrong and are misreading the Constitution.[snip] The president gets to act first, and he can act unilaterally, as Trump did. Or he can ask Congress for a declaration of war or an authorization to use force, as FDR and Bush 43 did. But the final say belongs to the people in the form of how their elected representatives judge the president’s action after the fact.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio made the rounds on the Sunday shows this morning to talk about the recent developments in Venezuela, including the capture and arrest of Nicolás Maduro and what's next for Venezuela and for our involvement in this situation.
I'll be the first to admit that even I, who has never seen a Marco Rubio interview I didn't like, was a little frustrated with some of his answers, but I also recognize that this is kind of a sensitive situation, especially in the moment, and the secretary probably can't share too much just yet. WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump threatened Sunday that Venezuela’s interim leader Delcy Rodriguez will pay a “very big price” if she doesn’t cooperate with the United States, after US forces seized and jailed her former boss Nicolas Maduro.
“If she doesn’t do what’s right, she is going to pay a very big price, probably bigger than Maduro,” Trump told The Atlantic in a brief telephone interview.
US forces attacked Caracas in the early hours of Saturday, bombing military targets and spiriting away Maduro and his wife to face federal narcotrafficking charges in New York.

Kids are arriving on college campuses with fewer skills and diminished attention spans. But, rather than challenge students, many colleges are lowering institutional standards to accommodate them.
Colleges around the country have English courses that require students to read a single book all semester. Ivy League schools are rolling out remedial math classes. And some schools are teaching kids skills as basic as structuring sentences.
Colleges surely have a challenge on their hands as high schools graduate less distinguished classes, but lowering the bar is the sort of coddling that keeps kids from reaching their potential. College is meant to stretch you to your intellectual max. It’s not a time for hand-holding.

You have to marvel at the sequence of events we just experienced. On Jan. 1, a socialist was sworn in as mayor of New York, promising the “warm embrace of collectivism.” On Jan. 3, President Donald Trump announced that he’d forcibly removed Nicolas Maduro from Venezuela, ending the country’s 23-year embrace of socialism.
We will leave it to the pundits, the lawyers, politicians, and various other “experts” to debate the merits of Trump’s action.
But what we can’t let happen is for the left and the mainstream media to ignore or downplay just how tragic Venezuela’s embrace of collectivism has been.

Christmas week was rather a slow week, with the big news being the further unraveling of the corruption in Minnesota, Washington state, California, and other Democrat redoubts. But like George Washington crossing the Delaware to beat the Hessians as they rested on Christmas, the U.S. pulled off an incredible military operation capturing Venezuela’s Nicolas Maduro in his pajamas and bringing him back here to answer to criminal charges. The Venezuelan military was largely on Christmas leave and Maduro’s international protectors --- the Chinese and Russian forces in Venezuela -- were caught flatfooted, diminishing their credibility in the Western Hemisphere. The impact of this operation was enormous.

President Trump issued a thinly-veiled warning to Mexico’s president Saturday while announcing the capture of Venezuelan strongman Nicolás Maduro Saturday.
Trump, who also had strong words for the leaders of Colombia and Cuba, said the attack on Venezuela wasn’t meant to be a warning for Mexico, but said “something’s going to have to be done” about the cartel-run country.
Trump has clashed with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo over trade tariffs, and blamed the US neighbor for allowing illegal immigration and narcotics to flow across the southern border.

To understand the extraordinary operation conducted by the U.S. military and law enforcement over the night of January 2-3—an operation that extracted the Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, from the presidential palace and whisked them to the USS Iwo Jima bobbing off the coast of Caracas for extradition to the United States—the first thing you should read is the National Security Strategy released by the White House last month.
Among other things, this closely reasoned, 29-page document articulates an updated commitment to the Monroe Doctrine, named for the country’s fourth president, James Monroe, who first articulated the policy in 1823. In brief,

President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have fired a warning shot over the political future of Cuba.
During Saturday’s press conference following the successful capture and extraction of Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro, Trump and his team were asked about what this means for Cuba.
The regimes in both Caracas and Havana are well known to have extremely close ties, with Cuban agents controlling much of Venezuela’s national security network.
Trump explained:
Cuba is an interesting case. Cuba is, you know, not doing very well right now. That system has not been a very good one for Cuba.

At one time in my life, I was an operating-room nurse, both participating in and witnessing the things that just about every person on earth can’t stand to think about.
So, I can say with some authority that splinters in particularly sensitive areas of the body––often the kind that happen when sitting on a fence––can cause significant discomfort. And removing them requires a recovery period that involves quite a bit of post-op pain.
Metaphorically speaking, VP JD Vance has been sitting for quite a while on a splintery fence, trying to camouflage his dislike of Jews and Israel with fancified language, while at the same time,
