WASHINGTON — Within 48 hours of the release of a long-awaited immigration and foreign aid bill he had championed, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s Republican conference rejected his pitch to support it, knifed the deal and left it for dead.
Just four Republicans voted for it. In the end, even McConnell backtracked and voted against the package that he had helped develop. It was a jarring moment on Capitol Hill that pointed to a changed landscape: The Kentucky Republican, a one-man power center for more than a decade, is seeing his influence with fellow senators wane as his party continues to transform into the right-wing populist mold of Donald Trump.

We have all credited McConnell with having ushered Trump's judicial nominees through the Senate but in truth any Republican Senate Majority leader could have done the same. Please retire him forever.

Hey, NBC, we MAGA Republicans are NOT "right wing". We are the center. It's just that you Communists in the media and in the Democrat Party have dragged the country so far left It's hard for you to see where the center is.

Right wing populists, meaning those that support the constitution, and rule of the government by the people. Leftists disdain the citizenry.

I doubt very much that this hideous bill would have passed in the Senate, let alone the House, no matter what Trump's or McConnell's position was on it. It was a travesty that gave the Democrats 95% of what they wanted and the Republicans absolutely nothing. That McConnell didn't know that it was doomed from the start is a concrete reason to depose him.

NBC deliberately did not mention the 5 democrat senators who voted no and helped kill the border bill. NBC has no credibility.

Trump had nothing to do with it. It was a bad bill to begin with and the Turtle who is as clueless as Biteme agreed to it just to so the demolsuts and media can call it bipartisan.

McConnell has zero appeal in his state. Throw him over to the Chinese mainland and let him spend his last years there with his wife. He might want to change his party affiliation to Dem or Commie before he goes.

Common sense will tell you that the Congress should never approve such a bogus claimed border security bill that effectively allows five thousand illegal aliens a day to unlawfully enter the USA, a number that equates to one million eight hundred and twenty-five thousand illegal aliens a year, gaining unlawful entry to the USA, before effective immigration law enforcement measures can kick in along the US border. In a legitimate border security bill the numbers of illegal aliens unlawfully entering the USA each day should be just one illegal alien who would immediately be subject to being arrested and deported in accordance with the immigration laws. The Fox News Channel reported tonight that McConnell the Republican leader in the US Senate wrote that bogus bill, if so McConnell should retire to some five star rest home in Kentucky. Obviously the old UniParty Senate buddies, McConnell, Schumer, and Biden were in cahoots in designing that now seemingly failed bill. There is no legitimate reason that a Senate bill involving the out of control mass illegal immigration situation along the US-Mexico border caused by Biden and the leftist and socialist Democrats should be lumped together in one massive bill along with efforts to send billions of dollars to Israel and Ukraine. Clearly the wimpy Republicans need a new Senate leader who is not a UniParty establishment politician most times ready to cave to the demands of the leftist and socialist Democrats.

My thought is that The Turtle thought he could once again work with his crooked 'Uniparty Club' buddies- UpChuck Schumer & the 'RATS, and the Lamestreams- to slide this bill through while the TV Media distracted everyone with wall-to-wall coverage of Taylor Swift and the 'Super-Duper-Pooper-Scooper Bowl'. However the 'new media'- Clay & Buck, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Jesse Kelly and others on the radio, Lucianne.com, Citizen Free Press.com, Whatfinger.com and others on the internet, together were successful in getting the word out about how evil this bill is.
Once the word got out and the negative feedback started really rolling in, the Turtle realized that 'the jig was up' and reversed course.
However, NEVER TRUST THE UNIPARTY!
WATCH OUT for all the EVIL elements to be slipped into a DIFFERENT BILL at the last minute and voted through on a 3AM sneak vote!
Not 'till the Final Gavel bangs down and the session is over, is it truly OVER!
I don't trust these UniParty Crooks any farther than I can spit upwind in a hurricane, and living on the Gulf Coast, I have been through a few of 'em!
