Anti-Israel protesters disrupted Kennedy’s opening statement before the committee, in which footage showed Cohen standing up and being removed by police. Cohen spoke at a pro-Palestine press conference with Democrat Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib outside of the U.S. Capitol ahead of the hearing.
“You’re killing poor kids in Gaza and paying for it by cutting Medicaid for kids here,” Cohen said, according to an X post that he reposted himself.
So-called “influencers” are being accused of threatening the white African refugees in social media posts that are going viral for all the wrong reasons.
Apparently, it’s cool to be xenophobic again as long as the people fleeing oppression are white. At least, that’s what one might glean from the videos that have been coming out since President Donald Trump made it his administration’s priority to “promote the resettlement of Afrikaner refugees escaping government-sponsored race-based discrimination, including racially discriminatory property confiscation.”
But America may not be any safer than the violence they are fleeing if these people have their way.

Noem has been busy in her role as head of the DHS, and apparently that has rubbed some the wrong way. Thompson noted her various appearances and “costume changes” during a hearing.
