Author and outspoken feminist J.K. Rowling has dared police in Scotland to arrest her for criticising transgender ideology as the country’s controversial hate crime legislation came into effect on Monday. Rowling, who resides in Scotland, has warned that the leftist-separatist Scottish National Party government’s new Hate Crime and Public Order Act will have a stifling effect on freedom of speech and vowed to continue espousing her belief that men cannot become women. “Freedom of speech and belief are at an end in Scotland if the accurate description of biological sex is deemed criminal,”

Common sense in a senseless world. Glad to see a real woman rattling cages. Liberalism appears to advance until it breaks down into obvious insanity.

UK has no freedom of speech. The US is unique in that we do have it. Also freedom of religion. The First Amendment was a first of its kind. Sadly, she lives in a land where its the King's law, not a constitutional law.

Making words and opinions "crimes" is proof of a totalitarian thuggery as the type of government. Scotland is NOT any sort of a "free country".

Tesla, Inc. stock took a hit Tuesday as the electric vehicle maker posted sales numbers showing their first year-over-year quarterly decline since 2020. As of this writing, the stock is down five percent for the day, and it's tumbled 34 percent over the last six months. The sales drop comes amidst increasing competition and a lowered customer appetite for EVs. The Austin, Texas, company said Tuesday that it delivered 386,810 vehicles worldwide from January through March, almost 9% below the 423,000 it sold in the same quarter of last year. It was the first year-over-year quarterly sales decline in nearly four years. Sales also fell short of even the most bearish

As RedState reported, Israeli forces mistakenly hit vehicles carrying aid workers on Monday as they traveled through an active war zone. The World Central Kitchen convoy included citizens of Australia, Britain, and Poland. One American perished as well. Israel immediately admitted to the mistake and started an investigation into how it occurred. That didn't stop Joe Biden from climbing upon his high horse and raging against the long-time American ally. In a statement brimming with condescension and faux righteousness, the president claimed he was "outraged" at the event, asserting that Israel "has not done enough"

Former President Donald Trump has staked out a significant lead against President Joe Biden in several of the most pivotal states that could decide the 2020 election, a recent survey has revealed. The Wall Street Journal survey questioned voters in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, and found Trump leading his likely opponent in all of them except Wisconsin, where the pair tied. Trump led Biden 47% to 42% in Arizona. In Georgia, the margin was a narrower 44% to 43%. In Michigan, he led 48% to 45%, while in North Carolina, Trump led with 49% to 43%. In Nevada,

Former President Donald Trump has the edge on President Joe Biden in the critical swing state of Michigan, according to a Spry Strategies poll, continuing a trend in the Wolverine State that has persisted for months. The poll, released Tuesday night, also finds that most voters in the state back mass deportation of illegal aliens. In a head-to-head matchup with Biden, Trump leads 48 percent to 43.7 percent. Another 8.3 percent of respondents were unsure or did not have an opinion on who they would back if the election were today. Trump maintains an advantage over Biden in a race with independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr., but by a closer margin.
The Beepocalypse Has Been Canceled 3 replies

Yesterday, we were all going to die because there would be no more bees. Today, insects will all die because there are too many bees, or something. It turns out that neither assertion is true. The beepocalypse was always a manufactured panic, although a rather profitable one for a small slice of the population who "consulted" on how to save the bees. Environmentalists loved the story because it provided another angle to attack industrial agriculture. And, of course, for the media, which regularly push false narratives to keep us excited. The Washington Post presents a fascinating observation: never before in American history have there been more bee colonies.

Taipei, Taiwan — A major earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4 struck off Taiwan’s eastern coast Wednesday, according to the US Geological Survey, prompting tsunami warnings for the island and southern Japan. The quake’s epicenter is located about 18 kilometers (11 miles) south of the city of Hualien. Tremors were felt across the island, including by CNN staff in Taipei. Reports of preliminary damage have emerged, with tilted houses in Hualien County, Taiwan’s Defense Ministry said. Military personnel have been dispatched to help with disaster relief and schools and workplaces have suspended operations as aftershocks hit the island.

The Scottish police announced Tuesday that they won’t charge J.K. Rowling under the country’s new hate-speech law after the Harry Potter author challenged the measure by “misgendering” transgender convicts. Scotland’s 2021 Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act went into effect on Monday, which was also April Fool’s Day. To mark the occasion, Rowling mockingly lauded ten transgender-identifying men whose crimes against women included sexual abuse, abduction, possession of child pornography, and indecent exposure. Rowling mentioned Scottish man Isla Bryson, a convicted double rapist, who transitioned to a woman “shortly before she was due to be sentenced.”

Christine Blasey Ford got her second round of media adulation last month for publishing her memoir of the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation she tried to derail. Parker wonders when the media will finally get around to discussing the book written by one of the victims of the unsubstantiated allegations, Mark Judge -- and when the media will finally recognize Blasey Ford's motives: Ford, you’ll recall, is the California psychologist with two front doors in her house who, in testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Justice and Development Party (AKP) suffered their worst defeat in more than 20 years in local elections, losing the mayoralties of both Istanbul and Ankara to opposition candidates. The opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) narrowly won the overall popular vote for the first time in decades, elevating Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu to become Erdogan’s major rival for national influence. The count as of Monday morning gave CHP 37 percent of the popular vote versus 36 percent for AKP. Some observers thought CHP redrew the political map enough to foreclose Erdogan’s hopes of rewriting the constitution so he could run again in 2028. AKP’s parliamentary

Of all of the legal cases currently being piled up against Donald Trump in the Democrats' ongoing lawfare efforts against him, the one I've probably found the most troubling is the allegation of mishandling classified documents. It's a fairly serious charge and it's one of the few cases against him that does at least appear to involve the possibility of an actual crime being committed (more on that in a moment) and physical evidence to support the claim. It has thus far sounded as if the court was taking it seriously as well. But now, a possible ray of hope has emerged for the former president.

US home insurance rates will hit a record high this year, according to grim new forecasts. The typical annual premium will rise to $2,522 by the end of 2024, according to insurance comparison platform Insurify - up 6 percent on a year before. This projected increase for 2024 comes on the back of a 20 percent hike over the last two years. This has largely been driven by escalating natural disasters, insurers pulling out of certain areas - which cuts down on competition - and higher fees for home repairs. Soaring costs mean home insurance is becoming increasingly unaffordable for many Americans - with many opting to forego
