Locusts swarm Mexico region in biblical
proportions: ‘I won’t open my mouth again!’

It was a house-swarming party. Residents of southeastern Mexico were left in shock after a biblical proportion of locusts swallowed the region’s skies, leading many — including local media — to evoke passages from the books of Exodus and Revelation. The plague unfolded this week in Mérida and nearby Sinanché in the Yucatan area, with local authorities struggling to mitigate the midge-like insects. “I won’t open my mouth again!” one X user posted Wednesday in Spanish alongside a photo of the locust invasion.

Plenty of apocalyptic insinuation, as well as "climate change" causing and worsening the scourges, but "Wait there's MORE!" UN agency also blames Covid 19. "The agency blamed the COVID-19 pandemic for exacerbating swarms". "Supply chain disruptions impacted the production and delivery of needed pesticides" or were the pesticides simply not applied because organic/pesticide free agriculture practices being demanded by the Left, and many major ptoduce buyers now demanding it as well. Did the Cartels growing control over the region also have an impact? .

I hate "news" reporting these days. So what were these creatures; midges (tiny, flies) or locusts (grasshoppers)? Not interchangeable. And it reminds me of the mayfly swarms that occur about every year in the US. Accuracy in reporting, a novel idea I wish they'd try sometime.

Madre Nature just making sure the swallows have plenty to....swallow. Every year in the Texas Hillcountry there is a massive cricket "come out party", some years much bigger than others, they swarm and pile op like snow drifts or fall leaves...but still EVERY year it is blamed on a "climate" issues. Cooler than normal causes crickets, hotter than normal Crickets...wet summer hordes of chirpers, dry summer more crickets...lack of rain, swarms, recent rains even more. In truth it is autumnal cooling temps, shorter days and return of rains "Breeding season". In central texas black feild crickets take flight into the cities attracted by the lights at night, by the millions,in about a week they all die off or disappear. Both grasshoppers and crickets can become "Locusts"-Large mobile swarms...it depends upon hatch out numbers, population levels and food/moisture conditions. Actual "Locust Species"- annual mobile, destructive swarmers, have been extinct in the Americas for decades.

You know about carjackings. Now, you also need to be wary of “bank jackings.” Millions of Americans whip out their phones to pay for everything from dinners to vacation rentals using banking apps like Zelle, Venmo and Cash App. But that convenience is fueling a new kind of robbery. In Chicago and other cities, gunmen have been forcing people to unlock their phones with their pass codes or technology that recognizes thumbprints and faces, according to police.Once in, the robbers drain victims’ bank accounts. The payoff is often $1,000 or more — a lot more than criminals typically score by just stealing a wallet.

Hear that flushing noise? Amid all the screeching of the anti-Semitic global elites, the haze of pro-Hamas global protests, and the Biden administration's efforts to micromanage how Israel conducts its war against avowed terrorists, Israel's Defense Forces have been quietly takin' care of business. AT's editor, Andrea Widburg has written about the mass surrenders which is happy news indeed, here. But how they did it is fascinating. They've flooded Hamas's tunnels, at least in some places, with sea water, in order to, as Israel's defense minister put it, to “wipe this thing called Hamas, ISIS-Gaza, off the face of the earth.”

Former President Donald Trump is urging supporters to “guard the vote” during next year’s election, a phrase that has set off alarm bells among pro-democracy advocates who say it signals permission to take extreme measures that could intimidate voters and threaten election workers. The phrase is a relatively novel one for Trump, though activists in the far-right movement have been setting the groundwork for it to be deployed more widely. Former national security adviser Michael Flynn has spent months repeating the phrase in posts, speeches and interviews.
