Sorry, L.A. Fire Victims, the NGO Borg

We thought it was a betrayal of Los Angeles fire victims that the local government slow-rolled the building permit process to wait out property owners so the state could replace their homes with "low-income" apartments. It turns out, however, that the betrayal has just gotten worse. We learn this week, thanks to the great work of a lone reporter at a small Southern California publication called Circling the News, that a whopping $100 million donated to help fire victims isn't making its way to actual fire victims.

The Red Cross set the gold standard for this type of behavior. "Donate your blood and money to us and we will sell you coffee and donuts during a disaster." When you dangle money in front of leftists they just can't help themselves.

$100mm divided among 9,800 destroyed structures is $125,000 per structure. Not close to enough to cover the victims' losses, but way better than the stick up their butts that the Annenberg Foundation has given them.

Tis but small potatoes. USAID has been spreading around billions to NGOs for years, some of whom circle back with political contributions to Dem congressional candidates, according to DOGE. Graft fuels our political systems. I’m sure Newslittle and his cronies are getting their cuts from this as well.

I think I’m going to start an NGO in California to help needy babies. I’ll be the CEO and pay myself say $500,000 salary with extensive travel and benefits. I’ll connect with fundraisers and make sure they get substantial kickbacks, then sit back and hope for many tragedies . What a way to make a living.

This should be on the front page of the Los Angeles Times and the vaunted Annenberg Foundation which was responsible for this misdirection of donated funds, should be in the headline: Annenberg Foundation Misappropriates Millions in Funds Donated for Wildfire Victims. There.

This sort of behavior has been going on within the California homelessness-industrial complex for years. Wanna make some (rather, a lot of) easy money? Establish an NGO and then wait for the doleouts from both the state and City of LA, take your cut, and then distribute what's left to other non-profits. So far, California has spent $24 billion (with a 'b') on the homeless - and none of it can be accounted for.

One of my uncles was a bombardier on a B-17 during WW2 and was lost at sea. Before he died he told my aunt to never support the Red Cross because they sold the airmen donuts and coffee. He told her to support the USO instead because they gave the stuff to them for free. I have never supported the Red Cross because of that.

What tens of millions have suspected, and for good reason, is that Barack Obama was deeply involved in the Russia collusion hoax that was intended to derail Donald Trump’s first presidency, a plot that Trump bluntly called “treason.” Obama of course refuted the claim through a flack. OK, then, let’s have him voice his denial under oath. If he did nothing wrong, he should be eager set the record straight. We’re advocating neither a fishing expedition nor a witch hunt because we find Obama to be an odious fellow.

Obama’s office took the unusual step of issuing an emphatic refutation after Trump told reporters that his predecessor had “[tried] to lead a coup” against him and was guilty of “treason” over intelligence assessments suggesting that Russia had intervened to help Trump defeat Hillary Clinton in the campaign. “Out of respect for the office of the presidency,

Reality finally came knocking. "In light of escalating legal and regulatory risks to Children’s National, our providers, and the families we serve, we will be discontinuing the prescription of gender-affirming [sic] medications," the web page for the hospital's "Gender Development Program" reads. Much has been written about America’s largest city edging closer to electing a socialist mayor. Zohran Mamdani recently won the Democratic primary, which is likely enough to secure the mayoralty of New York City. He still has to get through a general election that includes incumbent Eric Adams, now running as an independent. But Mamdani is in a strong position. How did Mamdani rise to the top of the ticket over Andrew Cuomo, a well-known but scandal-plagued former governor? He ran a calculated campaign focused on New York City’s affordability crisis. He’s promised free bus rides, city-run grocery stores, a $30 minimum wage, and rent freezes —

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released further evidence Wednesday morning, which she claims shows the Obama administration's direct involvement in the 2016 post-presidential election Russia hoax. Gabbard, describing the plot as the "most egregious weaponization and politicization of intelligence in American history," posted a series of lies which have, in her view, been debunked by declassifying a 2020 House Intelligence Committee report. The report was an assessment of how the Obama administration manufactured a January 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment, which portrayed Russia as having influenced the 2016 election in favor of Donald Trump. That assessment was "false," Gabbard writes,
