President Trump confirmed early Wednesday that the US reached a “deal” with China following intense, marathon trade negotiations in London. “Our deal with China is done, subject to final approval with President Xi and me,” Trump announced on Truth Social Wednesday in full capitalization. “Full magnets, and any necessary rare earths, will be supplied, up front, by China.” “Likewise, we will provide to China what was agreed to, including Chinese students using our colleges and universities (which has always been good with me!). We are getting a total of 55% tariffs, China is getting 10%. The relationship is excellent! Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

President Trump is executing his plans. We are truly blessed. I regret we are not sending the Chinese students/spies back but politics is the art of the possible.

President Donald Trump signed a congressional resolution Thursday that blocks California’s ban on new sales of gas-powered cars by 2035. The state is expected to challenge the resolution in court as tension between Governor Gavin Newsom and the president continue to rise over the management of L.A. anti-ICE riots. “We officially rescue the U.S. auto industry from destruction by terminating California’s electric vehicle mandate once and for all,” Trump said in his wide-ranging remarks before signing the resolution in the Oval Office. A Boeing Dreamliner plane bound for London with 242 people aboard crashed Thursday moments after takeoff from Ahmedabad in western India. Video posted on social media appeared to show the jetliner descending followed by a fireball and a dark plume of smoke. It appeared to be the first fatal crash of a Boeing Dreamliner. “It appears there are no survivors in the plane crash,” G.S. Malik, the police commissioner for Ahmedabad, told The Associated Press, adding that “some locals would have also died” when the plane crashed into a residential area where offices were also located. “Exact figures on casualties are being ascertained,” he said.

The United States is drawing down the presence of people who are not deemed essential to operations in the Middle East due to the potential for regional unrest, the US State Department and military said Wednesday as tensions with neighboring Iran rose amid deteriorating nuclear talks. “President Trump is committed to keeping Americans safe, both at home and abroad. In keeping with that commitment, we are constantly assessing the appropriate personnel posture at all our embassies. Based on our latest analysis, we decided to reduce the footprint of our Mission in Iraq,” a State Department official told The Times of Israel. Trump later confirmed

The short-lived feud between President Trump and Elon Musk seems to be winding down, as Musk expressed regret in an early morning social media post for some of his comments criticizing his former political ally. “I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week,” Musk wrote on X. “They went too far.” While Musk did not say which posts he felt contrite about, one was likely his accusation that Trump’s name appeared in the files of billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Musk deleted that post less than two days after making it. He also deleted a separate post that called for Trump’s impeachment.

President Trump’s tariffs will remain in effect for now after a federal appeals court ruled Tuesday to pause a lower court decision that had blocked them. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit granted the stay and scheduled an expedited review of the case, which centers on whether Trump exceeded his authority under federal law. The case involves challenges from five small businesses and a coalition of states who argue that President Trump’s use of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) to impose tariffs was unlawful.

The mayor of Los Angeles is imposing a nighttime curfew to curtail the continuing anti-ICE riots and combat looting and vandalism amid the chaos. L.A. Mayor Karen Bass (D.) announced a curfew beginning at 8 p.m. Pacific time in downtown Los Angeles and lifting at 6 a.m. She warned violators that law-enforcement officers would arrest them. “I issued a curfew starting tonight at 8pm for Downtown Los Angeles to stop bad actors who are taking advantage of the President’s chaotic escalation,” Bass said. “If you do not live or work in Downtown L.A., avoid the area. Law enforcement will arrest individuals who break the curfew, and you will be prosecuted.”

Gavin Newsom and leading Democrats have spent the last few days fulminating about "authoritarianism" by Donald Trump for sending National Guard and Marine units to protect federal law enforcement agents and sites. What will they have to say when they discover that the Departments of Homeland Security and Justice spied on an industrialist supporter of the opposition party? Oh, wait, Trump didn't do that. Joe Biden did that. For two years, according to the Wall Street Journal, Merrick Garland and Alejandro Mayorkas surveilled Elon Musk and his contacts to check out "influence."

The Trump administration is vowing to find out who's bankrolling the L.A. riots because normal American people out there don't like it when they're tax dollars are misused to underwrite arson and looting. Taxpayers didn't sign on to underwrite the left's anti-American public spasms of insanity. Underwriting these bad actors with government grants is tantamount to forcing taxpayers to underwrite the protests by the loons of the Westboro Baptist Church. It's insulting and ridiculous. And now the feds are looking for answers. The Trump FBI, Homeland Security, and DOJ are taking a page from DOGE: they're following the money trail

While it looked like law enforcement came out in force on Monday night to help deal with the rioting in Los Angeles, Fox News reported something interesting happening earlier that evening. Fox's Bill Melugin reported how "hundreds" showed up out of nowhere, some with foreign flags. Then they reported that people were being given earplugs, gas masks, and water bottles, not to drink but to toss at the cops. Melugin also said people were communicating by radio to let others know where the police movements were. But this was perhaps the most intriguing moment, from the local Fox affiliate: the video of the truck pulling up, just giving

Graz Mayor Elke Kahr was quoted by Austrian news agency APA as saying the attacker was also dead, and that many of the injured had been taken to the hospital following the shooting, which she called a "terrible tragedy". Police gave no initial toll but said "several" people were dead and they were working in the assumption there was only one attacker. APA video showed emergency workers loading a stretcher into an ambulance.

Let’s talk about a day that California Governor Gavin Newsom would probably like to erase from memory. Riots are tearing through the city over federal immigration enforcement, yet Newsom can’t even bring himself to condemn the violence. Instead, he’s pointing fingers at President Trump while dodging

US Navy Secretary John Phelan has told the Senate the service needs the right to repair its own gear, and will rethink how it writes contracts to keep control of intellectual property and ensure sailors can fix hardware, especially in a fight. Phelan cited the case of the USS Gerald R. Ford, America's largest and most expensive nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, which carried a price tag of $13 billion. The ship was struggling to feed its crew of over 4,500 because six of its eight ovens were out of action, and sailors were barred by contract from fixing them themselves.

There’s an old joke line that says, “Don’t confuse me with facts.” It’s also a leftist line of argument. I used to try to argue with a leftist about politics, but whenever I’d bring in facts to counter his theories, he’d storm out, furious that I was polluting the discussion with how the world actually works. Greta Thunberg is a leftist down to the marrow of her bones, so she, too, refuses to have her ideological purity tainted by the facts. That’s why, when Israel attempted to show her and her fellow “selfie” yacht comrades footage of the October 7 atrocities,

There’s a plausible argument that the current spate of civil unrest in deep blue cities is actually a MAGA setup ultimately benefitting Donald J. Trump. Indeed, the “optics” resemble an over-the-top horror movie for the Democrats: giant Mexican flags brandished over burning car wrecks; chunks of cement dropped on police from freeway overpasses; uncontrolled looting; a curfew ignored; molotov cocktails thrown; childishly scrawled f-word graffiti, and vast arrays of mostly young but physically unattractive people. Where’s the mass appeal in that picture? Hollywood would reject a script like that as unbelievable and disgusting.

Norton’s comments come after several recent reports have highlighted concerns over her age and ability to continue serving in Congress effectively.
