Congressman Reveals Secret Weapon In Defense
Bill: Bureaucracy Bunker Buster

Original Article

Rep. Glenn Grothman says the National Defense Authorization Act passed Wednesday by the House contains a little-noticed weapon to cut federal spending and bureaucracy. The Wisconsin Republican told Just The News the bill now heading to the Senate cuts up to 19% of civilian jobs inside the War Department saving an estimated $30 billion. "It appears as though the Department of Defense is going to step up, and like other departments, begin to lay off some employees who are really not necessary in today's highly technical world," Grothman said.

Comments:

We'll probably have to wait until the bill is safely enacted for details on how the bill accomplishes this.

If so, be quiet about it. We have to let the Democraps pass it, so that they can find out what’s in it.

Ditto, #1&2. How exasperating! Definitely not helpful to broadcast this information before the bill has passed. I wonder sometimes if this type of thing is done purposely to thwart, or to gain personal attention, or purely out of ignorance. Sigh.

A group of Democrat attorneys general representing 19 states filed a lawsuit on Friday against the Trump administration in an effort to block a new $100,000 H-1B petition fee. Led by the attorneys general for California and Massachusetts, the plaintiffs contend the petition fee is unconstitutional, alleging it far exceeds costs or an H1-B visa application and violates the Administrative Procedure Act.

Far too often, when bad public policy fails to deliver, the first reflex in Washington is to throw more money at the problem. This reflex has been destroying American health care for years. This pattern is seen clearly in the Affordable Care Act (ACA), as millions of Americans learn their premiums will skyrocket in 2026. Washington has long thrown good money after bad -- and the result has been ever-increasing costs for patients and taxpayers. This pattern can also be seen in Medicare Part D. The stand-alone Part D market is now in active collapse.

An immigration think tank is calling for Congress to consider mandating the use of a citizenship verification for voter registration after the Department of Homeland Security announced plans to make the Systemic Alien Verification for Entitlements more user-friendly for state and local election offices. Last week, the DHS settled a case with four states -- Florida, Indiana, Iowa, and Ohio -- to overhaul the citizenship verification system. (Snip) The new settlement requires the federal government to modernize the citizenship verification tools so that every state and territory -- not just the four litigants -- can more easily prevent noncitizens from voting.

Anyone who has been anticipating an announcement from the U.S. military about potential permanent fallout for former servicemembers or intelligence agency staffers over the release of that "illegal orders" video by six now-national Democrat lawmakers could be one step closer to hearing some news. Macy’s Herald Square is where I took my kids to sit on Santa’s lap when they were little. So did scores of other moms, often with infants in tow. The toy department decorations are a Winter Wonderland for little kids. That’s why countless families, New Yorkers and tourists alike, have sparkly memories and the pictures to go with them from the “Miracle on 34th Street” store. Anyone who has stood on line for Santa with kids in strollers or a baby in a carrier felt extra horrified to hear that a mom changing her infant daughter’s diaper was stabbed multiple times by a mentally ill homeless person in the rest room at Macy’s.

The Indiana senate rejected Thursday the Trump-backed congressional gerrymander designed to allow Republicans to capture two more House seats in what is expected to be a difficult 2026 midterm cycle. In a 19 – 31 vote, Indiana’s upper chamber shot down the House-passed gerrymander, a major defeat for President Trump given the extraordinary months-long pressure campaign he waged in favor of the new map. Hoosier state senate Republicans were deeply divided on the redistricting effort, despite national pressure to get it done.
