Get out of Denver, baby, go, go

My guess is that Bob Seeger did not have migrants in mind when he recorded "Get Out Of Denver" but don't be surprised if the local Democrats make it their new song. According to news reports, Denver is overwhelmed: Colorado’s capital has joined the evergrowing list of cities that have become overwhelmed by the influx of migrants — with over 38,000 asylum seekers arriving in Denver in the past year. The Mile-High City has struggled to accommodate the new arrivals who have inundated city shelters and hospitals, prompting state officials to enact a limit on how long migrants can stay in state-funded rooms starting Feb. 5.

As stated a couple of days ago by another poster, the city of Denver purchased a former Embassy Suites Hotel for $millions that is used to house illegal aliens. Last weekend there were two stabbings there. And that only one local TV station reported about the stabbings. My search confirmed all the above. I found stories from local Fox affiliate KDVR, but no reports on the violent attacks from any of the legacy Denver news channels.

38,000 is a drop in the bucket when you're from Texas. We see that many in half a week. Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and El Paso all have numbers that dwarf Denver. Denver deserves 10 times more.

And once the city and state governments get tired of paying the room and board of the illegals, they will be out on the streets, forced to take what they need. Especially bad in sanctuary cities that have alienated their police force.

I read that Ken Buck, one of Colorado's Representatives will not vote to impeach Mayorkas. He says, "He's a solid no on the vote to impeach Mayorkas". I guess Buck has not taken a look at what Denver has become. Denver is a literal mess . . . it is madning to see what has become of it, between the illegal aliens and the homeless.

It was OK when illegals were overwhelming our southern border states, but now that they are overwhelming Democrat-controlled sanctuary cities, suddenly it is a problem. The good news is the problem can be solved by re-electing Trump. The bad news is that the blue states will never vote for Trump no matter what, even if their cities are left in shambles.

Talk is cheap. The "Sanctuary Cities", mostly well away from the border, thought the bill would never come to their doorstep. The border states ingeniously shipped them the reality of their "words" and the associated bill, with no returns. While this is a drop in the bucket of the numbers the border states have to deal with, it has shined a spotlight on the realities of unregulated immigration and the hypocrisy of the people that advocate it. The mess cannot be hidden as mayor after mayor of these cities whine and beg funds from the states and federal government, which is mostly, NOT coming. The media is dragged into reporting the widespread problem which cannot be swept under a rug because the mayors are part of the dem plantation. It is forcing a lot of people to realize that Biden/Obama immigration policy is insane, and even the ones that push for it for political reasons have no good answers to resolve the cesspool they have created. It is also making it a National problem instead of just a problem for Texas and Florida who the dems are trying to damage.

We've made it so that every town in the country is a border town in terms of services. It's like turning every bathroom medicine cabinet into a Walgreens (and having everything free for the taking). Completely untenable.

Denver is nothing but hipsters with dogs and apartment buildings, these days. The tent cities continue to grow, as the California ex-pats sip their lattes and celebrate diversity. In fact, one of the tent cities is directly across from the governor’s mansion that is absent its governor as he is shacked up with his boyfriend/husband in Boulder. The city deserves what it gets.

Thomas Lifson recently wrote about In-N-Out Burger and Denny’s fleeing Oakland, California. Crime became so constant and blatant it was too dangerous for employees and customers. At the In-N-Out, criminals were going from car to car in the drive-up lane, robbing customers as they waited for their orders. This kind of wanton, and unrestrained criminality isn’t limited to California. It’s everywhere Democrats/socialist/communists rule, places across the country like Boston: Walgreens was accused of "racial discrimination" by a Democratic lawmaker in Massachusetts after the pharmacy giant closed another location in Boston.

Iranian-backed militias have attacked American installations and forces in Syria, Iraq, and Jordan some 170 times. Ostensibly, these terrorist groups claim they are hitting U.S. forces to coerce America into dropping its support of Israel and demanding a cease-fire in the Gaza war. In reality, these satellite terrorists are being directed in a larger effort by Iran to pry the U.S. out of the Middle East, in the manner of the 1983 Marine barracks bombing. That way, Iran will be free to fulfill its old dream of becoming a nuclear shield for a new Shiite/Persian terrorist axis

It’s largely because Hollywood has dominated the cultural landscape for so long.

About five years ago the only pharmacy in my small town in rural Virginia closed. A year or so later a second county drugstore failed. Soon the owner of the last remaining drugstore in the county was unable to make a profit and had to sell. (These last two managed to reopen at a later date.) I was unaware the loss of our drugstores was a nationwide trend until reading an article by Karen Kerrigan, president and CEO of the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council. She reported that mom-and-pop drugstores in rural areas were particularly hard hit, leaving about 630 rural communities with no pharmacy by 2018.
DEI: making college unaffordable 7 replies

I graduated from college in the 1980s. I took my bachelor’s degree in 2.5 years by taking overloads—up to 22 credits--every semester, and full loads every summer and interim session, as well as a number of correspondence courses from another university when I had to have a class that wasn’t offered when I needed it. At that state college, my education cost a bit less than $10,000. I was an adult, paying my own freight, and needed to get back into the workforce as quickly as possible. I took out no student loans. Tuition then was a fraction of current college tuition.

As reported by Just The News, the NGO Miles4Migrants, founded by former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Protesters threw soup at the Mona Lisa on Sunday in the latest instance of deliberately shocking climate activism. While some consider disruptive antics such as this alienating to the public, research into social movements shows there is strategy behind it. By combining radical forms of civil disobedience with more mainstream actions, such as lobbying and state-sanctioned demonstrations, activists not only grab the public’s attention, they make less aggressive tactics more acceptable and possibly more successful. I study the role of disruptive politics and social movements in global climate policy and have chronicled the ebb, flow and dynamism of climate activism. COLUMBIA, S.C. — President Joe Biden easily won South Carolina’s Democratic primary on Saturday, clinching a state he pushed to lead off his party’s nominating process after it revived his then-struggling White House bid four years ago. Biden on Saturday defeated the other long-shot Democrats on South Carolina’s ballot, including Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips and author Marianne Williamson. His reelection campaign invested heavily in driving up turnout in what it saw as a test drive of its efforts to mobilize Black voters, a key Democratic bloc central to Biden’s chances in a likely November rematch against former President Donald Trump.

Far too many cultural changes for the worse have happened because far too many people bought the “diversity is our strength” and the “love is love” mantras. Both are cultural poison because both drag your attention away from a person’s character and merit and play to narcissism. Many people of color have come to believe in and rely on their skin color as the sole determinant of their worthiness. Implicit in this belief is that dark skin is good, white skin is bad.
