Two US pilots shot down over Red Sea in
"friendly fire" incident

Two US Navy pilots were shot down over the Red Sea early Sunday in “an apparent case of friendly fire,” the US military said. Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels said later on Sunday they had “targeted” the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman a day earlier in an operation that led to “shooting down an F-18 aircraft” and thwarting “American-British aggression” against Yemen. United States Central Command said late on Saturday that both US pilots were recovered alive but “initial assessments indicate that one of the crew members sustained minor injuries.”

Or if it was actually friendly fire or did the Houthis actually shoot it down? Sad when you can't trust anything your government tells you.

If we actually did shoot our own plane down, the goal of killing enemies was probably met. Some of 'em probably died laughing. Or close to it.

Running aground, now shooting down own planes. We haven't been told who shot down Flight 800. Did shoot down the Iranian passenger plane by mistake. It would be an incredible read, if we were told all the mistakes.

I am so thankful to God that these two pilots survived and from all accounts, there were “minor injuries.” My admiration for their ability to make it through this is off the charts. I hope we are not being lied to and the men are REALLY okay.

As a former artillery officer, fears of killing our own friendly fire was the stuff that would make me wake up with massive chest pain and heart beating at about 200 bpm. Never happened, but had some far too close firing solutions that depended on wind that scared the absolute crud out of me more than once, especially in Afghanistan with some less-than-clear elevation changes and unclear locations. Never shot from a boat, but the addition of my location changing during firing makes my heart beat a tad fast 20 years later. It’s not an easy job. I’m assuming the F18s had transponders off and were mistaken for incoming drones. It can happen and happen quickly at the speeds these things fly. We had the luxury of not moving ourselves (or at least not like a boat) and targets moving at the speed of soldiers running. So I also had the luxury of double and triple checks. I’m not saying there should not be consequences, but this can happen even when no mistakes are made. The alternative to friendly fire is a massive drone hitting a boat full of hundreds of sailors.

Actually, a pilot and a weapons systems officer, not two pilots. Every person in an aircraft isn't necessarily a pilot. Very serious screwup. Lucky that they survived.

The ejection seat process can apply a great deal of stress to the body, often times the spine. Aviators have been known to be taken off flying status because of these injuries.

#9 is on target. Clearly the IFF transponder was off, probably being stealthy-ish. And in a complex, multi-target environment, this sort of error can happen. There will be a huge after action review of this to try to figure out what part of the system broke down, and how to prevent it from happening again. Blue on blue is always a danger, and of fortunately still pretty rare.

Thank you , #11. I always have wondered about the ejection seat and how violent that would be for a human skeleton.

Re #11, yes, especially the older seats, which used literally a cannon shell blank to propel the seat. Those were particularly harsh and hard on the body. Current generation seats use rockets and a less powerful cartridge catapult gun. Neck air bags stabilize the head laterally for reduced neck injury risk. All seats provide oxygen, and most current seats are "zero-zero" seats, will work at zero altitude and zero forward speed. A friend ejected from a F-4 Phantom, 1950s technology seat, and had a significant spinal injury. The ejection was in the early 70s and he is pretty much OK today, but has some residual back pain. I believe that current rocket seats are less likely to cause spinal injury, but it's probably still at least a 25-33% chance of a spinal injury with current seats. But, I believe the pilots would agree that it still beats the alternative.

President-elect Donald Trump has once again promised to “end birthright citizenship” for the U.S.-born children of illegal and nonimmigrant aliens. But can he do this without amending the Constitution? Yes, he can—at least according to the original meaning of the 14th Amendment’s citizenship clause, which, as I explained at great length in an earlier law review article and a pair of Heritage Foundation Legal Memos, is far different from the interpretation offered by most modern scholars.

Catherine Engelbrecht and Gregg Phillips of True the Vote (TTV) believe they have the goods to prove that “Trump was right” about the 2020 election in Georgia. Their work concerning the state’s voter rolls allegedly proves that at the time of Raffenperger’s Nov. 20, 2020 certification, there were, according to Engelbrecht, “364,000 ineligible voter records,” of which approximately 67,000 actually voted in the 2020 election. UncoverDC spent some time this week talking with Engelbrecht about TTV’s investigation of Georgia’s voter rolls.

During our year with Mike Lindell, the Fractal team went from never having seen an election roll to running the largest election database ever created, with over 1.7 billion records — for 12 states alone. With only 165 million or so voters in the United States, why such a large database? Data travel, data move, data tell a story as they traverse different databases — over time. Let's take an example. Phineas Phrogg, our made up character, is on a voter roll. Phineas owns a home, has three credit cards, two cars, does limited social media, is a deacon at his church and active in the Lions Club.

Many have pointed out that the reporting on the company in recent months has increased both in its fervor and in its negativity. In fact, some think the media at large has seemed breathlessly gleeful, almost gloating about the recent decline of their once-prized Tesla.

Rep. Pressley, 50, described the 82-year-old commander in chief’s decision to spare dozens of convicted murderers and rapists from death as a “historic and groundbreaking act of compassion that will save lives, address the deep racial disparities in our criminal legal system, and send a powerful message about redemption, decency, and humanity.”

When the London Times published a late November report claiming that Donald Trump plans to “kick transgender troops out of the military,” leftist groups and media outlets clamored against the idea, warning that an estimated 15,000 transgender troops would be impacted. There’s no evidence this figure is even close to accurate. That startlingly high figure of 15,000 trans-identifying troops has been pushed, without sourcing, by major news outlets including the London Times, Military.com, and Newsweek. Rachel Branaman, a spokeswoman for the pro-LGBTQ Modern Military Association of America, used the number to suggest that any future Trump administration action to remove these troops would imperil the country’s war-fighting ability

My initial thought? It’s about darn time, and I want to be reimbursed NOW. (I myself had no idea that on top of his outrageous “highest-ever” federal pension, he was receiving private security on my dime.) Per Raasch: Dr. Fauci, who has an estimated $11 million net worth, was constantly surrounded by U.S. Marshals at the time whether he was at home or going to TV studios to film interviews.

Recently, I was asked what I thought was the seminal event in the first quarter of the 21st Century. The past twenty-five years, beginning in January of 2000, have been fraught with wars, terrorism, religious persecution, natural disasters, political intrigue, and financial instability. Yet nothing compares to the impact, both short and long-term, of the global elites’ malevolent exploitation of the COVID-19 pandemic to permanently embed an authoritarian international world order. The politically motivated and unprecedented overreaction to a virus with a 99.5% survival rate was launched in March 2020, unleashing what can best be described as a once-in-a-century fiasco.
