Dem Rep. Green: Texas Spends So Much on
Border, Must Take Care of Those Already Here

Original Article

On Friday’s broadcast of CNN International’s “What We Know,” Rep. Al Green (D-TX) argued that money in the reconciliation bill to reimburse Texas for border security should be reallocated and said that “Texas spends more money on trying to prevent people from getting into the country than it does on taking care of the people who are already in the country. We have to do something to help people in this country.” Green said, “Texas has billions of dollars in a rainy day fund, but did not work to mitigate this disaster. That’s why Texas has billions of dollars in the rainy day fund

Comments:

By keeping the border secure, Texas officials ARE helping the people of Texas!!

Yo, Al...if an illegal alien takes a job one of your constituents could have had, then deporting that alien will benefit your constituent by allowing your constituent to get or keep that job. Perhaps you should think before you speak.

Re: #7 - The 2/3rds answer is about 1 percent of what it is with California, Florida, and other populous states - huge and growing urban areas, to which large numbers of blue state transplants have flocked since the '80s and federal court-approved, if not mandated gerrymandering to create serpentine Congressional districts that facilitate, if not guarantee the election of rabidly leftist activists. As for the other 1/3rd, in 2002, conservative Republican Senator Phill Graham, a former DINO, decided to retire. Cornyn, former Tx Sec of State and former Tx Supreme Court Justice, won the 2002 Republican primary for the U S Senate with 77% of the vote. None of the other four GOP candidates could crack 8% of the vote. Cornyn, who benefited from name recognition, then defeated former Dallas mayor, Ron Kirk, the democrat nominee, with a little over 55% of the vote. As an incumbent, he has not faced a serious challenge since. That looks to change in the '26 midterm. I don't think any conservative in any state would trade Cornyn for Padilla or Schiff. Texas has not elected a democrat in a statewide election since 1994, and elected its last democrat U S Senator, Lloyd Bentsen in 1988, as the state's more rural and small-town population outside of the large urban areas is large and conservative.

Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that people were dying because of “fear and terror” caused by the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement tactics. Have you been able to talk to the family?” Padilla said, “I haven’t spoken with the family directly, but I have been in touch with, you know, president of the United Farm Workers Union. Police in San Antonio arrested a Texas man Thursday night after he allegedly threatened to assassinate President Donald Trump. The alleged threat was made in a Facebook post, where the man reportedly wrote, “I won’t miss.” San Antonio police officers arrested 52-year-old Robert Herrera for threatening to assassinate President Trump via a Facebook post. The threat happened three days before the first anniversary of the attack that nearly took the then-presidential candidate’s life. “I won’t miss,” Herrera wrote on Facebook in response to an article posted by a San Antonio news outlet’s coverage of the president’s planned trip to the Texas Hill Country,

Here's what Homan actually said: “Look, people need to understand, ICE officers and Border Patrol don’t need probable cause to walk up to somebody, briefly detain them, and question them. They just need totality of the circumstances, right? They just go through the observation,

It happened one year ago today: Around 6:15 PM, Donald Trump was nearly assassinated at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania—a near-fatal headshot missed by mere millimeters. Trump surviving this assassination attempt is nothing short of miraculous, not only because the shooter was so close, but also because his security detail was questionable. One round did clip his ear. The shots came from a rifle fired by Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was perched on an unsecured rooftop less than 400 yards from the main stage. It was a glaring and inexcusable security breach for the United States Secret Service, which recently suspended six agents for their conduct on that day.

For months, the signs have been impossible to ignore: the Democratic Party is in freefall. Poll after poll shows voters turning away in droves—disillusioned by the party’s radical agenda, frustrated by its lack of leadership, and convinced it no longer represents their values. The 2024 elections were a political earthquake, and in the aftermath, Democrats have been left picking through the rubble of a once-dominant coalition. Judge Maame Ewusi-Mensah Frimpong, of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, issued two restraining orders late on Friday. Frimpong was nominated by President Joe Biden and is the daughter of two immigrants from Ghana.
