Another day, another exposé of illegal alien crime. It turns out the three men who committed $14 million gift card fraud in Texas were illegal aliens.
Kristians Petrovskis, Romunds Cubrevics, and Nurmunds Ulevicus from Latvia are accused of the fraud, per a news release last week from the Texas Financial Crimes Intelligence Center (TFCIC). But KCWX2 shed more light on the crime by stating that all three men entered America illegally and for the express purpose of committing criminal activities. Petrovskis, Cubrevics, and Ulevicus are accused of gift card cloning, according to TFCIC, and at the time of their arrest had over 400 gift cards in their possession.

With the impending rescheduling of marijuana in the U.S., the transportation industry is searching for answers on whether it still will legally be able to test employees before sending them on the road or in the air.
Truck and school bus drivers, train engineers and pilots are all considered “safety-sensitive” transportation employees, and therefore subject to drug testing under U.S. Department of Transportation regulations.
But the DOT, which follows the U.S. Health and Human Services drug testing panel, only permits commercial transportation employers to test for Schedule I and II drugs under the Controlled Substances Act. Marijuana is currently classified as a Schedule I drug but

An uptick in international organized crime groups smuggling stolen vehicles from the Motor City to countries in the Middle East is alarming law enforcement officials looking to crack down on the thefts, as experts say criminals are leveraging juveniles to do their dirty work.
In September, eight men were indicted in federal court for allegedly operating a car theft and international smuggling operation in Detroit, Michigan, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan said in a news release.
According to the 12-count indictment, the eight suspects conspired among themselves and others to coordinate the deliveries of stolen vehicles

India’s government is escalating its protests against the State Department’s new curbs on rampant visa fraud by migrant workers at U.S. embassies.
“While we do understand … that visa-related issues pertain to the Sovereign Domain of any country, we have flagged those issues and our concerns of our nationals to the U.S. side, both in New Delhi and in Washington D.C.” an Indian government spokesman said on December 26.
“There are several people who have been stranded in India for an extended period of time … These [delays] have also caused hardship to their families … and also to the education of their children,” he said.
The “several” Indian workers are stuck

A high school freshman has set his eyes on running for governor of Vermont. The 14-year-old Dean Roy can't vote, drive, or drink yet legally, but wants to be the head of the state. He is also the youngest person to ever start a political party, which he will be running under.
Roy told the Daily Mail that in his run for governor, he "hope[s] that this mission ... leads to more youth getting involved." If he is elected, he would be the first US governor under 18. Previously, 13-year-old Ethan Sonneborn also ran for governor of the state of Vermont but did so unsuccessfully.

As Hillary Clinton closed in on the presidential nomination in the spring of 2016, FBI field officers advised colleagues at headquarters to press her on the foreign donations flowing to the Clinton Foundation while she steered American foreign policy and whether she had used the charity as a campaign piggy bank.
But the FBI HQ in Washington — a city in which the former secretary of state and first lady wields enormous influence — let the trail go cold.
FBI New York Assistant Director in Charge Diego Rodriguez advised agents in Washington to ask Clinton several questions about the foundation, which are reproduced in full in documents released

Arizona state Senator Janae Shamp is advancing legislation that would require Arizona to commission a formal study of “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” arguing that the phenomenon constitutes a legitimate mental health condition. Senate Bill 1070, if passed, would direct the Arizona Department of Health Services to conduct or support research to “advance the understanding of Trump Derangement Syndrome, including its origins, manifestations and long-term effects on individuals, communities and public discourse.” The text of the bill reads, the Arizona state "legislature finds that: The United States thrives on liberty, opportunity and civil discourse, yet extreme political polarization has fractured national unity, threatening the democratic values cherished by Arizonans."

The CEO of the Obama Foundation offered an inside look at the former president's controversial presidential library, addressing lingering concerns over its design.
The monumental project in Chicago is all compiled on a 20-acre campus filled with parks, playgrounds, and the 225-foot 'eye-sore' museum tower.
The CEO of the Obama Foundation, Valerie Jarrett, told CBS News Chicago that they are excited to open their doors next June.
Despite her enthusiasm, locals have raised concerns about its appearance.
However, the CEO explained how this investment and project will demonstrate how diversity can 'better represent the community in which we're located and be a national model for how you can be inclusive and have a world-class

The California DMV is facing a lawsuit brought on behalf of nearly 20,000 immigrant truckers over the state’s plans to revoke their commercial drivers’ licenses (CDLs).
The Asian Law Caucus and the Sikh Coalition, along with the law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, filed the lawsuit on Tuesday in an effort to stop the California DMV from canceling the CDLs, which the complaint says would “result in mass work stoppages” starting Jan 5, 2026.
“This class-action lawsuit is brought on behalf of the Jakara Movement and five commercial drivers who have been deprived of their rights and livelihoods,” a joint statement from the Asian Law Caucus and Sikh Coalition said.

WASHINGTON — For Christmas, former President Joe Biden gave everyone scrolling through X something to talk about by sharing a strange family photo — with himself hardly visible.
Biden, 83, shared the image of himself and seven members of his family around 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve, writing: “Wishing you a peaceful and joyful Christmas Eve filled with love.”
Surprisingly, the gaffe-prone 46th president wasn’t front and center, as is common for family patriarchs. Instead, former first son Hunter Biden, who once used the Secret Service code name “Chieftain,” and his adult daughter Maisy occupy the prime location.
The ex-president’s own face is partially visible in a corner behind
