David McCormick filed a lawsuit challenging at least 15,000 provisional ballots in Philadelphia in the Pennsylvania Senate race, hours after claiming victory over Democratic Senator Bob Casey.
McCormick, a Republican, held a slight lead over Casey in the battleground state's Senate election on Friday. McCormick's campaign has declared victory, but Casey has not conceded the race, as Democrats note there are still some outstanding ballots, and the race may end up within the threshold for an automatic recount. The Associated Press projected McCormick as the winner, with 97 percent of the vote counted. [SNIP] On Friday, McCormick's campaign filed a legal challenge to 15,000 to 20,000 provisional ballots in Philadelphia.

New York City can’t use an unconstitutional, two-century-old “anti-pauper” law to block the state of Texas from offering migrants free bus rides to the city from the southern border, a state judge has ruled.
The court on Thursday dismissed a lawsuit brought by Mayor Eric Adams in January against charter bus companies contracted by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. It sought to bar them from knowingly dropping off “needy persons,” citing an 1817 state law that criminalized bringing an indigent person into the state “for the purpose of making him a public charge.”
Justice Mary Rosado said in a sternly worded decision that the law is unconstitutional for several reasons.

New York City is ending its controversial scheme that gave migrant families prepaid debit cards worth a total of $18,500 each.
City Hall made the announcement Thursday, as Mayor Eric Adams has finally listened to critics of the Big Apple's migrant policies and Adams himself has become friendlier with Donald Trump, who plans massive reforms to the immigration system.
William Fowler, a spokesperson for City Hall, says the program will expire at the end of the year after handing out a total of $3.2 million in cash value for 2,600 families to buy necessities.

After President-elect Trump's victory, Iran must now prepare to contend with the man it's been trying to assassinate for years.
Tehran had reportedly been interfering in the U.S. election on behalf of Vice President Kamala Harris. But with former Trump’s win, the regime will have to prepare for a U.S. leader who is, at the very least, a wild card.
On Wednesday, the Telegram channel of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IGRC), its military force, posted a video threatening to kill Trump. It ended with footage of a bloodied Trump and the words "We will finish the job."

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has been busy — having calls and meeting with U.S. Senate hopefuls trying to take Vice President-elect JD Vance's seat in the nation's capital.
President-elect Donald Trump and Vance are set to take office in mid-January, but another race is heating up.
"Some people have already contacted me," DeWine said during a press conference before the election. "I've already met with some people — at their request."
DeWine has a big decision to make. Vance will need to resign from his coveted Senate seat, and the governor will appoint his replacement.

On Monday’s broadcast of Newsmax TV’s “The Record,” Harvard Law Professor Emeritus Alan Dershowitz reacted to 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris running ads with different messages on Israel aimed at different groups by stating that Harris “basically is saying there are fine people on both sides of what happened on October 7.”
Dershowitz said, “Well, she basically is saying there are fine people on both sides of what happened on October 7. She has praised some of the protesters who have called Israel’s response genocide. It’s like saying there are fine people on the side of 9/11. No, there aren’t."

NBC gave Donald Trump two minutes of free airtime during prime time Sunday night sporting events after the Peacock Network was accused of giving special treatment to his opponent.
Kamala Harris received 90 seconds of free airtime on the eve of election week during a surprise cameo appearance on Saturday Night Live.
But Brendan Carr, the senior Republican commissioner on the Federal Communications Commission didn't see the funny side and blasted the Vice President's skit as a 'clear and blatant effort' to evade the Equal Time rule.

Hostage deals are tempting especially when family members mount pressure campaigns, but they ensure that more hostages will be taken. After disastrous hostage deals with Iran and Russia, the Biden-Harris administration appears to have gone for a trifecta with a hostage deal with Communist China. [SNIP] The fact that no one will name the ‘Chinese national’ we released suggests that this individual was high value and that national security has once again been compromised.

Longtime Washington Post columnist Hugh Hewitt quit the newspaper on Friday, he told Fox News Digital.
Hewitt, a conservative who hosts a nationally syndicated radio show, had been a contributing columnist for the newspaper since 2017 and has written hundreds of pieces.
"I have in fact quit the Post, but I was only writing a column for them every six weeks or so," Hewitt told Fox News Digital, adding he'd recently offered to write another pro-Trump column for the paper ahead of the election. He informed editorial page editor David Shipley on Friday morning.

Actress Rosie O'Donnell has claimed she is on the verge of taking pills as she continues to worry that former President Donald Trump will beat Vice President Kamala Harris in this year's presidential election. [SNIP] She also expressed her concerns about Russian infiltration in the election, and claimed Trump would try to claim there was voter fraud if he loses.
'I'm, let's say on a scale of 10 being "Can't think of anything else and may need some additional medication," I'm like a seven,' O'Donnell admitted at the beginning of her video.
