Minnesota’s welfare fraud scandals dominate the national news, and calls are rising for Governor Tim Walz to resign. The Minnesota Star Tribune, a longtime DFL mouthpiece that is now run by a former Walz cabinet member, is doing its best to fend off criticism of the Walz regime. Toward that end, its “reporters” are desperately looking for a way to discredit the Nick Shirley video of Somali day care centers that has been seen by more than 100 million people. Deena Winter, a Star Tribune reporter, evidently was assigned that task. In the Shirley video, he has a colleague who is identified only as “David.” Winter apparently thought

Everyone is rightfully outraged at the Somali fraud in Minnesota and the inaction of Governor Walz but the focus on one aspect of the fraud seems to be missing. It's impossible for fraud of this to occur under the noses of the political establishment in that state. I suspect that a large number of democrats, if not all, have been getting kickbacks and promises to deliver voting blocks in exchange for turning a blind eye to the malfeasance. We already know that Ilhan Omar has become a multi millionaire seemingly overnight without ever giving a reasonable answer as to how that happened. The democrats need to be investigated.

It's all part of a vote-buying scheme using Somalis to aid Democrats. Without the Somali vote, Trump won Minnesota in 2016 (He only lost by 44,000 votes). Al Franken was supposedly elected Senator in 2008 by 300 votes. Omar herself would have never been elected to dog catcher.

Why Was 2023 So Warm? 6 replies

Satellite records indicate that there was a sharp uptick in global temperatures in 2023, followed by a steep decline by 2025: [chart] Warmists were ecstatic over the 2023 increase, which they attributed to “climate change.” (It makes no sense to say that a change was caused by change, but put that aside for the moment.) As to the subsequent decline, they were almost entirely silent. It seemed obvious to me that the most likely explanation was the extraordinary eruption of the Hunga Tonga underwater volcano in January 2022. That eruption, unprecedented in recorded history, sent vast quantities of water vapor into the atmosphere. Water vapor is, of course, the principal greenhouse

You knew this would happen. An independent journalist scoops the legacy media, and they go after him. It’s happened before, and it will happen again. Nick Shirley has made CNNCBSABCNBCNYT and all of the other leftist media look bad, and now they will try to make sure he pays. Our own Eric Florack captured the essence of what Shirley accomplished just a few days ago: This is most likely the single biggest story ever covered by an independent journalist. In one video alone, Nick Shirley has exposed over $100 million in fraud. I suspect he's merely scratched the surface on the story. Keep in mind, this is right in the backyard

The New York Times is not your most reliable narrator on all stories about NPR: their weekday podcast The Daily runs on hundreds of NPR affiliates, which creates an obvious rooting interest for the network. On Tuesday, Times media reporter Benjamin Mullin poured on the sympathy for almost 2,500 words, starting with the headline: NPR’s C.E.O. Was a Right-Wing Target. Then the Real Trouble Started. Katherine Maher has taken an unyielding approach to NPR’s biggest battles — which has sometimes put her at odds with her colleagues in public media. As usual, Mullin and the Times line up the "right-wingers" and avoid the "L word." Start with paragraph 2: Right-wing activists

On the first day of Hanukkah, 2025, the world witnessed another needless, avoidable tragedy — this time an Islamic mass shooting, which erupted on the coast of Bondi Beach, Australia. Twenty-two lives were gunned down mercilessly by a father-son duo of destruction, radical militants who had immigrated to the Land Down Under not looking for a better life, but committed to taking others in the furtherance of jihad. Both tragic and outrageous, Western leaders have been welcoming a massive invasion of violent third-world peasants with no interest in integrating into their host countries. As expected, pundits and commentators pointed out at great length

For years, we have been writing about the fact that China’s dominance of critical mineral mining and, especially, processing is a threat to our national security. It is also a scandal: we have plenty of minerals in the U.S., but we don’t mine them–or, at least, we don’t develop new mines to take advantage of our resources. Because environmentalists–the Democratic Party–won’t allow it. Thus, we have abdicated control over our economy and our children’s future to the Chinese Communist Party. This chart, from a 2022 Power Line post, tells the story: To learn much more, check out Mission Impossible, by Debra Struhsacker and Sarah Montalbano. Happily, there are some Democrats,

Disney put together a stellar 2025 thanks in large part to two movies that hauled in over $1 billion each globally. Considering Disney’s immense success with theatrical releases throughout the year, their decision to pull the plug on one of the most recent movies was more than a bit surprising. The move came after Trump and Ric Grenell, Trump's handpicked interim president of the storied performing arts center, have spent much of 2025 working to modernize and upgrade the facility and its offerings.

If there's one thing the fraud scandals in Minnesota have affirmed for us beyond how deep the fraud and corruption go in the Democrat-run state, it's how utterly rotten to the core the corporate media industrial complex truly is. Oh, they'll be quick to tell you how much "reporting" they've done on some of the scandals, some of which date back several years. But what they'll leave out is that in most cases it was either bare minimum reporting, stories that came in response to investigative digging done by others, or reporting designed to discredit the accusers and cast doubt on the allegations against the Somali community and their Democrat

In terms of the laws of physics and economics, hybrid vehicles make much more sense than pure battery-powered cars. And unlike EVs, they have found a viable market niche. But data from the U.K. suggest that hybrids are unusually dangerous. From the London Times: “Fatal crash risk ‘three times higher’ in hybrid cars than petrol.” Motorists in hybrid cars are substantially more likely to die in road collisions than those in conventional petrol vehicles, according to statistics from the Department for Transport. *** Overall, the data shows that there was one death for every 8,000 hybrid cars on the roads last year compared with one death for every 20,000 diesel vehicles,
