As Hurricane Milton barrels toward the west coast of Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis fired a shot across the bow of anyone lying in wait to plunder homes or businesses left abandoned in the storm. “There’s going to be a lot of damage from this storm. There will be a lot of opportunities to take advantage,” the Republican governor said in a press conference from Tallahassee Wednesday morning. “Don’t even think about it. We’re going to come down hard on you, and you’ll regret that you did that,” DeSantis said in his sternly issued warning to would-be looters. There are some people so incompetent that they could blow a tap-in putt. “Hand me the wedge,” they say as they overlook a 2-inch gap. You can’t help these people, even though they are likely the most in need of saving anyone, because you can’t save people from themselves. This, I suspect, is why the handlers of Kamala Harris have chosen to run the campaign they have.
Hiding is the only defense against incompetence. The only problem is that no matter where you hide, there you are. A person can escape a lot, themselves is not one of them.
After two months of hiding not working,
I had a friend who worked for a polling company tell me polls are not meant to learn what people think; they are created to tell people what to think.
I have accurately predicted every presidential race since 2004 except 2020, when I hit a "wrinkle."
I did this by counting campaign signs and attributing value amounts based on the size. I traveled the country, specifically Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York, counting signs.
Most importantly, I would stand on a stage in front of groups of people and ask them who they wanted to win. And they always told me.
On Thursday during a speech at the Detroit Economic Club, Donald Trump announced his intention to make interest on car loans fully tax-deductible if he's elected.
"Today, I am announcing that as part of our tax cuts, we will make interest on car loans fully deductible," he said.
In a classic Trump fashion, he connected with the auto industry professionals in the room, noting that the idea even impressed industry veterans. “I met a lot of them backstage,” Trump recounted.
According to Trump, one longtime auto industry professional told him, “I’ve been in the car industry all my life. I’ve never thought about that.”

Disneyland in California is hiking its ticket prices for its high-demand days on the tail of reports that Disney’s parks are seeing looming financial loss.
The Anaheim-based park will keep its entry-level ticket price of $104 a person, but tickets based on demand will rise between $7 and $12, which is up to a 6.5 percent increase, according to CNBC.
The park’s Magic Key annual pass is also going up, increasing between six percent and 20 percent — or between 100 and 125 dollars — depending on the pass.
