Greenland’s leader Múte Egede said he is prepared to enter into negotiations with President-elect Trump about the future of the mineral-rich arctic territory — but warned his people had no interest in becoming Americans.
At a press conference Friday in Denmark, which exercises nominal sovereignty over Greenland, Egede said he accepted that Greenland was “a place that the Americans see as part of their world” and that while he has not spoken with Trump, he was open to “discussions about what unites us.”
“We are ready to talk,” he said. “Cooperation is about dialogue. Cooperation means that you will work towards solutions.”

It’s so refreshing to have a president who can walk and talk, and who thinks strategically, and who promotes meritocracy.
My God! And the California fires stand as a giant testament to the fetid wretchedness of the Dimokkkrap party and its endless woke smoke screens to protect incompetence and promote theft from the Treasury.

Chances are the effort by Trump will end up with a lot of mining of rare minerals throughout Greenland thus building up the economy there, along with some new US military bases being established there of protect Greenland from being encroached upon by China and Russia.

Why pay Finland anything? Let Greenland become Independent and let them be a territory, like Guam or Puerto Rico ... or just a very strong ally that we will defend militarily.
This is the perfect setup for what DJT does best. Make a deal. If the Greenlanders won't sell or acccept our deal, Finland will get what they can get. Watch how this plays out.

Let me try a little math--$3 trillion (probably about what it would cost) / 57,000 (population of Greenland). Why wouldn't the residents of Greenland favor this?

I would be very wary about annexing Greenland.
It would make it easier for Laplanders to get here - - and you know all the mayhem that Laplanders have been causing lately. Just look at the photos of the perps of major crimes - - and what do you see?
Laplanders - - that's what.

Re #3, Finland is not connected to Greenland. Denmark is the country which 'owns' it.

Do you realize that the idigenous Greenlanders are looking for Uncle Sam's generous, in their view, welfare support? Payouts would probably be much more than Denmark's. Indigenous Greenlanders are relatives of American and Canadian Indians. Have you seen the living conditions at American Indian reservations?

Its already in NATO, because its Danish territory. So US forces can operate there. If it becomes a state, or territory, the Jones Act applies. That'll make exports to the US harder. Just like for Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Independence, and a security treaty with the US would be a better choice.

Greenland knows that Russia, China, and America are going to fight over their country's resources.
Their current leader knows which country to align with.
Trump knows he knows that.
Trump does not want to annex Greenland, he wants to make a deal before China and Russia force themselves on Greenland.

First, determine what exact claim Denmark has on Greenland under today's international law and protocol. It might turn out to be tenuous. Then encourage Greenlanders to have a plebiscite. We might get it for free..

It's so much fun to watch President Trump work his magic...especially when it comes to building our future...I thank God every night for President Trump and his family...they have been hounded and attacked and scrutinized for years ...and they kept going...ever forward and shoulders to the task...it has given many of US out here the courage to stand at their side...with friends and family who don't "get it" yet...but will...soon!!
