It's the fifth night of the "peaceful" anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles, and the lawlessness is spreading throughout the country like, well, like wildfire. NBC reported that demonstrations were planned in cities like New York, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, and Atlanta on Tuesday, and it looks like some of them are beginning to resemble what's going on in Southern California. The New York Post reports that at least 45 people have been arrested in New York City so far in various places throughout Lower Manhattan, including Foley Square. The Post also claims that large groups of people are wearing keffiyehs associated with the pro-Palestine movement.

A Russian rocket attack targeted the northeastern Ukrainian city of Sumy on Tuesday, killing at least four people and wounding 25, officials said. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy denounced the assault, saying it underscored that Moscow has no intentions of halting the 3-year-old war.

A surprise Ukrainian drone attack that targeted several Russian air bases hosting nuclear-capable strategic bombers was unprecedented in its scope and sophistication and for the first time reached as far as Siberia in a heavy blow to the Russian military.
Ukraine said over 40 bombers, or about a third of Russia’s strategic bomber fleet, were damaged or destroyed Sunday, although Moscow said only several planes were struck. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) released a "comprehensive" report on Iran's nuclear program requested by the agency's 35-member board. The report confirmed that Iran had been carrying out clandestine nuclear activity at three sites long suspected of conducting weapons research. It also concluded that Iran had vastly increased its stockpile of highly enriched uranium (HEU), spinning up 50% more as of May 17 than they had previously reported. That translates into the capability to construct up to nine nuclear bombs.

There’s a plausible argument that the current spate of civil unrest in deep blue cities is actually a MAGA setup ultimately benefitting Donald J. Trump. Indeed, the “optics” resemble an over-the-top horror movie for the Democrats: giant Mexican flags brandished over burning car wrecks; chunks of cement dropped on police from freeway overpasses; uncontrolled looting; a curfew ignored; molotov cocktails thrown; childishly scrawled f-word graffiti, and vast arrays of mostly young but physically unattractive people.
Where’s the mass appeal in that picture? Hollywood would reject a script like that as unbelievable and disgusting.
Longtime Democratic Washington, D.C., Delegate to the House of Representatives Eleanor Holmes Norton told reporters Tuesday that she intends to run for reelection in 2026. Norton, who turns 88 on Friday, replied “yeah, sure,” after she was asked if she is seeking reelection, Politico reported. When asked how she would respond to anyone questioning whether she is capable of continuing to serve in Congress at her age, Norton stated “I’m going to run,” adding “I don’t know why anybody would even ask me,” the outlet reported. Norton’s comments come after several recent reports have highlighted concerns over her age and ability to continue serving in Congress effectively.
