On Thursday’s broadcast of CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg stated that building eight electric vehicle charging stations so far under the Inflation Reduction Act’s $7.5 billion investment in electric vehicle charging stations is “on track.” Because most construction will occur in the second half of the decade.
Co-host Joe Kernen asked, “[O]ur designs on electrification of the auto industry, have we recalibrated there? And I’ll just give you one item and you can — maybe you can explain why, but under the Inflation Reduction Act, 7.5 billion for building these charging stations. The latest information, eight have been built with the 7.5 billion that had been allocated.

A reason why the bloom is off the ev rose is lack of charging stations. Even for Tesla, but especially for non Tesla cars. So B boy wants to build out gov chargers, DEI compliant of course, 5 years in the future…when our fleet of hybrids will not need them. As one wit said, if the gov ran the Sahara desert, we would be out of sand in a week.

All those billions being handed out for garbage like this with no accountably, is there any wonder why the Hildebeast is suddenly making noise and there's talk about her joining the Harris maladministration? ''Too much cash for me to miss out on!''

Sounds about right for a Biden selected leftist and progressive Democrat. So where did all the billions go, chances are it was doled out to Democrats supporting groups and individuals?

So most construction will occur in the second half of the decade, after he is out of office, that 7.5 billion has disappeared, and the charging stations have been forgotten about.
Sounds more a major theft is on track.

The House Repubs are currently struggling (how to spend more while claiming to spend less) with 2024-25 federal budget. Can’t the next budget prohibit spending anymore on EV charging stations? Same question for the 83,000 additional IRS agents.
Related question, if gasolne/diesel powered cars were just invented, would we have the federal government open service stations across the country? So, why is Biden’s regime opening what are service stations for EVs?

EVs aren't about saving the planet. It's about control and getting rich quick. Seeing the lack of progress shows me these people aren't serious. They will take the money and run and produce nothing. Typical of Washington. They waste money. That is why the dollar is worthless. That is why we have inflation. That is why the economy is collapsing.

Remember when those newfangled horseless carriages first came out and the government spent billions of dollars building gas stations along every road?
Yeah, me neither.

Someone must have rung Petey's bell for him to answer so quick. As I have posted before, there are 3 or 4 charging stations at a local grocery store. I have seen two cars charging in the 5 years the store has been open.
