A recent deadly collision over Washington, D.C. involving an Army helicopter has brought sudden national scrutiny to the service and its missions over the nation’s capital, but a master Army aviator told Breitbart News that they had been at risk for years.
In fact, the aviator said, the Army was so strapped for experienced pilots that up through 2023 it was sending its most junior pilots fresh out of flight school to fly these specialized missions. At one point, an estimated 40 percent of the pilots assigned to these missions, which can include evacuating leaders in the event of an attack, were on their first assignment, the aviator said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Thursday he had a “productive meeting” with retired Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg, who was acting as President Donald Trump’s envoy for Ukraine and Russia.
The upbeat meeting seemed to scale back a growing confrontation between Zelensky and Trump over bilateral U.S. peace negotiations with Russia.
“I had a productive meeting with Special Envoy Kellogg – a good discussion, many important details. I am grateful to the United States for all the assistance and bipartisan support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people,” Zelensky said on social media Thursday afternoon.

Elon Musk took the CPAC stage by storm on Thursday — decked out in a “Dark MAGA” outfit and wielding a prop chainsaw to signify the Department of Government Efficiency’s financial cuts to the federal government.
President of Argentina Javier Milei gifted the world’s richest man the chromed-out chainsaw ahead of Musk’s sit-down interview at the Conservative Political Action Conference, in Maryland, on Thursday evening. (Photos) Melei handed Musk the power tool while on stage — with the DOGE chief then triumphantly holding the chainsaw above his head in a macho gesture to the conservative crowd.

Hold on, patriots! Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick dropped the bombshell today: the Trump administration plans to abolish the IRS , that nest of leftist bureaucrats squeezing decent Americans dry.
Yes, you read that right: Donald Trump, the champion of freedom, wants to rip out the Internal Revenue Service and replace it with a tariff-based system that makes foreigners pay for our greatness.
This is not a drill—this is the conservative revolution in action!

A recent study indexed each U.S. state, which was weighted by 49 different factors that would determine the habitability of each state. No one's ever really ready to face the loss of a loved one. That's why safety matters so much—it's behind every decision we make to keep ourselves and our families healthy. We can spend hours on Google digging into stats about the safest cities, but it can feel like piecing together a giant puzzle.
Thanks to a recent comprehensive study, we now have a clear understanding of which states to be cautious of. The data used in the study is sourced from FBI Crime Data Explorer, Centers for Disease Control

Not too long ago, I decided to try a bold experiment. I returned to the University of Georgia to take some agriculture classes. The reason I considered it bold is that I was old enough to be many of the students' mothers (had I been an extremely young teen mom, of course). I learned a lot of lessons about this current generation of teens and twenty-somethings and how college has changed since my first go-round two decades prior, but what really threw me was when a professor asked for my pronouns.

Russia has retaken more than 300 square miles of territory in Kursk since Ukraine carried out a cross-border offensive into the Russian border region in summer 2024, a top Russian general has said.
Speaking to Russia’s Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper, Russian Col. Gen. Sergei Rudskoi said on Feb. 20 that the retaken territory accounts for 64 percent of all land initially captured by Ukraine in its cross-border offensive.
Kyiv has yet to comment on the general’s assertions, which The Epoch Times could not independently verify.

In my opinion, there often is remarkably little correlation between spending and results. Our educational system is an obvious instance: the more we spend, the worse our schools get. I seriously believe that if we cut education spending by 50%, our kids would be better educated.
This is a basic difference between liberals and conservatives. Conservatives measure results, while liberals measure inputs. Thus, if we want better schools–or a better military–the liberal solution is obvious: spend more money. Whether the money actually does any good is of little or no interest. When the checks are written, the liberal’s job is done.
Which brings us to the Department of Defense:

During a Black History Month ceremony at the White House, Trump revealed that late NBA star Kobe Bryant, late boxing star Muhammad Ali and late civil rights icon and MLB pioneer Jackie Robinson will all be represented with statues in the garden. In addition to the legendary athletes getting statues, Trump announced multiple civil rights leaders in other fields, including Martin Luther King Jr., Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Billie Holiday, Aretha Franklin, Coretta Scott King and Frederick Douglass, will also get statues.

I recently returned from a much-needed week away from arctic Michigan, and I’ll admit I (mostly) took a break from the news as well.
Holy cow, I missed a lot.
This is the new normal with President Donald Trump back at the helm. Between his many social media posts, announcements and executive orders, Trump can control the news cycle like no one else. After four years of former President Joe Biden, who essentially hid from the news media and the public for much of that time, it’s easy to feel whiplash.
Trump is just getting started, and he shows no signs of slowing down. Thursday marks his first full month in office

President Donald Trump’s administration has stopped providing free lawyers to 26,000 migrant youths, many who are asking for green cards.
The lawyers argue that many of their migrant-youth clients have been abandoned by their parents and so deserve green cards via the “Special Immigrant Juvenile” loophole in immigration law.
But the lawyers’ claims of “abandonment” are often belied by the reality that the youth migrants crossed the border in search of jobs while one or both parents stayed behind in their home country.

Jason Furman is a left-leaning economist who currently works at Harvard but who previously served as chair of the Council of Economic Advisers under President Obama. So his recent takedown of Bidenomics is coming from an ally of the party not an outsider.
Furman's analysis starts with the fact that voters rejected Biden and Harris because in their view Bidenomics was not a rousing success. If you had to point to a single cause for widespread dissatisfaction with Biden's tenure, it would probably be inflation.

As The Gateway Pundit reported earlier, the U.S. Senate voted to confirm Kash Patel as America’s next FBI Director.
His confirmation did not come easily. Two of the Senate’s lead RINOs, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine, voted against him, while every single Democrat voted no. Surprisingly, fellow RINO Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky voted yes.
The Senate broke the filibuster on Patel’s nomination in a 51-47 vote earlier on Thursday.
Now, Patel has released his first comments since his confirmation, and MAGA Nation will love them. His fiery statement should also send shivers down the spines of the Deep State and America’s enemies.

Trump hardened his stance on Ukraine this week in a pivot that saw the country excluded from initial peace negotiations between the U.S. and Russia in Saudi Arabia. Criticism of Ukraine’s exclusion from the talks climaxed in the president branding Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy

( X Video) The murdered hostages included a woman and her two young children and an elderly journalist. The victims were identified as Shiri Bibas, 32, and her children, Ariel and Kfir. The children were four years old and nine months old, respectively. The journalist was 83-year-old Oded Lifshitz.

Toxic RINO Senator Susan Collins (ME) on Thursday morning announced she is a “no” vote on Kash Patel.
The Senate will vote to confirm Kash Patel as FBI Director on Thursday. Senator Collins came out against Kash Patel just hours before the vote.
Senator Collins said her decision to vote against Kash Patel comes after a flood of firings and resignations at the Justice Department.
“The nomination of Kash Patel to serve as Director of the FBI comes to the Senate against the backdrop of recent personnel actions at the Department of Justice, including the resignations of several career federal prosecutors who felt they were being

EXCLUSIVE — The story of a 12-year-old girl whose family claimed she was denied a heart transplant for being unvaccinated has caught the attention of House Republicans, who are introducing legislation to prevent hospitals from restricting transplants based on COVID-19 vaccination status.
Reps. Michael Rulli (R-OH) and Erin Houchin (R-IN) introduced the “COVID-19 Vaccination Non-Discriminatiion Act” on Friday. The bill, shared exclusively with the Washington Examiner, would prohibit federal funds from being made available to facilities that refuse to provide treatment based on COVID-19 vaccination status.
The legislation comes after Jeneen Deal, who is related through marriage to Vice President JD Vance,

Events are continuing to develop after the initial meeting of top American and Russian officials in Riyadh, KSA. The #1 priority that SecState Rubio presented after the meeting was the reestablishment of normal diplomatic relations between the US and Russia. No new water storage infrastructure has been built in California, more than a decade after voters approved a $7.5 billion water bond in Proposition 1 of 2014.
The San Jose Mercury-News reported Wednesday that officials are deciding what to do with nearly half a billion dollars of available cash after the “collapse” of a project to expand the Los Vaqueros Reservoir, which is east of San Francisco.
Other projects have received funding for planning and permitting, but nothing has been built.
The newspaper noted:

The hard left of the Democratic Party is trying to force Gov. Kathy Hochul to fire Mayor Eric Adams because it thinks he might help the Trump administration remove illegal migrant criminals who are menacing New Yorkers. How dare he! Forget that Adams is New York’s democratically elected mayor.
Forget that most New Yorkers want illegal alien gangbangers out of our city.
The self-described party of “democracy” wants, yet again, to kill democracy to save it. The mere fact that Adams sat on the curvy couch of “Fox & Friends” with border czar Tom Homan last week sent his Trump-deranged fellow Democrats into a tizzy.

Now that Kamala Harris is no longer vice president, can I say the quiet part out loud? She was embarrassing and clumsy. She made me cringe.
Watching Harris speak to a crowd or give an interview made me feel humiliation for our country. I'd think, this is our best? This is who we brought to the world stage to represent us? After listening to Vice President JD Vance defend free speech and blast censorship last week in Europe, I don't feel like that anymore. Vance has brought clarity, inspiration and leadership to the vice presidency, and he took it on the road to show Europeans who America is now

This week, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, raised the prospect of impeaching President Donald Trump over the Justice Department’s decision to withdraw the indictment of New York City Mayor Eric Adams. The Trump administration is engaged in “an attack on the Department of Justice for engaging in corruption prosecutions,” Raskin told CBS on Sunday. Such behavior “could be impeachable in a different political environment.”
A shorter version is that you can bet the bank Raskin would be gung-ho to impeach Trump if there were only a “different political environment.” The problem, of course, is that the Constitution specifies that

Wolves roamed Colorado for millions of years. At the end of the last ice age, they managed to survive the mass extinctions of megafauna such as mammoths, mastodons, sabertooth tigers, giant cave bears, and huge sloths, an extinction event that was probably caused in part by the arrival of humans from Asia at about the same time.
Until the much later arrival of Europeans, those early Americans were living in the stone age. Their weapons were stone-tipped spears and arrows. They didn’t even have horses. But they hunted in a way that was deadly to large herding animals and the predators of the herds: They used fire.

In our lifetimes, we’ve never seen anything like what we are witnessing at 1400 Pennsylvania Ave., as the Trump administration sets the town ablaze with rapid-fire executive orders, mass firings, and DOGE investigations. The White House is “flooding the zone” with an unprecedented sense of purpose and urgency.
But a mile-and-a-half east on Pennsylvania Avenue, Republican lawmakers act like it’s just another day at the office at the U.S. Capitol – an attitude that could end up dooming Trump’s presidency.

For years, my organization has been battling against a liberal attempt to transform Minnesota’s public schools from educational institutions into far-left indoctrination centers. You might think you understand how evil the Left’s assault on education is, but that is unlikely. It is worse than you probably can imagine.
In 2023, Minnesota’s then-Democratic legislature passed a law that requires every class in every K-12 public school to incorporate “Ethnic Studies” in its curriculum. So if you are a 10th grade geometry teacher, you have to figure out a way to work race into the Pythagorean Theorem. Some schools are already starting to implement this directive. What is the result?

By now, most Americans have probably heard of the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Spearheaded by Elon Musk, the watchdog group has been instrumental in identifying the institutional waste plaguing America’s vast and unaccountable federal bureaucracy.
While DOGE has received much-deserved attention for its invaluable work, widespread bureaucratic waste is hardly an issue exclusive to the federal government. Across America’s 50 state governments, taxpayer money is similarly being used to subsidize profligate spending projects and feckless unelected bureaucrats whose interests often run counter to those of voters — even in states run by Republicans.

After President Donald Trump was elected, we published a semi-whimsical list of what would be “out” and “in” after his victory as the left instantly switched gears (“What’s In And What’s Out After Trump’s Stunning Victory”). On that list:
Out: The economy is doing great!
In: Why hasn’t Trump fixed the economy yet??
Over the weekend, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries proved us right.
“Donald Trump and Republicans consistently promised that they were going to lower the high cost of living, and they’ve done the exact opposite,” Jeffries said. “They’ve shown no interest in lowering costs in the United States of America, which are too high.”

Miami— President Donald Trump on Wednesday warned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that he “better move fast” to negotiate an end to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine or risk not having a nation to lead.

Trump’s harsh words for Zelenskyy drew criticism from Democrats and even some Republicans in the United States, where Ukraine’s defense against Russian aggression has had bipartisan support. Zelenskyy said Trump was falling into a Russian disinformation trap —

As it is now widely known, Mayor Bass was traveling in Africa when the incredibly destructive fires broke out in the city weeks ago. When she finally made it back to LA, she was questioned by a reporter and stood there silently, unable or unwilling to explain herself.
Now, weeks later, she has done a TV interview where she explained that she is launching an investigation into why she was allowed to go on her Africa trip when people knew there was a possibility of fires.
