Two victims were injured in a shooting Friday night outside Mariucci Arena on the University of Minnesota campus following a high school graduation ceremony.
Campus police said the shooting occurred around 8:20 p.m. after Wayzata High School’s graduation ceremony.
The University of Minnesota Police Department responded to the scene, and paramedics transported two victims to the Hennepin County Medical Center. Their condition was unknown as of Friday night’s update.
A suspect is in custody. Police continue to investigate with the assistance of the Minneapolis Police Department and the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office.

As Gallup puts it, trust in the media is at a “record low.” Here’s the headline chart: Note that the largest plurality of trust in the media is “none at all.” One more level of refinement: Democrats like the media. The federal government cannot invalidate immigration documents that allow roughly 5,000 Venezuelan nationals living in the United States to remain in the country until October 2026, a federal court in California ruled on May 30.
In February, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem terminated Venezuela’s 2023 designation for Temporary Protected Status (TPS), a temporary immigration status granted when foreign nationals cannot return to their home countries because of safety concerns, such as ongoing armed conflict, environmental disasters, or epidemics.
A TPS designation protects individuals from deportation and allows them to apply for authorization to work in the United States.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy threatened Wednesday to pull federal grants for California’s High-Speed Rail Authority after it spent nearly $7 billion in taxpayer funds over a decade and a half without laying a single foot of track.
In a more than 300-page report, Duffy detailed the missed deadlines and stretched budget for the long-running project — and gave the Golden State’s high-speed rail office 37 days to respond or lose out on around $4 billion in grants.
“This report exposes a cold, hard truth: CHSRA has no viable path to complete this project on time or on budget,” he said.

Judge Gordon P. Gallagher’s ruling stated that the administration cannot remove Soliman’s wife and five children from the District of Colorado or the United States pending a ruling from the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. “[T]he Court finds that deportation without process could work irreparable harm and an order must issue without notice due to the urgency this situation presents,” the judge wrote. Earlier this year President Trump announced Sean Curran, one of the agents who surrounded him following the Butler assassination attempt, as the new Secret Service Director.
Ron Rowe who served as the acting Secret Service Director after Kim Cheatle resigned last summer remained on payroll as a “senior advisor” for several months.
Rowe is a typical Washington bureaucrat who led the bureau before the second assassination attempt on Trump’s life during the 2024 Campaign.
