Just as a “country without borders is not a country,” so it is that “the conservative movement also requires borders.” This was the general message delivered by conservative political commentator Ben Shapiro in a December 17 speech at the Heritage Foundation and again the next day in a speech at Turning Point USA’s Amerifest conference.
Shapiro’s other main point was more specific: Conservative political commentator Tucker Carlson is no conservative and must forthwith be expelled from the conservative movement. Shapiro’s message struck hard. Heritage President Kevin Roberts is backpedaling furiously after he defended Carlson’s decision to interview Nick Fuentes back in October,

The more I hear about Shapiro, the more tired of him I get.

In general, I am tired of listening to people including the paid news analysts spout their opinions on everything with little to no real experience. Carlson is a son of privilege, has Candace or Tucker or Shapiro ever held a real job where you had to clock in and out, etc? So they’re smooth and at times glib commentators who don’t have to worry about high APR on their credit cards, etc. Pointing out the influence that people like Soros have had on this country is not being anti- Semitic. I like and respect Netanyahu and despise Soros and his family.

Shapiro is a nasty little twerp. I recall when he involved himself in this kerfuffle:
Shapiro resigned from his position as editor-at-large of Breitbart News in March 2016 following what he characterized as the website's lack of support for reporter Michelle Fields in response to her alleged assault by Corey Lewandowski, Donald Trump's former campaign manager,[20] in spite of video and eyewitness evidence of the assault.[21] In his resignation statement, Shapiro stated, "Steve Bannon is a bully, and has sold out Andrew Breitbart's mission in order to back another bully, Donald Trump; he has shaped the company into Trump's personal Pravda".[22]

Shapiro leans to Alinsky's rule about picking a target, isollatig them, destroying them rather than to Reagan's Big Tent vision of Republicans and conservatives. Chaelie Kie listened to and takjed to eberyone, Shapiro is a tight ;little antithesis of Kirk.

Shapiro is right. Carlson is now patently antisemitic. Even VDH understands that. A big tent does not mean a wide open tent. The notion of this article that Shapiro should just get into the weeds and gently fight antisemitism by intellectually discussing nuanced facts is like bringing a plastic knife to a gunfight. I support a fierce Shapiro attack.

It is unfortunate that too many conservative thinkers, pundits, activists, don't seem to recognize that if the Democrats take over the House this year, the MAGA agenda comes to a halt. Anyone with a following should be working to get Republicans elected rather than obsessing over unorthodox viewpoints. The voters don't much care about philosophical differences. I would hate to see the progress that has occurred due to President Trump's second arrival to the White House thrown into the trash over squabbles and nit picking. The Democrats are delighted when conservatives indulge in the circular firing squad.
I am a paid subscriber to Ben Shapiro's Daily Wire and the commentary I receive there is worth every penny. Of the commentators on that site Shapiro is not my favorite but I enjoy his sense of humor and admire his grasp of the issues of the day. He needn't waste time worrying about the losers and fools that are attaching themselves to the right and instead should be focused on making sure Trump is not stopped by a bad midterm election.

Conservatives think for themselves. Shapiro, Carlson, Owens, the National Review, or anybody else have no influence on how conservative think. Have a nice day!

It's the Republican's 'Big Tent' that is destroying Conservatism. Didn't help us at all but certainly diluted Conservative values.

Carlson’s decision to interview Nick Fuentes disqualifies him as having any legitimacy as a public commentator or having any conservative credentials.
Carlson is a lunatic to whom I will not pay any attention.
Ben Shapiro makes legitimate points and makes persuasive arguments.
Labels like conservative and liberal are meaningless but convenient. It's a waste of time to keep putting people in ideologic pigeonholes. Judge them by their actions

When Shapiro published "I Will Never Vote for Donald Trump" in March, 2016, he ceased to have any credibility with me. It's worth clicking on the link below even if it ends up putting a few advertising cents in Shapiro's pocket. At the time, I said It would be difficult to pack more errors into less space. I was talking about the article, but I have since learned that it often applies to Ben Shapiro as well.
Nonetheless, when Shapiro finally decided to reverse himself ("never" is apparently subject to re-interpretation) and vote for President Trump 2020, I held my tongue and welcomed his voice and vote because Trump needed all the help he could get.
However, Shapiro continues to exemplify opportunistic self-aggrandizement. He is everything #1, #3, #4, and #5 say he is and less: He is an off-putting opportunist who makes his living off of the conservative movement while actively dividing those within it.

The only reason to pay any attention to The Daily Wire is Andrew Klavan. I enjoy his podcasts so much. He has great insights and humor and truly loves President Trump and VP Vance.

This circular firing squad is such a waste of time and effort. Rigid litmus tests do not build successful political movements. Trump is doing what we elected him to do. Maybe it's not fast enough for you but may I say. he took a bullet for us. Be patient. Whatever Ben or Tucker do or don't do is irrelevant to our task at hand.
