Gavin Newsom and His Cruel Notion of ‘Cruel’

Original Article

Recently, Gov. Newsom weighed in on the Trump administration’s efforts to undo the last four years of border destruction, when an estimated 10-12 million illegal aliens entered the U.S. unlawfully—among them thousands with criminal records. Of the recent Los Angeles efforts of ICE to detain those who entered and reside here illegally, the governor proclaimed: “Continued chaotic federal sweeps, across California, to meet an arbitrary arrest quota are as reckless as they are cruel. Donald Trump’s chaos is eroding trust, tearing families apart, and undermining the workers and industries that power America’s economy.”

Our only hope is President Trump's pushback against the commie-crats in Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego. It is way past time the coastal population centers relinquish their strangle-hold on the remaining two-thirds of the state. I've been driving the 101 about 600 miles one-way to visit family in Southern Cal for the last 25 years. All along the route there is construction at various intervals, usually for years until completion. They are still repairing the section through Santa Barbara and Montecito that washed-out in the floods about five years ago or more, its hard to keep track. I paid $5.48 for regular gas today, at the "cheap" station. On July 1st our gas taxes go up another 65 cents a gallon! Thanks, Gavin! I hope your hair gel congeals to the hardness of a football helmet. Then you can tell us all how you're going to win the Super Bowl. I'd rather give him a "swirly" in other type of bowl, but it would clog the sewer system. MCGA - Make California Golden Again... Please President Trump!

I have thought it cruel to entice people to leave their families, homes and culture with promises of security and wealth and safety when our own country is struggling with inflation, housing, unemployment and social crises. Immigrants left their countries and families behind only yo find that aren’t places to live, that the government will warehouse you in cramped hotels which are lawless, ship you to towns or cities which are dying economically. Our leaders neglect the “already Americans” and make life harder for everyone. Politicians like Newsom are selfish, conceited pigs who glory in their own dreck. He should be ashamed of himself. He is unskilled or simply lazy in analyzing himself.

It's also cruel to have Mexican cartels prey on their fellow Hispanics. Not one penny of federal tax payers money to rebuild anything burned down in LA this past year. California - a beautiful state ruled by very ugly people.

The last time the phrase “Los Angeles riots” dominated the national headlines, Patrick Buchanan told a story about order being restored to the city. “The mob retreated because it had met that one thing that could stop it,” he said at the 1992 Republican National Convention in Houston. “Force, rooted in justice and backed by moral courage.” President Donald Trump has been compared to Buchanan before. As streets burn in Los Angeles in defiance of federal immigration law, he may have the opportunity for his ultimate Buchananite moment as he sends in the National Guard.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has been hiding the truth from Congress and the public, and they’ve just been caught. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley on Friday called for an investigation of the internal tools the G-men have been using to conceal their official actions from legitimate oversight. Material released by the Iowa Republican senator confirms the existence of a secretive electronic file drawer within Sentinel, the FBI’s case management system, allowing the bureau to reply, “We have no responsive documents” when a congressional committee subpoenas information locked within.

Alan Dershowitz calls his new book his “magnum opus.” It’s the culmination of the legendary legal mind’s 60-year career — and he’s written nearly that many books. But though he’s had multiple bestsellers, including one atop The New York Times list, America’s most famous lawyer worries people won’t read this tome. Blame Donald Trump — it’s a popular pastime these days. Remember the 2002 Tom Cruise sci-fi thriller “Minority Report”? “The Preventive State: The Challenge of Preventing Serious Harms While Preserving Essential Liberties” is the new book version, its author tells The Post in an exclusive interview.

Winston Churchill once warned that “appeasement is feeding the crocodile, hoping he will eat you last.” When it comes to the crocodile of censorship, history is strewn with defenders who later became digestives. Censorship produces an insatiable appetite for greater and greater speech limits, and today’s censorship supporters often become tomorrow’s censored subjects. This week, Secretary of State Marco Rubio stopped feeding the crocodile. On May 28, 2025, Rubio shocked many of our allies by issuing a new visa restriction policy that bars foreign nationals deemed “responsible for censorship of protected expression” in the U.S. The new policy follows a major address by Vice President J.D. The left is in its usual sanctimonious but schizophrenic mood. The media claims daily that the Trump administration has usurped power. It is supposedly destroying democracy. It tramples on the rule of law and thus has created a virtual dictatorship. Yet at the same time, Democrats high-five the most recent district court judge who has put a stop to the current Trump executive orders—which the Trump administration abides by as it files appeals. The Alternative for Deutschland (AfD), a pro-free market, anti-EU, anti-mass migration party, placed second in Germany’s recent parliamentary elections, earning nearly 21 percent of the vote to the top vote-getter’s, the Christian Democratic Union’s, 28 percent. The AfD placed well ahead of the once-dominant Social Democratic Party (16 percent) and the Greens (11 percent).

Buried within the 1,100-page bill recently passed by the House of Representatives—the "One Big, Beautiful Bill" that reflects President Trump's priorities—are several provisions that, if enacted into law, could return the U.S. energy sector to a more capitalistic model. President Joe Biden, with strong backing from environmental lobbyists and a last-minute defection from West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin, pushed through the Inflation Reduction Act and the Infrastructure Bill. These measures allocated billions of dollars in federal credits and loan guarantees to favored industries, all under the banner of environmental protection.

This week, the Supreme Court continued to deliberate over what to do with the growing number of national or universal injunctions issued by federal district courts against the Trump Administration. The court has long failed to address the problem, and what I call “chronic injunctivitis” is now raging across the court system. Justices have only worsened the condition with conflicting and at times incomprehensible opinions. Both Democratic and Republican presidents have long argued that federal judges are out of control in issuing national injunctions that freeze the entire executive branch for years on a given policy. For presidents, you have to effectively sweep the district courts 677-to-0

On Monday, we celebrate Memorial Day, the civic holy day we set aside each year to commemorate those who died fighting our wars. It is a day for somber reflection of the sacrifice — more than 1 million service members — that has been made over the course of our nation’s history. This commemoration began on June 3, 1861, when the then recently dug grave of John Quincy Marr, a captain in the Virginia militia and the first combat fatality in the Civil War, was decorated in Warrenton, Virginia. Marr had been killed two days earlier at the Battle of Fairfax Courthouse. The practice of decorating the graves of their honored

While it looked like law enforcement came out in force on Monday night to help deal with the rioting in Los Angeles, Fox News reported something interesting happening earlier that evening. Fox's Bill Melugin reported how "hundreds" showed up out of nowhere, some with foreign flags. Then they reported that people were being given earplugs, gas masks, and water bottles, not to drink but to toss at the cops. Melugin also said people were communicating by radio to let others know where the police movements were. But this was perhaps the most intriguing moment, from the local Fox affiliate: the video of the truck pulling up, just giving

If you’re the media, you call it a “mostly peaceful protest.” Normal people might call it an “insurrection.” But “insurrection” is not quite right, either. “Insurrection” implies a violent revolt against the government by its own citizens, not violence by uninvited foreigners who refuse to leave. I suppose you could call it a riot, but when its foreigners claiming ownership of the land, it’s a bit more than that. So, the question remains: What do you call it when foreigners: illegally enter the country, refuse our requests that they leave, assert ownership over the land, attack our people, places and government, under the colors of their foreign flag while burning the American flag,

Trump offered the National Guard ahead of time, but Democrats refused. Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) claimed Tuesday in a news conference on Capitol Hill that President Trump refused to send the National Guard to protect the Capitol from rioters on January 6, 2021. Her point was to contrast Trump’s supposed refusal to protect the Capitol with his apparent enthusiasm for federalizing the California National Guard in recent days to quell left-wing riots in Los Angeles, California. She made her remarks among other California Democrats,

There’s an old joke line that says, “Don’t confuse me with facts.” It’s also a leftist line of argument. I used to try to argue with a leftist about politics, but whenever I’d bring in facts to counter his theories, he’d storm out, furious that I was polluting the discussion with how the world actually works. Greta Thunberg is a leftist down to the marrow of her bones, so she, too, refuses to have her ideological purity tainted by the facts.
