Buttigieg: Americans Won’t Be Driving
‘Old’ Gas-Powered Cars in 2050

Original Article

Posted By: ladydawgfan, 12/26/2023 6:44:52 PM

On last Monday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Varney & Co.,” Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said that he doubts “that Americans in 2050 are still going to be driving that old technology, that combustion technology that we inherited from the 20th century.” Buttigieg said, “[T]he share of EVs has been dramatically increasing every single year, and that’s continuing. Now, our goal is, by the end of this decade, to be about half-and-half. We think that that can and will happen. But what isn’t guaranteed is, first of all, is that EV revolution going to continue to be made in America?

Comments:

He is a complete moron who only occupies his position because of who he sleeps with!! He also needs to check in with the car dealers who cannot GIVE those EVs away!! EVs are the Yugos of the 21st century!!

What Pete meant to say was "I don’t know a lot of people who think that Americans in 2050 are still going to be VOLUNTARILY driving that old technology". Also, of course Mayor Pete doesn't know a lot of Americans who disagree with him on EVs. He is insulated in the liberal DC bubble where everyone thinks alike and mindlessly agrees with government green edicts. People who want EVs can buy them. People who don't want them shouldn't be forced to buy them. Until the infrastructure and technology an costs are financially viable for everyone, people will not be buying Mayor Pete's snake oil about EVs.

Not seeing it. With the volume of rare earth and other scarce minerals it takes to manufacture the batteries, to the incompatible flammability in water and unreliability in cold, to power replacement almost equaling the initial price, they seem a poor investment in unsustainable technology.

Florida lawmakers are finally addressing a loophole that allowed squatters to trash property owner Patti Peeples’ residence, terrorizing her and costing her almost $40,000 in damages. The legislation, House Bill 621 which was sponsored by Republican Florida state Rep. Kevin Steele, is a long time in coming for the Jacksonville resident but will hopefully stop squatters from moving into a home, proving to be next to impossible to evict. Many other property owners in the Sunshine State have been victims of unscrupulous individuals who don’t seem to fear the law at all. Two women broke into Peeples’ vacant rental property and set up house.

The Act requires employers give a 60 day notice before mass layoffs, according to KTLA. The Biden presidency has been nothing but a factory of bad news, not least the possibility that he could win a second term. As the world celebrated Christmas — giving and receiving gifts, overeating, and contemplating the birth of Jesus — we missed an important historical anniversary. It's easy to see why we would miss the historical events that took place on Christmas Day since it's a holy day for Christians and a special day even for many who don't believe in Jesus, but one important event that's worth revisiting took place 32 years ago. On Dec. 25, 1991, the Soviet Union ceased to exist. That evening, Mikhail Gorbachev resigned as president of the USSR, made a phone call to tell U.S. President George H.W. Bush goodbye, and delivered a speech to his nation.

At Christmastime, Christians all over the globe reflect on who Jesus is to them, while we also see some examination of who Jesus was historically. Leftists love to take that historical examination of Jesus and overlay a leftwing narrative onto His life. Advertisement "Jesus was a refugee," the left says when it wants to tie Jesus to illegal immigration. "Jesus didn't specifically mention homosexuality" is the cry when it comes to pushing the LGBTQ (and sometimes Y) agenda. Leftists love to label Jesus a social justice warrior, a revolutionary, and a mystic, none of which is true. Since Israel has dominated the news cycle after the Hamas attack on October 7,
