President Biden held his first Cabinet meeting in almost a year and immediately turned the session over to a special guest — his wife, first lady Jill Biden.
Mrs. Biden sat at the head of the table Friday and spoke about an initiative to fund women’s health programs.
“This is the first time Jill has joined us and goes to show how important of an issue it is,” Mr. Biden said. It was Mr. Biden’s first Cabinet meeting since Oct. 2, 2023.
The session offered the president a chance to show he is still in charge despite dropping his reelection bid and endorsing his top deputy, Vice President Kamala Harris,

“This is now the Number One Song across all charts, about me. Such an unexpected honor!” Trump said.
Kahn thanked President Trump for being the “Fighter America Needs.” When asked about what the takeaway of the song is thus far on Sirius XM’s Breitbart News Daily on Friday, Kahn told host Mike Slater, “to recognize who President Trump really is and what he goes up against and we owe it to him to keep fighting alongside him regardless of what

Israel on Friday took out Ibrahim Aqil, the Hezbollah leader behind a trio of bombing attacks that killed more than 250 Americans in the 1980s — as the Jewish state moves toward all-out war with the Iranian proxy group.
Aqil – most recently a member of Hezbollah’s highest military body, the Jihad Council – “was eliminated in a targeted intelligence-based strike in Beirut,” the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement.
Also known as “Tahsin,” Aqil was a “principal leader” of the cell responsible for both the April 18, 1983, bombing at the US embassy in Beirut, which killed 63 people including 17 Americans; and the Marine Corps barracks bombing

The election board in one of the most crucial swing states in the 2024 presidential election approved a controversial new rule that will require the hand counting of ballots on election night.
The Georgia State Election Board voted 3-2 to approve a rule that requires poll workers to count the number of paper ballots by hand after voting is completed in a decision that was opposed by the state attorney general’s office, the secretary of state’s office and an association of county election officials but supported by many conservatives.
Three board members who were praised by former President Donald Trump during a rally last month in Atlanta voted

A George Soros-funded nonprofit that steers left-wing prosecutors in major American cities is in turmoil after much of its minority staff accused their leader of being racist and abusive.
Long-simmering discontent at Fair and Just Prosecution reached a new high in April when Sherry Boston, the elected district attorney of Dekalb County, Georgia, accused FJP Executive Director Miriam Krinsky of racism for excluding her from a New York City event, emails obtained by The Daily Wire show.
Krinsky, who is white, replied by disparaging Boston and saying she was excluded from events because of merit, not race.

On Friday afternoon, Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe did a press conference in order to update the public on the Secret Service internal investigation on the July 13 assassination attempt on former President and GOP nominee Donald Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Rowe's comments were short, summarizing the facts and investigation findings that RedState has reported extensively. The gist of Rowe's introduction embodied the fact that the "threat level is evolving" and requires a "paradigm shift" in the Secret Service operations and procedures in safeguarding their protectees.
Rowe outlined these main findings:

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has accused the FBI of blocking a state investigation into the second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.
In a press conference on Tuesday, DeSantis announced that Florida would conduct its own investigation, asserting that federal agencies cannot be trusted to investigate threats against Trump due to their ongoing efforts to prosecute him.
According to DeSantis, these agencies have no place leading an investigation where the most serious violations fall under state law, not federal law.

Kamala Harris reaffirmed that she's a gun owner and will fire away if anyone tries to sneak into her house.
The vice president made the statement in an attempt to burnish her credentials as a 'common sense' gun control candidate during her hour-and-a-half long livestream fundraiser with Oprah Winfrey.
'If somebody breaks into my house, they're getting shot,' she said, before showing off her trademark cackle. She then expressed regret, similar to how her boss Joe Biden would try to take back foolish statements: 'I probably should not have said that. My staff will deal with that later.'
The statement made headlines on social media,
